Nutbag Alert: This Friday In Manassas

When civic vandal Gaudencio Fernandez put up his newest version of a billboard decrying the existence of national borders, he had a lot to tell us about how he and his lawyer worked hard to ensure that the new structure adhered to the building and zoning codes in the City of Manassas. A week later, at a court hearing about the multiple notice of violations he received for constructing this monstrosity, he suddenly claimed to not have a lawyer and was granted a continuance to this Friday. That delay has allowed the Chicago-based Immigrant Solidarity Network to help organize protests in Manassas, where the Mexica Movement crowd and their hangers-on can complain that Fernandez isn’t getting equal treatment, as if the leniency he got for over a year the last go-around would have ever been afforded to anyone other than an ethnic grievance monger like Fernandez.
So the circus continues this Friday, starting at 10AM, according to this email alert from Barry Carter, who pointed out during last year’s May Day events in DC that no “native americans” should ever be subject to borders in between rallies promoting FMLN candidates for the elections in El Salvador. If you’re the right ethnic group, the law doesn’t apply to you in this utter nutbag’s view.

Our free speech rights are being suppressed once again. This weekend Gaudencio Fernandez led in the placement of a sign on his property at 9500 Liberty Street in Manassas VA. With in hours racist with Save Manassas contacted the town officials and the building inspector issued a stop work order. The police were called. Our people continued to erect the sign. The sign is complete now and reads:
President Obama, Eliminate the Borders that Divide and Conquer People of Color! Stop Deportations!
Stop 287g in Prince William County and Manassas City! Support United Families and Education for all!Town officials have taken Gaudencio and Delia to court with an effort to get them to stop construction and remove the sign. His court date is Friday at 10AM. We have a march and rally planned for Friday leaving from the wall at 9500 Liberty Street in Manassas VA and walking to the court house.
We need as many people to show up for the march as possible or to call email or write or Fax their support for our rights for free speech. If you call please also follow up with an email or fax. If we do a Freedom of Information Act request we can get copies of all people who have written for or against the free speech. It always helps when 95% of the population is for something and we’ll have the data to prove this. Email addresses below.

Friday should be a lot of fun. A bunch of outsiders start pounding the Manassas City Council with emails, hoping that when they later do a FOIA of the emails they just sent this will establish some sort of statistical evidence that most people think we shouldn’t have borders and we really need more illegal aliens during an economic downturn. It’s interesting that they think an organization called “save manassas” is wholly responsible for all the outrage in the city, and that it wouldn’t have anything at all to do with this being the fourth highly visible insult that Fernandez has delivered upon the residents of the city. I can just imagine what the protest is going to be like.
Mark my words: nothing will damage the image of the illegal alien lobby in the eyes of the residents of Manassas more than this outrageous behavior. Let’s hope they do their best to fulfill this prediction.

I find that offensive as I am a real Native American, How dare they play a victim (A fake one at that) in the name of a group of REAL Victims. And FYI, Of course Indian Tribes had a border, Each tribe possessed certain lands that only they could live, hunt and farm on.

Everything had been so quiet, and peaceful. Then, it was Fernandez who single handedly started this whole mess again, and the only reason is what? They need to make him tear down the billboard and heavily fine him, but don’t throw him in jail. That’s exactly what he wants, so he can become a martyr for the movement. He wouldn’t need a billboard after that. He would become the spokesman without the need for a sign.
Just sent emails to the Manassas folks telling them I support their actions regarding the laws on the books. We can’t choose which laws to enforce and which ones we let slide, we’d then become like the federal gov’t if we did that. Also sent an email stating my support for the zoning laws to the National Immigration Solidarity Network. How about a counter march?
Everyone should know that he put the original sign back up.
I guess he is just daring the City of Manassas to do something about it.
The word should go out to empty downtown Manassas…let them march through a ghost town. I’m not suggesting that the shops should close, but I’m suggesting that the streets should empty. Then again, it probably wouldn’t hurt for the shop-keepers to lock down and take a well-earned break…they may need to for their own safety.
This sort of thing (bringing in out-of-towners to stir up trouble because the locals won’t) has been happening since the 1960’s. I remember the stories of numerous cars with DC tags (HIGHLY unusual sight…no 66) showing up in Manassas at events, particularly those involving young people. What they didn’t count on was that black and white got along fairly well around here…and they all loved their town.
By the way, this occurred during the time that “Washington was burning.”

Yes, but an inflatable rat would not fall under zoning regulations…it’s not a structure.
Another sign, tied high between two trees, has been added
since yesterday afternoon — it is a copy of the last sign
that he took down months ago — even to still lambasting
Mayor Waldron, who left office last summer.
They’re trying to strangle us with our own Constitution.
That being an historic district, I believe that there are also ordinances regarding the size of signs. There is absolutely no way that Mr. Fernandez’s actions can be justified on Constitutional grounds. Frankly, although I abhor the very concept of Eminent Domain, I’m beginning to feel that the suggestion made earlier that it might be a solution may well be the best way to end this.
I thanked the City Council for their actions last Monday night. Most people in Manassas will not tolerate inaction on the sign this time around.

headlined “Mr. Fernandez, Take Down That Sign”.)
Maureen, there has never been “inaction”, although it
may seem like it sometimes. This is an issue of law
and must go through a legal process to move forward.
Fernandez has attempted to goad Manassas to do
something rash and open itself to a lawsuit - it won’t.
The city will see this through properly - in court.

So, Maureen, tough talk by you, but what law school did you go to where they teach skip trial, go straight to jail? Russian law school?
And by the way, stop grandstanding. You should know better.

Law schools in the USA do not teach “skip trial, go straight to jail” Perhaps that is the rule of law in Russia, but it is not the rule here.
Grandstanding and rhetoric is no substute for substance. The matter is now in court. In a democracy, that’s where the “action” is. It’s not in the streets through mob rule, or through the government having increased unfettered power.
cute puppy dog there were two 1/2 years of violations cited for that property and not once was anything done about it. It wasn’t until a FOIA was filed and the information put out to the public that any action was taken.
Fernandez had a trial last year and he was ordered to take the sign down. You don’t have to be a lawyer to understand the laws.

I am offended by this nutbag too, I am native Cherokee. My family lived in Georgia but the tribe had most of the land in North Carolina, Tennesee, Georgia and Parts of Southern Virginia. We hunted buffalo in the “Traces” for 5000 years. Prior to that the Paleo-Indians from France (clovis indians) lived in North Carolina to Delaware, but were killed by a large asteroid that exploded abouve the Eastern US 12,000 years ago. My ancestors came from BOTH FRANCE AND RUSSIA (Native north American Indians). These IDIOTS are liars about who is native and who is not. The 500 “legal” Indian nations of the current US lands were ALL divided into borders between warring tribes. Only those few tribes (like the Cherokee) and the Northern Nations of 5 peaceful federated tribes in New England, shared trade but STILL HAD BORDERS THEY FOUGHT OVER.
These “native people” are LIARS.
I hope Fernandez gets jail time or at least a HUGE FINE for the pain and emotional harm he has done to me and my family.
AWC , you are right, the city needs to declare eminent domain, and put a new sewage line right through 9500 Liberty. It would stink much less than it does right now, and even look better.
