Will Illegal Aliens Choose Our Elected Officials?
By Greg L | 9 October 2008 | Illegal Aliens, Virginia Politics, Crime | 43 Comments
New voter registrations in Virginia have hit an all-time high. At the same time, the number of persons being dismissed from jury duty because they are non-citizens, the list of which is taken from voter registrations, is also at an all-time high. Is voting in elections by ineligible non-citizens a problem in Virginia? Probably. Is much being done to address this problem? Outside of a few legislators that understand how the outcome of some close elections could be different because of this problem, legislators such as Delegate Bob Marshall, very little is being done. The result, according to a study from the Social Contract Press, is that in some cases illegal aliens are making the effective decision on who the elected officials are in the United States.
The Fairfax Times which reported on this study notes the outcome of some elections could easily be swung as a result of fraudulent votes:
While there is no firm number of how many illegal aliens reside in Fairfax and Loudoun counties or how many may be fraudulently registered to vote, the study points out that in the 2004 Virginia Senate race, Democrat Jim Webb beat Republican George Allen by just over 7,000 votes. The study estimates that 42,000 of the votes in that particular election were cast by non-citizen voters.
“Motor-voter” registrations allow persons to register to vote without any proof as to their eligibility, and the extent to which citizenship is determined for a voter registration application is wholly comprised of an individual checking a box. The State Board of Elections does not check for citizenship, and the only time a voter registration is removed from the rolls is when someone indicates on the driver’s license application that they are a non-citizen but they show up on the voter rolls. Despite fraudulent voting being a violation of Title 18 U.S. Code, Section 611 which carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison, and fraudulent voter registration being a Class 5 felony under Va. Code § 24.2-1016 which carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison, prosecutions of these violations are pretty much unheard of. As usual, when we don’t enforce the law, we encourage lawlessness.
You’d think it would be a matter of course for the State Board of Elections to run the voter rolls past databases maintained by the Department of Homeland Security that identify non-citizens who had been at some point legally admitted to the United States but who have not been naturalized as citizens, especially since the Board of Elections has the legal authority to do so, and DHS has a legal requirement to fulfill such requests. It wouldn’t catch registrations from foreign nationals who entered the country without passing through a border inspection station and haven’t come to the attention of authorities, but it would catch those who overstayed visas, have been previously deported, or those who are currently under a deportation order. It would be a start, however.
Barring federal action to revoke the ill-conceived “motor-voter” voter registration scheme that undermines our democracy, there are few actions the Commonwealth can take to address the problem of fraudulent non-citizen voting, but there are steps that require no legislative action. If officials wanted to address this situation, using the available tools and actually prosecuting violators would go a long way to addressing the problem until Congress finally addresses this.

According to the defenders of illegals , illegals are too busy working to vote or too scared to come out from the shadows to vote. Ya right.
motor- voter needs to be repealed. this has turned out to be the worst thing for america.
interesting to see how things shape up, with the acorn scam in las vegas it would be interesting to see if something similar happens here.
I disagree, Greg, that, “there are few actions the Commonwealth can take to address the problem of fraudulent non-citizen voting.” The problem is aided and abetted by citizens who think they have something to gain by encouraging and assisting illegals to vote. A little investigating to identify these traitorious felons and prosecute them would go a long way toward deterring others from helping them vote. But you won’t see this effort coming from Guvnor Goober, who probably thinks this fits in nicely with his effort to “internationalize” Virginia. If he’s seen as much of the world as I have, he’d be trying to “Virginiafy” the rest of the world instead.
Another reason this country is turning into a third world cespool with the help or our elected officials.
If you haven’t heard, Obama recently hired the community activist group ACORN to help him turn out the Democrat vote for the November election.
Meanwhile ACORN is under investigation in 15 states for engaging in voter fraud activities.
An ACORN office was raided this week by federal officials on reports that employees falsified forms with fake names and made up addresses. But here’s the worst part: ACORN receives tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies through government grants.
That’s right; both your and my hard-earned income is being used to help elect Barack Obama.
