The Greenville ordinance looks like political posturing to me. Any lawyer knows its well-nigh impossible to prove that a business “knowingly” hired illegal aliens. If they do try to enforce it, they’ve bought themselves a lawsuit that any two-bit, twice de-barred shyster from Dogpatch could win. I would not advise the PWC BOCS to go down that route. A better route would be to require all county contractors to certify in any proposal that they use E-verify. Such a requirement doesn’t reach all businesses in the county, but it reaches a good many.

There’s no easy way to crack the illegal alien nut. But it can be done. The main thing is to keep pressuring our elected officials to realize that they’ve got a problem. Since most of them live in areas that are not infested with the invaders, they aren’t personally aware of the degradation they’ve caused the community. And when you’re dealing with a police chief who is more concerned with survey results (bogus though they may be) than with providing for the safety of law-abiding, tax-paying citizens, the effort is made even harder. Combine that with nuts like Gotthardt, Reynolds, and the rest of their bunch who make their living by succoring to the needs of the Invaders and their issue, and you’ve a bigger problem.

After watching the local news reports of yet another shooting (4 shot, 1 dead, 3 recovering in hospital), a bit on a city (Salinas) under siege due to gang violence, I was treated to this tidbit: a local non-profit has received $2 Mil in “stimulus money” (aka, our hard-earned tax dollars) to buy new appliances and make low-income homes more energy efficient. And the bonus — wait for it — legal status optional!
Illegal migrants are thrilled, just thrilled, that they are getting not only money to pay their utilities, but brand new appliances to boot!

Some more bad press for MOCO - and well deserved. I hope this article cranks up the heat to high on all of you for your lack of fortitude in dealing with illegal alien crime. It is tragic that this little girl was harmed in the most vile way imaginable because you gave sanctuary to this man. In what can only be described as your failure to protect the people, you are accountable to her.

Even under your new “policy”, which amounts to little more than CYA, animals like this will continue to walk in MOCO and this scenario will be repeated. You have the power to prevent it, but you won’t. I will never understand why, and I’m sure this little girl won’t either.

It is about time a county’s leadership addresses the issue of illegal immigration head on. What amazes me is the lack of fortitude of our BOCs to take this kind of action! Weren’t we considered one of the “tough” counties cracking down on illegal immigration? I haven’t heard anything recently regarding our county cracking down on anything! Seems like all other counties out there are actually doing something….yet….our county is not. Let’s get some action now BOCS!
