Prostitutes Get Off

The News & Messenger reports today in another underwhelmingly detailed article that Hua Fang and Sun Dok Kim who were busted for prostitution at EVA Health Therapy on Crestwood Drive back in March have had all charges against them dropped. Great going, Paul Ebert. Another one of what should be a pretty open-and-shut case is fumbled, and we still have significant ongoing problems in the Manassas area with prostitution.
When EVA Therapy got busted, the evidence seemed to be pretty darned solid. You had neighboring businesses noticing plenty of suspicious activity, at two customers providing evidence, and the results of a two month investigation, according to the local Fox News affiliate.
Based on the tips, investigators camped outside the facility and started talking to customers. At least 2 customers told police they paid for a message and a sexual act.
“They executed a search warrant yesterday afternoon they did find the items they were looking for.” says Hernandez.
According to the affidavit last month a concerned citizen complained that her spouse had paid for and received sexual services in addition to a message.
Witnesses who saw police carrying out bags of evidence, say it was common knowledge what was happening inside.
They say all throughout the day and evening they would see men in expensive cars pull up to the office and go inside.Fang had been arrested before for not having a license to operate. Police say this is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are expected.
The 2 suspects are scheduled to appear in court April 14th. A third person involved in the operation of the business had been arrested before for running a prostitution ring in New Jersey.
Just how does a case like this not even get to trial? How badly do prosecutors have to screw up in order to get this case dismissed?

I’m curious…two customers paying for a massage doesnt sound like hard evidence to me, but hearsay. they may have paid for something but unless there is video and/or a cop went inside undercover and got evidence I could see why they dropped the case. Not saying that nothing went on in there, probably did but maybe the case construction was weak from the get go? Maybe the cops pounced too soon? any number of things could have happened…
Why cook a couple of minnows when you can go after the big fish? If they were let off and it stops at that Ebert is to blame. If it is ongoing and we most likely will not know that then OK. Rating on the Korean crime groups can be a deadly thing but we will need to see and may be will will never know the true why of why this happened.
I’m not thrilled about Ebert, but this strikes me as a reasonable decision regarding allocation of scarce prosecutorial resources in favor of more serious crimes.
One would have to know a great deal about what was happening in the establishment to be in a position to criticize a decision not to prosecute.
These AMP’s are everywhere DC, Alexandria, Arlington all parts of Fairfax, Loudoun, Plenty of them in Prince William including those in Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Manassas, and Dumfries. Just as one is shut down another opens up or the old one reopens with a slightly different name, it is a never ending game.
There is an incredible amount of information that is passed on from the “customers” they rate the establishment, the providers including what “services” they provide, prices and suggested tipping based on what you received. It is all out there on the web to read. The PD’s from all the jurisdictions know about the sites in fact the posters even say they know the PD trolls the site to monitor and find out info on the locations.
It can be a sick and perverted world we live in and you may not even be aware what is around the corner from you……
I’m with Ebert on this one. There are better things to do than bother with this place.

Yep, until a number of people are infected with “social” diseases or HIV.
Well then, we certainly have a “failure to communicate” between the PD and the County Attorney’s office.
If, after a two month investigation and then, “They executed a search warrant yesterday afternoon they did find the items they were looking for” — according to the PD — to drop the case is crazy. The PD should have known what they needed as evidence and if they couldn’t find that, there shouldn’t have even been an arrest. If they DID get the evidence they needed, why was the case dropped?
…and again, if the judicial system is sooooooo busy with more important cases that they can’t prosecute, why does the PD even waste the time to investigate and arrest?
Of course, I realize that this doesn’t compare to murder cases and such, but it sure seems like there’s “something rotten in Denmark” here…:(

It was a vengeful spouse that got the ball rolling on this one. There were no neighbor complaints. Shame on PWC Po-lice for sending 12 officers (can you say OVERTIME!) to keep the county safe from two 95 pound asian women when drunks, punks, and God knows what else are running up and down 234 and I95. It must have been an ego inflating spectacle. Shame also on the local media for publishing the accused women’s complete home addresses with no thought to their safety. The metro media was used to embarrass the women and ruin the business. This issue has turned this conservative towards libertarianism. I want the government out of my wallet, my garage, my gun safe AND my bedroom.

You can wish with one hand and …. in the other before that will happen. Look at today’s state of affairs….Government Motors, Government Health care, amnesty for up to 20 million illegals who will get the health care package at little cost to them but massive tax increases to you and me. Today you are getting more government in your life than in known memory.

Haha…Yes, prostitutes plain and simple. I was using the words the reviewers wrote….not mine. I am usually one to say it like it is but have been before that I can be harsh, abrasive or rigid so I try to soften my approach at times.
Remember, the establishment in question and those inside were not convicted of anything and are presumed innocent. Having said that I have no problem with places that could provide currently illegal services. This country is known the world over as “Sex Prison USA”. I know how many are around us, more than I would have time to visit. It would be a one hour vacation from a soul smashing existence and a whole lot safer than a Rt. 1 streetwalker. As for what goes on inside, the key word is “inside”, as in not a BJ in a car behind McDonalds. It is their sandbox and they adhere to strict SOPs. Whatever happens would be consensual and if you get out of line you’ll get the Kung Fu Grip on your bat and balls by hands strengthened from hundreds of massages. All this should be decrimminalised. With our culture I don’t think we would ever see Old Town Manassas look like Amsterdam or Bangkok. I know most of you won’t agree but could we agree that Ronald Reagan should be on Mt. Rushmore? I am glad the Trooper and C.A. were able to secure a strong sentence in the murder of your brother. It is never enough but I hope it helps. Scum bags that kill other people do not deserve to walk amongst us! Sorry for your loss.
