3 Cheers for the 10th Amendment Movement

I'm pleased to see the growing movement in State legislatures around the country to remind Americans of the existence and import of the 10th amendment to the Constitution. It reads simply "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." These words first of all firmly and unequivocally establish that the U.S. government has only the powers delegated to it by the Constitution of the United States on the authority of the sovereign people of the United States by whom it is ordained and established. The State governments, established by sovereign decision of the people of the respective States, continue to enjoy the powers vested in them by their State constitutions, subject only to the specific prohibitions spelled out in the U.S. Constitution.

For many years I've stressed the importance of the 10th amendment as it guards against the establishment of consolidated, despotic power at the national level. For a while I was met by incomprehension, incredulity and some ridicule from people who insisted that the Courts have eliminated the 10th amendment from the Constitution through their refusal to respect and enforce it. (This is, by the way, the same argument some are using to excuse the palpable dereliction of Federal Judges and officials who refuse to demand proof that the Alleged Usurper in the White House satisfies the Constitution's eligibility requirement.) However as I have often said, a long string of cases in which the Courts have willfully ignore the Constitution is not a weighty line of precedents, but a long train of abuses.

      Are democrats anti-American?

That's the question crack journalist Xelan Bonn asked recently in a
conversation with yours truly.

"If Congress amnesties 12-24 million criminal immigrants, then, under
current law, they would have the right to bring in their families as well,
which could happen over the next few years," Bonn said. "The average
immigrant would be expected to bring in four family members. If we assume
there are only 20 million criminal immigrants in the US now that will get
amnesty, then that means 80 million more get to come in for a total hit of
100 million---most in the poverty class, most a burden on society and
taxpayers, yes, but the worse part... democracy dies and a one party system
is created."

      [Reference Operation Safe America report]

Bonn talked on, "According to current statistics, there is about a 99%
conversion factor for those who emigrate from Latin countries who now
register as Democrats, once legalized to vote. If we assume 80% of all new
immigrants under an unconstitutional amnesty bill are Latin, that's 80
million Latino immigrants, of which, 79 million will become registered
Democrats. That would make the Republican Party essentially meaningless in
terms of vote power---hence a dead party---hence remove the checks and
balances of a two party system from our government. The Republican Party
would become as impotent as other independent parties (Libertarian, etc.)."

Right now, Democrats make up about 40.9% of all registered voters (
reference AND) with Repubicans at 32.8% and Independents at 26.6% (169
million total of January 2009).

Bonn said, "After amnesty, the numbers would be dramatically changed:
60% Democrats (149 million), 22% Republicans (54 million) and 18%
Independents (44 million). Even if the Republicans and Independents unite,
they would be well short of having enough power to affect checks and
balances on government.

"This means if amnesty passes, rewarding millions of criminal aliens
with US citizenship for breakng our laws, then within 10-12 years (which is
how long it will take to get everyone on the bus and legalized), the US will
be under a one party system with the Democrats permanently in control.

"Hitler used the National Socialist German Workers Party to ensure a
dictatorship---that was the ruling party from 1933 to 1945---they came to
power in the aftermath of the Great Depression (the collapse of their
economy and currency appears frightening similar to the US's state of
affairs now). Joseph Stalin was the General Secretary of the Communist Party
of the Soviet Union's Central Committee from 1922 until his death in 1953.
Single works for socialist and fascist, but not for democracies. Yet the
patterns seem to be repeating with only superficial changes to the players
and their approaches."

As our conversation wound down, I couldn't help the sinking feeling
that Americans do not understand their own predicament whether Democrats or
Republicans. If the amnesty passes, millions of foreigners will displace
Americans within their own country. The latest PEW report showed black and
white America will become the new minority at 47 percent by 2042. In other
words, Americans will become minorities in their own country and their
culture and language displaced and obliterated. We stand like deer in the
headlights, tied to the railroad tracks with a train bearing down on us,
tip-toeing on glass at the deep end of the pool with our hands tied behind
our backs, and worse, we disembowel ourselves with our own apathy.

"The question is," Bonn said. "Will Republicans pull out all the stops
and start educating the public to the pitfalls of an unconstitutional
amnesty before Congress gets around to it, or will US citizens, Democrats
and Republicans alike, stand up and fight for democracy--or will the new era
regime cleverly disguised as "change you can count on" sweep over the
country like a dark zephyr of fascism painted the colors of red, white, and
Democrat? Will Harry Reid, Barack Obama, and Nancy Pelosi--aka Mad Uncle
HOP--come to their senses, or by design, have they intended such an internal
destruction of America and its two party system using treason disguised as
humanity? What do you think?"

Man! I'm becoming more depressed by the day! When I think of every
combat soldier from Valley Forge to the sands of Iraq-and how this Congress
usurps our culture, language and borders-I wanna' scream. This Congress
dismantles our country by design. What ally do the most appreciate in their
task?

The ubiquitous apathy of American citizens!

Pelosi is a leftist freak of nature, I doubt many people actually take her seriously. She's obviously partaken too much of the medicinal marijuana offered in california, most likely laced with PCP or some other hallucenigen (LSD is popular in her neck of the woods). That could be why these far left liberals are so whacky..drugs!

