My congre$$man Gerald Connolly said this in response to my questions about spending $850B + interest "I share your concerns about wasteful government spending and have joined my colleagues in agreeing to prohibit any pork-barrel projects. That's why we eliminated projects like the $200 million renovation of the National Mall. As Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, I balanced the budget every year. I know the importance of cutting costs and eliminating inefficient government programs." I can only think that Gov Tim probably thought thi$ field trip to DC wa$ a nece$$ary government program?? I just missed where the VA legislature approved this expense. My wife tells me she thought VA had a budget crises. I seem to recall some dust-up a few years back, where Kaine provided buses for some liberal-cause rally on the Mall, and requested reimbursment only after it was discovered and reported. Congress can vote themselves pay raises. What do all three of those have in common? These items are paid for with tax money-our money. However, banks providing bonuses, companies wanting to buy jets, etc is a bad thing. All because obama and the dems say so. nancy "blinky" pelosi says one way to ease the economic crisis is for women to have more abortions since they are too many people who are straining the system(never mind she supports keeping illegals here) This week she says with the passing of the fair wage bill and the passing of an expanded health care bill, that it is all because the dems put women and children first.
