Wolf Wins 10th District

Early returns indicate that Frank Wolf has once again dispatched the hapless socialist Judy Feder in the 10th District. Wolf has been strong on immigration issues over the last year, and it’s an expected piece of good news to see him re-elected amidst so much wishy-washiness on the immigration issue in national politics.

But Feder ran a good campaign, considering she had to do it from within the walls of St. Elizabeth!
In victory, magnanimity…
Better late than never (strong on immigration issues over the last year). Welcome to the bus, Frank.
What is telling is many of those who did not vote for McCain, voted for Wolf. Put another way, many of those who voted for Obama, did not vote for Feder. Honest question: What are we to make, if anything, of this data-point? Does it indicate a more independent streak in the 10th’s electorate? Were there a lot of Republicans who voted for Obama to punish Bush, who still want to be represented by Wolf, or are there Democrats who wanted Obama, but not Feder?
This is the 10th District, Flavius. I’ve lived here for thirty years. Don’t ask any questions. You’ll never get a straight answer.
Flavius - I voted Obama, Wolf, and Warner. I admire Wolf greatly, even though I don’t agree with many of his more traditionally Republican positions. He has an independent streak and is very responsive to his constituents. I respect him. And this isn’t the first time I have voted for him.