And we’re now seeing more arrogance and disregard for the law in Virginia on behalf of the Democrats:
• In Hampton Roads, phony voter registration forms were filled out by paid employees resulting in felony voter fraud charges;
• The liberal teacher’s union was caught promoting “Obama Blue Day” during school hours in an attempt to register students to vote and support Obama;
• Democrat Sheriffs in Fairfax and Petersburg are registering prison inmates to vote, some of whom were awaiting trial for felonies;
• Governor Kaine has been restoring the voting rights of felons at a breakneck pace.

How in the world do we not show ID when registering to
vote and voting at the polls?
Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Noone should be able to
register to vote by mail.
We are rapidly turning into a Banana Republic — and I don’t mean that store down at the mall.
Eleven years ago, back in 1997, I was an international observer for Mexico’s federal elections. In Mexico, every eligible voter had an ID card that contained more than 20 security features ranging from a photograph of the voter to his or her signature, a hologram to prevent fake IDs, a magnetic bar strip on the back, etc. Even in the most rural areas of the Yucatan people had these cards. There was no fraud. There was no problem with anyone voting. Turnout was through the roof.
Most of all, people were PROUD to have their voter cards.
Advocator and Madmom are on the money. It is ridiculous that someone can vote in our state without valid I.D. Every voter should be required to show a voter registration card WITH a valid government issued I.D. Our elected officials are handing our country to the “wretched refuse” of the world. If wanting to protect our sovereignty is “nativist”, then I’ll wear that sign proudly.
Help America Vote Act (federal law) requires that new voter registrations be compared to an outside, independent database in order to verify the identity of the voter.
It isn’t enough to complain on a blog. We have to start making calls and sending e-mails, demanding that voter registrations be verified either through DMV, SS Admin or e-verify.
And we need to begin an immediate, grassroots effort to demand a secure voter ID card. I have a photo ID card from DMW for my underage daughter for travel; it was low-cost and easy to obtain.
We must not accept NO for an answer. The very integrity of our Republic is at stake.
They told us it couldn’t be done when we started advocating for proof of legal presence for driver’s licenses, but they were wrong, in spite of vigorous push-back and outright lies from the open borders lobby.
We prevailed. This is as, or more, important.
My husband has to show govt ID to vote in FL.
We must start NOW to change the laws.
We should make “AMERICAN CITIZEN ONLY” signs and hold them in front of the polling stations.
Maybe this will scare away some of those who are illegaly voting in our elections.
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) mandates that new registrations are verified through an outside source, such as the SS Admin.
Contact the State Board of Elections and ask if they are verifying the eligibility of new voter registrations as required by HAVA.

Telephone: 804 864-8901Toll Free: 800 552-9745 FAX: 804 371-0194
We are located on the corner of East Grace Street and North 9th Street.
Our hours are from 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
The State Board of Elections site state that it takes about 30 days to process a new voter registration. We need assurances that these new registrations are not going to be pushed through the system without the appropriate scrutiny and verification.
I am very concerned about widespread voter fraud in VA. As soon as I heard that Team Obama was on a new voter registration drive, and the State had run out of voter registration cards, alarm bells went off in my head. That concern is justified given the fraud investigations now ongoing in other heavily contested states.
The time to act is NOW to begin a grassroots campaign to demand a secure voter ID. There will be push-back from the open borders lobbyists, and outright lies, to be sure — but we saw that when we advocated for proof of legal presence for DL in VA — so, been there, done that.
I have a DMV-issued photo ID card for my 10 year old as proof of ID. It was inexpensive and easy to obtain. There is no reason why we should not demand that people must present a secure ID to vote.
We need to start demanding NOW from our local and state governments so that we can permanently remove non-citizens and other non-eligible people from the voter rolls and make sure that this doesn’t happen again the next election cycle.
My husband had to show ID to vote in FL. Other states are doing this, and we shouldn’t take “no” as answer for our state officials.
I just called the State Board of Elections.
I asked what was required to register to vote in VA.
I was told I needed to fill out a voter registration card with a copy of my DL.
I explained I hold a valid VA DL, but I am not eligible to vote, as I am not a citizen, but a permanent legal resident with a “green card”, and I have been asked at the DMV if I wish to register to vote.
Since I have a valid DL and a valid SS#, apparently there is nothing to stop me from registering and voting, save for my personal sense of integrity, since the person I spoke to could not confirm that registration would be checked to confirm that I am a CITIZEN and not a LPR.
I was then directed to a Ms. Lorraine Thompson, 804-864-8914, but she is conveniently “unavailable” until Oct 21st according to her voice mail.
