Great Board… I think all illegals should pay a fee to get a Seasonal work permit, and if caught without one, should be sent to jail and serve the chain gain for approx. 1 year to earn back what they took from us. I mean lets face it, there are jobs that are here that only a Mexican can do. Like spear backer or pack mators. They will work for less, the U.S. gets revenue from the Aliens and the Business owners can save by paying less. While here, they should be under the same laws as being on Parol or Probation, needing to contact by phone a self service work permit line, and if the person fails to comply, the employer gets a notice and if continues to work that person, be fined with possible jail sentance. I dont have a problem with people from another country working here, but if they are going to do it to make more, pay less and take advantage of my Childrens future and my country. Then they should lose too. We can work together, but we have to do it right and keep it in the books. We are failing because our borders run thin. and no one can seem to enforce the rules. If we made it easier for them to come into our country, and still give them the opportunity to earn for their families, but still help the U.S. recover, (as long as they follow the rules) then maybe less will try to jump the fence and use the door. - D Stiel

The civil rights thing is bogus and the opposition KNOWS IT. LEs develop “criminal profiles” ALL THE TIME. Heck you see it on TV too! The latinos/hispanics (in particular) just so happen to be the largest group associated with illegal immigration (NO ONE CAN DENY THIS FACT). Look at the news stories that come out daily and stats from the feds….who are the perps? Primarily latinos/hispanics. So get over the nonsense! When latinos/hispanics are picked up and charged for illegal immigration they try to use civil rights as a “defense”. Why? They use it as a smoke screen to continue their illegal activities because they know that the pc crowd gets crazy over it and they have no other legit excuse! Sheriff Joe is doing his job and he is doing it well! The people he is rounding up are illegal immigrants….therefore….he is doing something right! Funny…when I see stories about other illegal immigrants (non-latino/hispanic) being caught…I do not hear a word from the latino/hispanic community about those events??? Why is that???

So, now the new Adm. will try to silence Sheriff Joe of Arizona for enforcing the immigration laws under the guise that the Sheriff violated the illegals’ civil rights. Why? Maybe the embarrassment associated with not enforcing the immigration laws. No, it is just part of a pattern - silence those who oppose their wimpy, liberal policies - Talk Radio, Law Enforcement enforcing the law …… Who will be their next target?

I perform all work around my place if I can. For all work that I need a contractor for, the contractor must provide me proof that they only use legal workers (OR THEY DO NOT GET THE JOB….PERIOD). I suggest that everyone that does not already implement this practice do so. In fact, go to the “Do the Right Thing” on Help Save Manassas and talk to some of those business owners.

This is one case where the victims got what they deserved. They hired an illegal, in all likelyhood didn’t inquire not care about immigrations status, paid her under the table and no one withheld nor paid taxes. How are they repaid for their “enlightened” ways? They are robbed blind!

On another note, the Fugitive of the week in the MJM is…. another hispanic. That’s two for two now. The paper hasn’t said if he and the other one that was arrested for killing the guy housesitting are illegals, yet.

Crowd gathers to protest immigrant detention center

FARMVILLE — About 150 people have gathered here today to protest plans to build a privately-run detention center for illegal aliens.

Immigration activists and organizations from across the state descended on the town to hear speakers and music before holding a march later today. The protest is expected to end at 5 p.m.

Opponents hope to derail plans for the privately owned, 1,040-bed detention facility, though Town Manager Gerald J. Spates has said efforts to build the facility are on track, with the site cleared and the permits obtained.

“We are here to say no to the construction of this new detention center,” said Gaudenzio Fernandez, an immigration activist from Manassas. “We should all come together.”

The contract to operate the facility will be between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the town. A subcontractor, ICA-Farmville, will run the $21 million, 125,000-square-foot facility.

Town officials have said the center will provide 200 badly needed jobs and an $8.2 million payroll and generate $716,730 in taxes annually.

Opponents are using the late-November death of Guido Newbrough in the Piedmont Regional Jail’s illegal-immigrant detention center against the project. — Jamie C. Ruff

I do not know if deporting all the illegals would be considered christian ( and if it is unchristian I could care less) but I sure would like to see t deportation become a reality. Also, I will shed no tears for the immigrants - legal or illegal - in “high tech positions” who are leaving the USA for positions in other countries. Less people; less problems!

The Christian thing to do is to let “illegals” and their supporters know that what they are doing is wrong (i.e., fraud, identity theft, stealing benefits that they are not entitled to, coveting what others have, etc. etc. etc.). That is Christian love. It helps them to turn away from that sinful behavior. True Christians will realize that what they are doing is wrong and that they need to turn away from that behavior. What illegals and their supporters are doing is WRONG. We know it, they know it. It is called “tough love”. People that aid and abet illegals are assisting illegals in furthering their “sinful” activities.

I’m all for people having their opinion about something when they walk the walk that they talk. If they live in a neighborhood devastated by illegals and still think that illegals are great and that we should just be good Christians and live and let live and all that jazz then by all means that is great and more power to them. What gets me is them coming down on us for taking issue with illegals from the comfort of their all upper middle class white demographics, manicured lawn neighborhoods in Clifton while they rail against us for being racists. If you don’t live here and deal with the crap on a daily basis then STFU.

So much for “assimilation” and the “melting pot”. The following quote from the article says it all: “The National Association of Hispanic Journalists has long cautioned journalists against using the word “illegal” in copy and headlines.”
Isn’t the whole point of the “melting pot” to think in terms of doing things for the good of America in general (regardless of where one might come from)? Why would there need to be an ethnic-based journalist association?

Who writes this stuff? One just needs to open ones eyes to see that the net “gain” is larger than the net “loss”. Always funny to see how these stories are spun! So a few people “say” they are moving back (who knows if they really do or not). However, the influx of illegal aliens is much larger than the outflux of a “few”.

A frightening article in today’s 6 March Washtimes …. Says in effect that if the drug war in Mexico worsens, all that cross the border supposedly to get away from the fighting will probably be given refugee status in the U.S. Too Scary!
