Gerry Connolly: Screw Our Troops

Bill O’Reilly calls out Congressman Gerry Connolly as a “Mother Jones Leftist” for voting against the restrictions on the release of photos of Guantanamo Bay detainees that would almost certainly increase the danger to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. So much for Connolly being a “moderate,” as he claimed during his campaign.
Time to beat on our elected officials, and Connolly in particular, to make sure we don’t make it harder for our armed forces personnel to secure freedom for us. Anyone joining socialists like Bernie Sanders in wanting to deliberately inflame the Arab world doesn’t deserve to serve as a Congressman, to say the least. This is completely outrageous.

How, exactly, does the presence of our armed forces personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan; “secure freedom for us”? When was the US under the thumb of either Iraq or Afghanistan? What a load of crap!
The fact is, our military men and women acted dishonorable in the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. Now, rather than face up to their misdeeds, these “soldiers” are hiding behind the skirts of you right-wing nutjobs and your mock “outrage”. The behavior of our military and its apologists is disgusting!
The comments of I Bleed Obama Blue needs to keep on bleeding until there’s nothing left of him/her.
It was not all of our Military that acted dishonorably in the treatments of prisoners.
It was a handful,just like there’s a handful of Liiberal Nuts out here putting all the untruths down as facts.
There are some far Left and far Right but that does not make a majority in this Country. If we don’t wake up soon and see Obamas agenda for what it is,we will be doomed.

I do not usually get involved in much of the rhetoric on this blog, but the above post is outrageous!!! Have there been soldiers who overstep thier authorities? Yes, but there are such people in all walks of life. 99% of the Military acts in a professional manner and are serving the country with honor.
I do not consider myself a “right-wing nut job”, nor would most people consider me such, but your insult on our men and women in the military is uncalled for. One thing to remember is, these men and women are fighting for the same military that fought to give you the “right” to make such comments.

Here’s the thing: The only people up-in-arms about “Obama’s agenda” are you right-wing nutjobs (RWNJ). He’s not a “socialist”. We know it, you RWNJs know it. We understand that you RWNJs have to say something, just to remain relevant.
The rest of us, nornal, average Americans, just don’t see it that way. President Obama is doing what he was elected to do: Bring change. He’s fixing Bush’s economic mess, he’s fixing Bush’s foreign policy mess, he’s addressing the problems with our healthcare system, etc. In short, President Obama is doing exactly what he’s supposed to do, and the majority of Americans are happy with his performance.
I nominate “I bleed Obama blue” to be the new spokesperson of the Democratic Party in this country. This individual fully expresses the complete ideology of the Democratic Party and its leadership. We’ve found a real gem, here, folks. In my humble opinion, I Bleed Obama Blue should write all of Obama’s speeches, and handle the content of every last Democratic campaign advertisement for the 2010 election. We need to get this person’s views known as widely as possible!!
I agree - that comment by I Bleed Obama Blue is uncalled for. To place the lives of soldiers in jeopardy over the acts of just a few is uncalled for. The whole business of Gitmo and closing it is very poorly thought out. Obama went and announced he was going to close it by a certain date, without having any good plan on what to do with all the detainees. Now he is finding out that is easier said than done, and wants to bring a lot of them to the USA. Talk about a plan for disaster, but that’s what we have - a half baked plan that is going to just lead to more problems than keeping Gitmo open would cause.

For several years I prosecuted the dregs of our military for any type of crime imaginable. But as Austin says above, those miscreants made up only a small fraction of the military. But even those criminals were more honorable than you, because they, like all of us who ever served, at one time were willing to sign a blank check to our country to use us as the country desired. And if the country desired to send us to wars that you, or Gerry Connoly, or Jane Fonda disagreed with, the fact that we answered that call doesn’t diminish the value of that check.
Perhaps if you had served you could have done your part to prevent what you characterize as “dishonorable behavior.” If you couldn’t have prevented it, at least you would have a better understanding of how and why it occurs. But since you never put forth that effort by signing that check, and because you lack that understanding, you should STFU.
What I characterize as “dishonorable behavior”? What do YOU categorize said behavior as, Advocator? Please, justify what those uniformed cretins did to fellow human beings.

You rant about Afghanistan and Iraq and yet you politely omit, Bosnia which your past President, Bill, I ‘didn’t have sex with that woman, Clinton started. They weren’t attacking us and surely, under your views, we have no reason to be involved there - yet we are - STILL - with no end in sight.
I guess you support, fully, the release of the “torture pictures”. I agree with you on the following conditions. One, play ALL of the beheading videos - in full - on all American TV stations the same amount that the “torture pictures” are given. This will give the American public a true and exact picture of torture and murder of bound, tied, blindfolded “infidels” - “getting theirs”.
Then I want the full report, with all details and pictures, released on what the enemy did to the 2 US Army soldiers captured last year that were dehumanized, tortured and cut up into pieces.
Additionally, I see no claim to Billy Boy’s foray into Mogadishu. They were certainly no threat to America! I mean, you pick and chose which wars and battles are “bad”.
Pelosi is a piece of crap for her lying and lies and so is anyone who supports the undermining of our troops in the field - just like our good friend, Hanoi Jane. I don’t hear you vilifying her? She is just as guilty under the same conditions, as you apparently see it.
People who wake up everyday in this land of freedom (as it slips away under Obama - One Big Arse Mistake America ) have never counted their blessings, never appreciated what they have been offered, never thought of the price paid for that freedom. It has been proven that Hussein & Iraq had nothing to do w/the 9/11 attacks. There WEREN’T any “western hating terrorists” in Iraq until after the invasion & occupation.
Fighting terrorism effectively requires intelligence gathering and police action. Using military action as the primarily tool is ludicrous; it’s like using a blow torch to eradicate a house fly.
