Voting went well...got there about 9am after dropping my kids off at daycare (boss was nice enough to let me work from home) and was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. I was voter #204 in the M-R line (wasn't sure what numbers they were on for the other three lines)...my neighbor was there campaigning (at the required distance from the door) and she said that I just missed the long line...from before 6am until just before 9am, the line was out the door and around the school building.

The gal in front of me was a first-time voter...had her ID and her voter's registration card and looked a little nervous. When the volunteer checked the girl in, she announced to the whole gymnasium, "we have a new voter here!" and everyone...the volunteers and all the voters (including those actively voting) all cheered and clapped for her. Everything went smooth as usual.

those fatties on the other site are really living it up today, you would have thought they won the election for Obama. Sounds like a damn Scientologist convention over there. Change, Change, Change when all I want is a damn dollar. For some reason every time I hear the word "change" now I actually hear "tax" instead, must be something wrong there.

Once all the touch feelie breast feeding stops over there hopefully that blog will die off and we can discuss some real issues and solutions here without those nuts intruding but hey, just like king arthur needed a court jester these village idiots do provide some entertainment.

After it's all said and done Elena and Alanna are still fat and KG is flat out disgusting and mean. Barrack Obama in the white house is not going to change that unless he puts them on a mandatory exercise program and closes all the Krispy Kremes, 5 guys and Mcdonalds in a 200 mile radius but I doubt that's going to happen.

I.B.O.B,

Re: "Village People Alum"...Does that thought excite you?

Actually, I'm the wife of a naval officer (15 years of service). Sorry if this fact dispels any fantasies you may have harbored about a possible connection to the Village People.

You weren't able to sufficiently answer my "hero" question. I would give you props (or whatever the current slang is these days) for a good effort, but it was merely chanting on your part. Obama may be many things, but a hero he is not.

At work today, a guy a work with had an "I voted" sticker on his shirt that had part of the bottom missing. I asked about it, and he said that the bottom half said "I voted" in SPANISH. He ripped it off and told them he could keep it.
Speak ENGLISH dammit.

Volunteered at Metz all morning.

No issues other than a few people confused over the "city-wide ballot" thing. We let a Wolf campaign officer know that some people may have missed their opportunity to vote for the Congressman.

Obama volunteer got all up in our faces when some volunteers started handing out actually-informative information to people, as opposed to just the sample ballots. Of course, she didn't seem to think there was a problem with her always going into the polling place to "help" people get situated.

Met a delegation from Portugal who was in the U.S. observing the election. They were wonderful folks and were very fascinated with our whole process.

Heavy turnout but never much of a line. The poll workers did a fantastic job today and deserve our thanks.

We went to Parkside Middle School at 5:30 pm. No line. A crowd of bored to death activists outside. We voted. Then in accordance with tradition I changed the "VO" to "FAR" on my "I Voted" sticker.

We heard that Chick fil A was giving out free chicken sandwiches to anyone with an "I Voted" sticker so we went there. They gave me a chicken sandwich even though my sticker was altered.

I saw one guy at the polling station (PWC) with a shirt with a mushroom cloud on it with "Made In America" above it and "Tested In Japan" below it.

I told him that that was a rather amusing but thoroughly politically incorrec t-shirt he was wearing and he said he wore it so he wouldn't be asked who he voted for on the way out.

Went and voted during my lunch break at Pattie Elem and the line went pretty quickly. I affirmed my id rather than present a credential and was processed very quickly.

A voter had complained earlier that the machines (screens) were visible to people in line and we couldn't vote for about 8-10 minutes while they spun the machines around, applied duct tape to the cables to keep them tied down as best they could and to put tape on the ground telling people where to go.

All in all it was a good experience. Voted 2 Repubs and 1 Dem tonight. The Precinct Captain seems to run Pattie very smoothly. Haven't had an issue voting there ever.

wondering if anybody else ran into this potential "glitch?"

spouse voted at 6am at Haydon elementary in the city where the machines were set up with two ballots -- Citywide or Presidential --??

after selecting Citywide -- you got to vote for president, senator and congressperson.

so -- after selecting WOLF -- screen verification came back the vote had been for FEDER??

WTH???

managed to get that corrected. good thing paying attention.

fast forward nearly four hours later and guess what??

same "glitch" happened for my vote.

neither of us thought anything of it.

until we compared experiences and discovered the identical issue had occurred??

is something up??

just in case, we've alerted the Wolf campaign....