This is a huge concern. Our local media and bloggers need to investigate this more.
What is being done to ensure that only CITIZENS are added to the voter rolls?
Laurie-Anne M.- good job!
Why isn’t Virginia requiring proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote?
Madmom,
It isn’t enough just to show ID. There needs to be a secure Voter ID card with citizenship and eligibility verified.
I could show my valid VA DL & vote. But I am not eligible.
The bar codes on the IDs should be scanned and verified against the voter registration database, and also to ensure that people aren’t voting multiple times.
This isn’t okay. I don’t know what can be done for this election, but we need to start demanding change for the next one.
National ID anyone……
a drivers license does not prove/show citizenship
a birth certificate does not show/prove citizenship
we cannot even get our act together with passports so that we can go to the carribean. Look at Palin, she did not get a passport until she decided to go to Kuwait (yes, she did not go to Iraq) - to visit the Alaskan National Guard - and she lives next to Russia and Canada- one a bad country, and the other, our 52nd state (PR being the 51st).
Laurie-Anne, when I registered to vote (which was when the voting age was still 21), I had to show my birth certificate, photo ID, and naturalization papers proving that I was a citizen. I had to swear to all information I was providing, under penalty of law and sign the document. IT WAS THE RIGHT AND PROPER WAY TO DO IT!
Then Motor Voter came along, as a consequence of the demand of the Federal Government to simplify and streamline the voter registration process, theoretically to encourage more people to register and vote. Well, it encouraged people all right…just not those eligible to vote. This has been going on for a long time. Isn’t it odd how our country has been going to Hell in a hand basket since about the same time that this became policy? Coincidence?…I think not!!
AWC -
I hear you !
We need to get back and enforce standards.
I am having the same battle with university enrollment.
My daughter is in college in California, and illegal aliens are entitled to enroll there and pay in-state tuition. My daughter had to provide her SS#, A#, etc but the illegals are exempt.
I have a huge problem with this. University campuses are where the indoctrination and radicalization of our youth begins. The terrorists found cover in Hamburg by masquerading as students. A university campus offers great cover for those who wish us harm.
Personally, I feel that all students enrolled in a post-secondary institution that are over 18 should have to show either proof of citizenship or permanent residency, or be vetted as an authorized foreign student on a proper visa and their expiration dates should be tracked. We have a right to know who is here. Anyone else should be reported to ICE/DHS.

The problem is quite simply voter apathy. Look to the results of the last election. In Virginia, on average less than 25% of registered voters turn out to vote in local, state and federal elections. Many of the districts have candidates who run unopposed.
It won’t take a majority to control how things are done, only a majority of the small percentage of people who bother to show up and vote. And THAT has been, and will be the reason the tide of influence is shifting.
John McCain wants all these illegals to vote… it must be what he is banking on to win.

Pat,
Up until changes were put into place last year or maybe it was two years ago, we did not need to have a passport to visit Canada.
AWC: The country has not been “going” to hell on its own. It’s being sent there by uninvolved citizens.
What absolutely amazes me is that after all the voting debacle of 2000 and 2004, we are no better prepared to ensure a fair and proper election than we were back then; perhaps even less so. Unfortunately, we as American citizens have been asleep at the switch and have not demanded that our elected leaders stop this nonsense. I’m afraid that this time, it’s just one election too late.
The situation now is that we won’t have an election of Republican vs. Democrat, it has become an election of conservative vs. socialist ideology and what our country will be in the future.
The concept of “the American Dream” is fine, but realization of that dream must be earned. “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need” just can not survive….
High Rate of H-1B Visa Fraud
A study finds that 13% of the visa petitions for U.S. employers to bring in skilled foreign workers are fraudulent

Republican Jim Gilmore “‘The most important thing is to secure our borders. And, we must insist our immigration laws be enforced. ‘Illegal immigration is costing Virginia taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars each year and Congress needs to mandate the enforcement of our immigration laws”
Democrat Mark Warner “‘Finally, for those in the country illegally, blanket amnesty isn’t an option. Anyone who has broken the law should be immediately deported. ”
http://www.winchesterstar.com/showarticle_new.php?sID=6&foldername=20081009&file=illegal%20immigration%20_article.html
You really need to read between the lines with Warner’s statement. He is talking about illegals who have broken another law in addition to entering the U.S. illegally.
