According to Channel 9 News, Culpepper, PWC and Loudon were among the top 25 areas of VA to welcome Hispanic Immigrants (channel 9 does not differentiate between legal and illegal).

Oddly enough, Fairfax wasn't mentioned in the news report.

Good point Maureen. Invitations were extended throughout last year to attend these meetings through the mayors office, but were declined. Since the city has a new major perhaps he would be interested in getting the info and passing it along to the council. It might be useful for the mayor and the council to attend this meeting and share what was learned from the experience the city has endured over the last few years.

Michael: The passport is the only fraud “free” document that is the most difficult to duplicate, but even it has people who can create passports using new pictures from stolen ones from the embassy (using inside illegal immigrant activists).

Dude - you are full of crap.

Try walking into any federal building downtown without a federal id. You can't even get into a federal building downtown without id issued by the agency, much less an embassy on foreign soil! Why do you embarass yourself like that? Think!

Theft is theft. One may ASSUME the the stolen identity does in fact belong to a "real" person. If the illegals are willing to take a chance it does not then that's their problem. It is still fraud to use another ID other than yours.

Just wait until Obama gets hold of the Supreme Court. You know how a case like this will turn out:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/20/AR2008102003508.html

Top Court to Hear Immigrant's Appeal in Identity-Theft Case

Tuesday, October 21, 2008; A10

The Supreme Court accepted a case yesterday that could impact the government's crackdown on illegal immigration, agreeing to review whether prosecutors must prove that defendants in aggravated identity-theft cases knew they were victimizing real people.

The justices will hear the appeal of Ignacio Flores-Figueroa, a Mexican illegal immigrant who used false identification to get a job at a steel plant. He was convicted of aggravated identity theft, a charge created in 2004 that carries a mandatory two-year prison term. It is increasingly being used against those picked up in federal raids on work sites that employ illegal immigrants.

Flores-Figueroa argued that the government failed to prove that he knew the fraudulent documents belonged to a real person as opposed to being fabricated. Lower courts in the case, accepting the Justice Department's position, ruled that the government did not have to prove that.

Overall, three appellate courts have rendered decisions backing the government; three have ruled otherwise. The Supreme Court is expected to resolve the dispute.

A loss for the government, experts said, would devastate its ability to use aggravated identity-theft charges against illegal immigrants because most of them do not know whether their fake IDs belong to someone else.

Unbelievable.

PWC is not currently a member of the Coalition, however Corey Stewart did attend this session and offered his advice on what should be recommended to the State Legislature. The Coalition will finalize its recommendations at the next meeting. A press conference and meeting will be set up in Richmond in January. We can only hope our legislators will listen to the Coalition. They don’t seem to want to listen to the citizens.

I attended one of these meetings earlier this year and there was not one representative from PWC. There were more than 30 people there comprising elected officials from all over the Commonwealth. Since we are leading the way in the Commonwealth, a representative from PWC should be at each and every meeting.

Michael @ 20 Oct 2008 at 9:40 pm:

Voter fraud to change the outcome of elections in favor of (gender, racial, ethnic and religious group special interest leadership) is far more prevalent than anyone has the political will to PROVE.

If you think this cannot happen, google Robert Dornan. Dornan was a Calif. congressman who lost his seat to a Latinia-Mexican-American (Sanchez.) Thousands of votes by Mexican illegals were proved to be cast for the Latina (who won.)

The Culpeper Coalition sounds like my kind of "study circle." This is good news.

Michael, I also fear there will be a staggering amount of fraud in this election, especially if the poll gap narrows. Just wait for the cries of "disenfranchisement!" if McCain manages to win.

The first THING they need to tackle is this, or we will not have the power as citizens to get any of this legislation passed. Prohibit and prevent non-citizen voter fraud, and require a mandatory screening of all voting registry rosters for proof of citizenship prior to elections.

I think the real threat to non-citizen voter fraud in this election, is that there WILL BE NO CHECK OF CITIZENSHIP on the voter registry rosters or at the polls.

No one will review the existing registry list for proof of citizenship, no one will take non-citizens off of the currently fraudulant voter registries, no one will ask anyone for proof of citizenship at the polls, only for proof of identity using one of several IDs that are easily obtained and in everyday use by non-citizens.

When you register to vote, no proof of citizenship is required, only proof of residency and proof of ID.

THIS will get you angry….

My green card carrying, valid driver’s license carrying non-citizen wife can register to vote if she wishes, and no one will ask her for proof of citizenship when she registers, and no-one will ask for proof of citizenship when she votes…

If you think there will not be massive voter fraud in this election you are naive (I estimate 1 million fraudulent non-citizen voters will vote in this state during this election), simply because they can and no one will check them for citizenship.

The only document that proves citizenship is a passport and valid (non-counterfeit) social security card.

The passport is the only fraud “free” document that is the most difficult to duplicate, but even it has people who can create passports using new pictures from stolen ones from the embassy (using inside illegal immigrant activists).

This is a blatent failure of the state election board to ensure only citizens are on the roster.

Great news. I think we need to ask our local officials when they are going to attend some of these meetings.
