Nevertheless… I am not against “immigrants”. I am however against illegal immigrants (of any race, creed, color or national origin… yes… even the blue eyed, blond haired ones). They have broken into our country, violated our laws and used our social services without authorization (e.g. roads, schools, hospitals, employment services, etc.).

Legal Chinese immigrants come to our nation and become employed in the sciences. Legal East Indian immigrants come to our nation as doctors and computer scientists. I like these folks. The add to our nation’s net worth.

Not one of the illegal immigrants I see in our town is a doctor, yet they use the services doctors this driving up the cost for all of us. Illegals are a net loss to society.

Maybe you could write a post about Liberal candidates who condone porn in education, and also want to expand Virginia public Ed. to include mandatory pre-k for 4 year olds, and how the anti-bvbl folks love the idea. Then argue that they all want to show porn to 4 year olds. Submit this to a Christian values-voter organization, and they will issue a report. Then when a congressman grabs a hold of this and requests hearings on the links between Liberals and CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, point to the report and say, “See, I told you I was right”. Watch the liberals howl.

The problem here is while I know that you, the leadership of HSM, and the membership of HSM are not racists, I also know that hard left liberals DO want children exposed to porn. The ACLU fights every action to prevent the sexualization of our children, up to and including defending organizations such as NAMBLA.

I am the descendent of not just Irish Catholics, but also German, French, English and Scottish Catholics who arrived on these shores long before the Lincoln years. Some predated the revolution. And not just an assortment of European Catholics, but also of European protestants - Anglicans, Lutherans and Presbyterians. Of Spanish Jews who were expelled from Catholic Spain during the Inquisition and fled to Holland and England.

Cherry pick our history all you like, but I refuse to ignore the fact that our history also shows that numerous schools - from the primary to university level, hospitals, churches and orphanages were built by Catholics, utilized by many and never attacked.

However I might feeeel about the events you mention or any other in our history - clearly you have an idea of how I should feel. This cult of feeling rather than thinking is reminiscent of insanity.

Until SPLC word smithed the definition, we nativists were simply Americans who believe the law should be enforced.

What should they care, if America turns into a cesspool? Their money is going back to their country of origin- once the wealth runs dry here, they’ll go back and reap the rewards they sent home, illegally gained simply because their entry into this country was illegal.

About a year ago (I think it was covered here and a couple bubble blogs) analysts told us, the illegals were leaving some southern states because jobs were not available and the economy wasn’t rebounding fast enough. Once we’re mired deep, they’ll leave in droves.

The word has a meaning and a history. It was a proud label of people who did the above. Why not just oppose illegal aliens, if you wish, without aligning yourself with that history?

Do they hand out framed certificates so you can display your honored status on the wall of your home?

Although Obama doesn’t know all the details yet…he did say the nativist acted stupidly. If the polls show the public disagrees, then the nativist gets a free beer at the White House.