He wants to give illegals a path to citizenship. He has said this many times over the past few months.
Yes, I specifically asked him about illegal immigration and amnesty at the July 4th event in Old Town Manassas. He wants all illegal aliens who haven’t committed crimes (not including being in our country illegally, which is a crime) to have a pathway to citizenship.
Advocator, I warned of this economic crisis, as well as the apathy of which you speak, LONG ago…on these very pages, actually (at least as far as a public forum is concerned). Nobody really paid a lot of attention, including you. It’s a little late for that admonishment…and rather irrelevant at this stage of things.
My husband and I are new to Virginia and registered to vote this past Monday, just minutes before close-of-business (military I.D.’s were required as proof of identity). We received our cards a mere three days later on Thursday. We were shocked the applications were processed so quickly! Does this indicate there IS NOT a sufficient verification process in place?
On a separate topic, I attend GMU (Fairfax campus) and the “diversity” of the staff is surprising (i.e., food service, custodial, and shop workers). Heaven forbid I attempt to order anything in English and have anyone fully understand my request. In fact, one of the clerks in the General Store (which blasts hispanic music daily) chastised a co-worker for speaking to her in English…quote “You don’t speak to me in anything but Spanish!” I have no problem saying that this display infuriated me.
ANY UPDATE FROM VA OFFICIALS ON THE VOTER ID REQUIREMENTS …. SOUNDS LIKE NON-CITIZENS ARE ALLOWS TO REGISTER TO VOTE BECAUSE THERE ARE NO REASONABLE CONTROLS TO STOP THEM….SOUNDS LIKE VA SET IT UP THIS WAY ON PURPOSE.
THIS OUT TO THE MEDIA YET?
From http://www.openmarket.org/2008/10/09/voter-fraud-in-virginia-abetted-by-aclu/
People openly boast about fraudulently registering to vote in Virginia, a swing state, even though they actually live, and are registered to vote, in other states. The Norfolk, Virginia election board tried to do something about that, by making sure that people registering to vote in Virginia actually do live in the state. One way it did that was to send questionnaires to students who came from out-of-state to attend Virginia colleges, and then registered in Virginia, to see if those students really qualify as Virginia residents. It had every right to do that under federal court rulings, which hold that it is perfectly OK to require such proof of domicile (permanent residence) from everyone, students included.
However, the Obama campaign protested this, even though the Norfolk, Virginia election board is comprised primarily of Democrats, and represent a liberal stronghold. In response, state officials appointed by Virginia’s liberal governor, Tim Kaine, ordered the Norfolk election board not to send any more questionnaires to confirm students’ domicile, even though state election law requires domicile as a condition for voting and registration. The Norfolk board has followed this order under protest, even though it believes it violates state election law.
Now, the ACLU is bombarding local election officials (such as voting registrars) with letters claiming that the Supreme Court has ruled that students can register to vote, no questions asked, based on their temporary student residence — even if they are from out-of-state, have out-of-state license plates, pay taxes out-of-state, and recently registered to vote in another state.
Similarly, the Obama campaign is telling students that if they attend school in one state, but have a permanent residence in another, they can register in either state of their choosing — a virtual invitation to commit vote fraud.
The ACLU’s claim about the Supreme Court’s rulings is just wrong. It’s certainly contrary to my understanding of the law, and as a lawyer, I’ve handled Supreme Court cases, including successful voting rights cases. It’s also contrary to the understanding of George Mason University law professor Michael Krauss, who explains how the ACLU and others are misleading the public about what the courts held in Symm v. United States.
If out-of-state students can register in Virginia, despite not really living in the state, they may be able to parlay that into claiming lower in-state tuition rates — thus costing Virginia colleges and state taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I earlier chronicled strange things happening in Virginia, like Obama’s get-out-the-vote effort calling non-existent people in my household, as well as my infant daughter, to urge them to vote.
The left-wing activist group ACORN is active in registering voters in swing states, including imaginary people and minors. It has a long history of vote fraud and financial fraud. But little is being done about that, perhaps because it has close ties to liberal lawmakers, especially Obama.
