Gang activity and violence isn’t just happening in Prince William County, it’s all over Northern Virginia. Over in the Sterling Park area of Loudoun County they’ve had a rash of this as well, and this Wednesday they’re going to have a Town Hall Meeting about it. If you’re in Loudoun County, attending a meeting like this may give you critical information about what you can do about gangs and access to local elected officials who will discuss legislative opportunities to more effectively combat them.
WHO: Congressman Frank Wolf, Delegate Tom Rust, Chairman Scott York, Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio
WHAT: Sterling Town Hall Meeting on Gang Violence
WHEN: Wednesday, July 1, 2009 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Park View High School Auditorium, 400 W Laurel Avenue, Sterling, VA 20164
As we saw in the Wellington area in Manassas, citizens play a crucial role in this fight. Better informed, more vigilant, more active citizens, in effective partnership with local law enforcement, armed with strong and responsible laws passed by their elected officials are absolutely the key in this fight. Everyone who decides to completely sit on the sidelines and let someone else deal with this issue is effectively inviting gangs to take over their neighborhoods. The stakes are too high. Get in the fight!
