I have been constructing large buildings in DC since "82". Whenever one goes up in the line of sight of the white house you get visits from the secret service and they take photos from the building looking back to the white house. I could not possibly count how many times I have seen armed men on top of the white house. This is why issues that matter to both Repub's and Dem's get skewed when people want to make mountains out of mole hills.

Though I probally won't agree with most of your politics I do respect your right to protest.

I hope you all keep that in mind when a group pops up that you don't agree with.

Peace!

Anonymous said on 27 Apr 2009 at 2:14 pm:

"That openly displayed sniper rifle is rather disturbing. One, because of the apparent acceptance by the Obama administration of the possibility of having sharpshooters deployed on the roof of the White House taking potshots at American Citizens across the street, and second because that is perhaps the worst tactical position imaginable for defending the White House against an attack. The idiot who came up with this position apparently knows little about dead zones, fields of fire, and cover and concealment for sniper teams."

I have lived in the area for nine years, now on my third president (Clinton, Bush, and Obama) and have yet to see the roof WITHOUT a sniper on it.

Sorry I missed the event--I was out of town. It would've been nice to go and protest in nicer weather. :)

Has anyone considered talking to the Rolling Thunder organizers to see if they'd be interested in doing a Memorial Weekend protest after their annual protest ride for POW/MIA/Vets? Hard to miss millions of loud motorcycles...

Greg - WOW! - we're totally impressed by the video montage you put together of our event. We'll link to it. I trust we'll have the chance to work together with you in the future. This process has just begun... 100 days and counting.

A Secret Service buddy says that their snipers are hidden unless they want to be seen. It's a great deterrent for assassins, but you might not be seeing ALL of them.

"United Parcel Service Inc. gave $750,000 to Hispanic civil rights group National Council of La Raza (NCLR) to help that organization develop programs and services for Latino communities.

The grant will go to NCLR’s Campaign for Stronger American Communities to provide direct services or advocacy for millions of Latinos in education, health, home ownership and workforce development."

Hmmm......I thought strong "American" communities consist of many different types of individuals that could benefit from education, health, home ownership, and workforce development....

Now that was a GREAT video! Why was it great? It showed the "melting pot" concept in action! People from a variety of backgrounds focused on the American principles NOT ethnic-centric nonsense (that divides people). Great job Greg!

I spent a lot of time in that area during the Reagan/Bush years, and never even saw anyone lurking on the roof there. I imagine they had the good sense to use some of the other potential locations around the White House that provided better tactical opportunities, and used plainclothes and uniformed folks on the ground. This is entirely new to me.

The security plan in these situations used to be have observers up high and actors down low who could quietly and discreetly vector in on problems and deal with them using a well-planned continuum of force plan. There's isn't much continuum with a sniper, and it's awfully non-discreet to have people getting blown away with high powered rifles in a crowded area.

Maybe his Omabaness wants to be able to "send a message".

Greg, I notice that when I post something on Auntie lana's site my comment must "wait for moderation". But when I post on your site my comment appears immediately (even though people may not like it).

I see the same thing with Pat Buchanan's site... instantly my comment is there... but on HuffPoo my comment must wait.

There is some kinda correlation here ;^)

Keep rockin' and rollin', Greg. You run a great shop!

That openly displayed sniper rifle is rather disturbing. One, because of the apparent acceptance by the Obama administration of the possibility of having sharpshooters deployed on the roof of the White House taking potshots at American Citizens across the street, and second because that is perhaps the worst tactical position imaginable for defending the White House against an attack. The idiot who came up with this position apparently knows little about dead zones, fields of fire, and cover and concealment for sniper teams.

I can just imagine the political ramifications of having Obama's security detail firing what seems to be a scoped AR-10 from the roof. The visual of that is a political death sentence.

That was "Tito the builder" speaking, wasn't it? Nice to see someone support America rather than narrow ethnic interests. What a patriot!