Ladies and gentlemen, there is no longer any law in this country. If a law is inconvenient, you just ignore it and claim it to be discriminatory in some way. That lawless state that everyone feared is here, and those who supposedly have been elected to govern and see that the law is enforced are the most complicit.
AWCheney You are sooooooooo right. I am so tired of corrupt or ineffectual officials screwing the law abiding LEGAL citizens of this country. I hope every politician that is in office right now loses. Maybe that will send a message to the respective parties that we will not tolorate the status quo anymore. That they need to start doing what WE want, not what special interest groups or people that have money to grease dirty palms.
ACORN IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK ………..READ THIS WOW!
why rooting out voter fraud is so important read below
Found this an interesting read. I got it off of krlatownhall.com
the author is Burt Prelutsky This is a little history lesson of ACORN
…………………………………………………………………………………………
“As you may have noticed, left-wingers really hate to lose. That’s why, even eight years after the fact, they are still wringing their hands over the 2000 presidential election. They still insist that George W. Bush and the Republicans swiped it, even though several objective sources have since confirmed that, chads or no chads, Bush carried Florida, and that Sandra Day O’Connor, otherwise a heroine to leftists, was one of the Supreme Court justices who ruled against Al Gore, the candidate who couldn’t even carry his home state. Which is reason enough all of us should be forever grateful to the voters in Tennessee. ”
“The idea that the Democrats have been crying “Foul!” for eight long years should appeal to everyone who appreciates irony. For it is those on the far left who have done everything in their power to corrupt the election process. One of their chief means of doing so has been through the activities of a group known as ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). With approximately 175,000 dues-paying members, they own TV stations, businesses and periodicals, and have offices stretching from Canada to Peru, with over 80 offices in the U.S.”
“To give you some idea how all-encompassing the group is, they have schools where the children of leftists are trained in class-consciousness; they run boot camps for training street activists; and, like Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition, they extort money from banks and other businesses by threatening racial violence and trumped-up civil rights charges. One can almost imagine Marx, Lenin and Stalin, shaking their heads in admiration and hoisting their glasses in toast. ”
“Apparently, the members of ACORN have gained control of the New York City government, resulting in a rollback of welfare reform; the appointment of a politicized Civilian Review Board, empowered to prosecute police officers and ban racial and ethnic profiling in the city that experienced 9/11 firsthand; raise corporate taxes; and is attempting to prevent any corporation from fleeing the city without obtaining an “exit visa.” Even before Berkeley got around to having its own foreign policy, New York’s City Council, by a 31-17 vote, passed a resolution condemning the U.S. invasion of Iraq.”
“For several years, the leadership covered up the fact that Dale Rathke, the brother of Wade Rathke, who co-founded ACORN, had embezzled nearly a million dollars from the organization. Once the theft finally came to light, the excuse given for not informing the authorities was that those of us on the right would use it as an excuse to attack the group. That of course is an obvious lie. Those of us on the right have far better reasons than financial skullduggery to attack ACORN. In fact, I, for one, regard Dale Rathke as something of a folk hero. I say it was far better that he squandered his ill-gotten gains on wine, women and song, than that the group got to spend it subverting the democratic process. ”
“These people, self-proclaimed defenders of freedom, liberty and the working man — or, more often, non-working man — devote most of their energy and resources to making sure that they fix elections in much the same way that crooked gamblers fix fights. During the 2004 election cycle, ACORN ran a “voter mobilization drive” that resulted in countless allegations of fraudulent voter registration, vote-rigging and vote-for-pay scams. One of their specialties was registering convicted felons. Attorney generals in many states filed charges against several members of the group, charges that included voter-intimidation, vandalism and the destruction of voter registration forms.”
“What I have not been able to figure out is why the leaders of the group have not been indicted under RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) for taking part in an ongoing criminal organization. The only logical reason that the feds have backed off is because of ACORN’s close ties to organized labor. Tragically, in 2008 America, it’s not only individuals who are easily intimidated, but the government itself.”
“It’s no surprise that Barack Obama is ACORN’s choice for the White House. ACORN, after all, was created by those who subscribed to Saul Alinsky’s left-wing belief that class warfare is the only war worth fighting and that in order to win it, the ends always justify the means. And however much the left has recently attempted to pass off “community organizer” as a Christ-like vocation, everyone in his right mind knows that these days it’s code for Communist activist.”