As for illegal aliens getting in state tuition, what the hell are people thinking? these cretin dont deserve anything whatsoever except a quick trip back to mexico, etc..

dont care if they pay out of state tuition, but in-state no way! the anti's think this will help things if we coddle the invaders. Maybe if we start giving more hand-outs they will rape less and molest less children? maybe they will commit less murders in our community?

when I think about it, a quick search of anti mentions absolutely nothing about illegal alien crime in our community, nothing...apparently they either think it doesnt matter or think it doesnt exist. I've always been of the mind the leftist twits over there love illegals because if they left the country they would loose their slaves and servants.

Sounds like conditions here....except,of course, American unions actively court foreign workers. Kinda like handing someone your knife so they can cut your throat.
Dawn of new age of industrial unrest as wildcat strikes spread across UK - Times Online

Wildcat strikes flared at more than 19 sites across the country in response to claims that British tradesmen were being barred from construction jobs by contractors using cheaper foreign workers.

Mr Brown, in Davos for the World Economic Forum, was caught by surprise when a ten-day-old strike at an oil refinery in Lincolnshire sparked copy-cat action at other energy plants. Unions claim that British workers are being barred from jobs because of a European Union directive which allows companies to bring in foreign labour for less than they would have to pay to Britons.

The Prime Minister was forced to order an investigation into the claims by the Arbitration and Conciliation Service in order to contain the spreading unrest. But Labour MPs last night emphasised that the wildcat strikes were a warning of mass industrial unrest ahead as the grip of recession tightens on the economy. Jon Cruddas, the Labour MP for Dagenham, urged ministers to act urgently to take the race issue out of the jobs market.

Thousands of engineering, construction and maintenance staff from at least 19 sites around the country took action in support of the Lindsey oil refinery employees. Many held placards quoting Mr Browns soundbite. Oil refineries, power stations and chemical plants were affected as thousands of staff downed tools.

About 1,000 protested outside the Lindsey refinery at North Killingholme, Lincolnshire, where about 100 Italian and Portugese workers have been brought in by contractors in preference, unions claim, to British employees. The dispute prompted sympathy strikes at Grangemouth oil refinery in Scotland, the Aberthaw power station near Barry, in South Wales, a refinery in Wilton, Teesside, Kilroot power station in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, a gas terminal at Milford Haven, West Wales, the Fiddlers Ferry power station near Warrington and a number of other smaller sites.

The rapid spread of the dispute through key energy facilities revived memories of the fuel protests in September 2000, when unofficial blockades of refineries threatened to bring the county to a standstill. The disruption looks set to continue into next week. A spokesman for British Nuclear Fuels said that 900 contractors at the Sellafield nuclear plant in Cumbria plan to meet before work on Monday to discuss taking their own industrial action.

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income

Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying.. Read below............

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.

Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas , it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!

  This woman is frightening.
She quotes.." We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest." (I am not rich, are you?)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:
"We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as Americans." (Read that quote again and again and let it sink in. Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it.

Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house!

Ive seen that story rick, thanks for posting it on the other blog. It's not about any one person although Elena certainly epitomizes the group as a whole who feel something should be given for nothing and that illegal aliens really are not illegal, just disadvantaged people who should be given handouts.

I'm just tired of people getting stuff on the backs of others. The article you posted above hit's it right to the core. Illegals and the leftist fools on the other blog who support them, believe just about everything is a "right" which is sick. Illegals count on people to feel sorry for them and when they dont get what they want they cry some more and hope eventually that someone comes to their rescue. Ship them all back so we dont have to worry about the whining anymore.

It's not really all about Elena, is it? Isn't she just a woman who owns or runs a blog for discussion?

I found this online, it's a preview of a story to be run in tomorrow's Washington Post :

Juan Gonzales has a tear in his eye. The 27 year-old resident of Fairfax has just learned that his sprawling 1.2 acre house has been foreclosed.

"I pay taxes, every time I buy food", says Gonzales in Spanish. "Someone should have looked out for me. And I'm angry. I barely have money now to pay for the crayons for my children". Although the public school system in Fairfax pays for Juan's 3 children to attend, and ESOL classes for the eldest, crayons are not covered after the first few breakages. Juan also occasionally has to pay for extra milk for the children - free school lunches only cover a single, small, carton of milk.

"If they didn't want to pay for us to have a house, why would they pay for my child's birth and make him a US citizen without a home?" asks Maria, Juan's wife, in a rich deep Spanish baritone. Maria works as a food processing consultant at the McDonald's around the block. Though she is still employed nearly full-time, Juan's day labor income has dried up to the point that sacrifices are needed on a daily basis. "Yesterday I had in my shopping cart some tortillas, some candles for the Virgin Mary, and some crayons. I could only afford two." Maria chose the tortillas and the crayons.

Sadly the problem continues to perpetuate. Unable to afford luxuries like birth control, Maria is pregnant and will be dropping anchor again in 6 months.

"I am worried that we may have to move to an apartment, where the poor white people live" Maria confides. "It is not so good there. And if we have to move, I do not know what will happen to our 19 renters."

you wont see this on anti:

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2009/01/30/20090130gns-gangs0130.html

who wudda thunk that gangs follow illegal immigration paths? who would have EVER thought that they two were intertwined? I guess not the idiots on anti...apparently they are all too willing to dole out in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. Hell, Elena even thinks that illegals pay taxes as she considers sales tax (which everyone HAS to pay) a qualifier. I couldnt believe my eyes folks. Illegals deserve NO benefits, either in state tuition or anything else except a quick trip across the border. If they want in state tuition, let Elena pay it.
