Help Ken Cuccinelli

By Greg L | 12 November 2008 | Virginia Politics | 15 Comments

While there has been a spate of Republicans who seem to act at times as anything but Republican (or conservatives for that matter) there are a few proven conservative candidates out there who are running and can use your support.  One of them is Senator Ken Cuccinelli who is running for Attorney General.  He needs to gather a few thousand signatures for his nomination contest and do so by Thanksgiving, and I’m pretty sure that BVBL readers would want to help him out.

Go to Ken’s website and offer your help with his campaign.  Sign up to be a delegate, and if you can spare some bucks, I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.

John Brownlee is a better candidate. I support him.

Brownlee has proven himself to be an outstanding investigator and prosecutor, actually inclined to ferret out corruption and put an end to it. Unfortunately, government/political corruption has also become such a norm here in Virginia that people have begun to take it for granted. Maybe he’s just what we need in that office.

If Ken will stop “illegal” immigration and prosecute all those contributing to “illegal immigration” he’ll get my vote just like Frank Wolf did, and any other politician who will support “law” over “gender, religious, racial and ethnic group politics. My vote went to Obama, because of McCain’s support for religious group fanatics over law, legality and “individual rights” to common “individual right based protective law”. I am a Republican, but I will not vote for fanatics at either extreme (liberal or conservative).

I wonder if John Brownlee supported Faisal Gill.

    I doubt it.

He also didn’t accuse Harry Parrish of mudslinging and baby killing.

I strongly encourage all Republicans to sign to uniform petition that McDonnell, Bolling, Cuccinelli, Brownlee and Foster all agreed to. These 5 candidates all deserve to be on the ballot and our party should and must have a vigorous contest for the AG slot. It is disappointing to me that some of Cuccinelli’s supporters, after all 5 campaigns agreed to collect signatures for all, created their own petitions without the other AG candidates.

I have not endorsed yet in this race and have said nothing but good things about all these candidates but these kind of procedural tricks over substantive debate are not what we need. Just my 2 cents.

The more you learn about Cuccinelli and some of his supporters, the more that will not surprise you.

Cuccinelli will be very competitive in a convention, remember how Marshall almost toasted Gilmore? Brownlee is largely unknown although a nice enough guy, he does not have any connections with the conservative Catholics, homeschoolers, progun and prolifers who know how to “rock” a convention. I think Cuccinelli is a fine candidate, what are you naysayers so worked up about?

    2 Questions:

    Who is Fasil Gill?

Surely Ken did not call Hal Parrish the Mayor a baby killer?

To be fair, he did not use those exact words (although there were some in the individual’s campaign he was supporting who did, backed by Cuccinelli’s denigration of Harry’s exemplary pro-life record in his many years in the General Assembly)…close enough though.

Faisal Gill was the pitiful and fortunately unsuccessful Republican nominee to represent the 51st District in the Virginia HOD.

I like Brownlee because he is a former federal prosecutor and he was an Army Ranger. Hooah!