“To my way of thinking, as catastrophic as it would be if Sen. Obama were to wind up in the White House, it would be far worse if he were to be elected because he and his colleagues had stolen the election. ”
“An acorn, as we all know, is a nut. ACORN, however, home to 175,000 nuts, are the seeds, not of mighty oaks, but of political stinkweed, and the sooner they’re eradicated, the better.”
Watch it, folks - if you press this identification stuff hard enough, you may get more than you wanted, as Bob Barr notes below:
Bob Barr Blasts McCain, Obama for Supporting National ID, Again Urges Congress to Repeal Real ID Act
August 1, 2008 2:47 pm EST
“Creating anything close to a national ID card threatens Americans’ basic civil liberties and privacy while doing little or nothing to make us more secure,” warns Barr. The legislation also “means higher fees, longer lines, and greater inconvenience for Americans getting a driver’s license. The burden on states, which have to redesign and remake state licenses and include all manner of information on citizens applying for new driver’s licenses, would be extremely high and immensely costly, since they would have to restructure computer databases, security systems, verification measures, and more.”
Th illegal aliens will vote in November. How do I know? They never left PWC, see all the ESOL students in our schools. The ones that you Greg told us that were gone.
********Urgent Request for Poll Watchers*********
WASHINGTON, D.C. — An estimated 1.2 to 2.7 million non-citizen immigrants who have registered to vote could be the tipping point in the November elections, according to a new study, “How Many Non-Citizen Voters? Enough to Make a Difference: The Impact of Non-Citizen Voting on the American Elections”, by immigration researcher, David Simcox.
The new study — to be released on October 7 in Washington, D.C. — estimates that in 2006 non-citizen voters ranged from:
– 127,000 to 235,000 in New York;
– 57,000 and 113,000 in New Jersey;
– 87,000 and 209,000 in Illinois;
– 476,000 to 700,000 in California;
– 146,000 and 232,000 in Florida;
– 161,000 to 333,000 in Texas; and
– 41,000 to 86,000 in Arizona.
The estimated totals nationwide of non-citizen voters in the 2006 elections range from 1,839,000 to 2,714,000 illegal voters according to the new study.
FIRE Coalition is requesting all members consider becoming local election judges or poll watchers. If all local positions are filled for election judges, or you are ineligible or cannot sacrifice an entire day, please become a poll watcher in your district.
Please contact the Republican or Democratic Party officials in your district and volunteer your services for the upcoming election as soon as possible (this week), as time may be running out to qualify. They can direct you to the proper entity to apply.
Each Party in each state/county has its own criteria for such things as assigning polling places, training to detect and properly report irregular voting practices and the ‘do’s’ and ‘do nots’ of behaving yourself in polling places.
You may be permitted cameras. Please check.
The number one thing is to get poll watcher credentials.
BLACK BOX VOTING is a good general guide for poll watchers
If you are in an area where there is a large concentration of illegal aliens, your participation is vital.
Your service to your country is invaluable in this effort.
If you are are currently or will be trained as an election judge or poll watcher, PLEASE indicate that on your profile at http://www.firecoalition.com/profile. You’ll need to check the box for volunteer first.. “A measure of the urgency for immigrants to enroll for their survival is the exhortation of a popular Univision comedian, Latino folk hero, and former il¬legal alien, Eddie Sotelo26 (popu¬larly known as “Piolin”). Soleto’s exhortation echoes the current back-to-the-wall rhetoric among illegal immigrants: “Si no votan, nos botan” (“If you don’t vote, they’ll throw us out”). There is no less urgency for citizens, naturalized and native. And they must decide whether voting should remain an exclusive attribute of citizenship and demand the safeguards to make it so. “
Keep up the fight!

Can someone PLEASE answer this question: If the jury selection process can weed out those who are ineligible to serve, why can’t the same rules/processes be applied to the voting process?
TDB,
It might be because the local Court officials are doing their jobs.
No small irony that part of the jury selection process involves choosing from the pool of registered voters -

Ohio seems to be on the road to working out voter fraud:
“A federal judge on Thursday ordered Ohio’s top elections official to verify the identity of newly registered voters by matching them with other government documents.
U.S. District Judge George C. Smith in Columbus ruled that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must perform verification required by the Help America Vote Act. That includes matching new registrants’ information against information in databases maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.”
