Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!   Here’s wishing that you still in Virginia are getting as white a Christmas as our family is.  The girls really did enjoy the foot of nice powder at “Cookin’ Grandma’s” yesterday, and are really looking forward to Christmas carols at Church tonight, and of course the aftermath of Santa’s visit tomorrow morning.

Of course this time of year is about something much more than Santa and nice fluffy snow at Grandma’s, although those things are nice, too. Courtesy of bible.com, the real reason behind the season as is so beautifully recorded in the Gospel of Luke…

Luke 2

1And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

20And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

    merry x-mas all,

unfortunately I cannot find the goodness in my heart to wish the anti crowd a merry christmas and I hope they rot in hell. I still think they are worse than the fungus on the bottom of cow-patties.

In the spirit of the season, A Christmas Carol from Arlo Guthrie (if you weren’t alive and protesting in the 60’s, you probably won’t get it).

Why do you sit there so strange?
Is it because you are beautiful?
You must think you are deranged
Why do police guys beat on peace guys?

You must think Santa Clause weird
He has long hair and a beard
    Giving his presents for free
Why do police guys mess with peace guys?

    Let’s get Santa Clause ’cause;
Santa Clause has a red suit
    He’s a communist
And a beard, and long hair
    Must be a pacifist
What’s in the pipe that he’s smoking?

Mister Clause sneaks in your home at night.
He must be a dope fiend, to put you up tight
Why do police guys beat on peace guys?

I would like to take the time to bless all of the families with beloved children who have lost their lives this year at Osbourn High School. My heart is still breaking for these families and we need to keep them in our prayers. Also keep watch over all of those that attend Osbourn because the heartache is still present in all of us.
Merry Christmas to all of you and have a wonderful and safe New Year!

    Jay,

If you are trying to imply that Christmas shouldn’t be celebrated at all, because the trappings and symbols chosen to represent the season were also used by Pagans to celebrate the winter solstice, the least you could do is get the right bunch of Pagans to reference. The tree, the Yule log, wreaths, Holly and mistletoe were borrowed from the Germanic tribes, Picts, Celts who lived within the boundries of the empire, but were most certainly NOT Roman. I suppose that pesky nativity scene that liberal secular progressives want banned from the public square was borrowed too?

Blue state? Are you another liberal who wants to destroy the Country? Why do people move from liberal areas to Conservative areas? People do not move from Conservative areas to liberal areas. I have never heard of people moving from an area because taxes were too low and crime was too low. Yet, we see liberals who have ruined many areas moving to non liberal areas.

That’s not a concern of libtards. It’s the way they operate online, and their lives in general.

More than likely someone from the anti-site trying to earn stripes. They’ll drop a bomb (figuratively, of course) then report back to the ‘nest’ that they have beat the denizens here in some great intellectual argument.

Pitiful thing really, but when one’s brain stem only has enough horsepower to barely grunt, what do ya expect?

    that’s pretty interesting,

wonder if that’s the same fool over on the other site who posted all the personal information about the supervisors family and such on the website for all the see (it’s noteworthy to mention that the management over there left it up for quite some time before it was removed)

why do people have to take shots at the kids? Kids have no clue what their parents are up to for the most part and generally dont even care as long as they are fed and clothed, etc.

People who do that stuff are just looking for a rise out of people, either that or they are just a$$holes.

There’s no identifying information on this “pipe” miscreant other than this is coming from a Cox account, most likely in Fairfax County. Although it’s annoying to have some fool decide that attacking my kids is a good idea, it does sort of demonstrate where the other side is coming from. They can be a thoroughly despicable lot sometimes.

There are plenty of similar comments that got caught in the spam/troll traps which readers aren’t being subjected to. I’ve generally avoided even mentioning my family for this reason, but had hoped that the tolls would give things a rest during Christmas. They didn’t.

So next time the other side claims some sort of moral superiority, just remember what you’ve seen here.
