These showers will result in nice mums!
For residents of the Park–The Manassas Park Governing Board is int he talking stages of opting out of the PWC library system and opening a city library. For the same money the Park pays to the county for library services, this proposal would open a 6500 sq ft facility in the City Center boondoggle. Apparently it’s the only way to fill any of the retail space in this loser of a development. This meager facility would share its space with a City owned coffee shop.
Currently, Park residents are served by the Central Branch Library, which has 23,000 sq ft and over 196,000 volumes. They also frequent the Bull Run Library, which has 25,000 sq ft and 236,000 volumes. In addition, ALL county library facilities are available for Manassas Park residents to use.
It’s obvious from these numbers that for the same money, Park taxpayers will be getting far less than we are currently receiving.
Fran Kassinger seems to be the one behind this bonehead proposal, with some tepid support from Vice Mayor Bryan Polk.
I will be contacting members of the governing board very soon. Suhas Naddoni sometimes rides the same VRE train as I do, so I will try to approach him in person regarding this issue. Please help stop this bad idea by contacting the governing board.
Thank you!

What Chauncey Gardiner said
…and Dads!
Prince William County funds are being siphoned off to support an arts center in Annandale. It’s time to audit all the forced charities county taxpayers are obligated to support and stop the rampant misuse of taxpayer dollars diverted to other localities!
My family and I are PERFECTLY happy with using the PWC public library system. Central Branch library is a mile from our Manassas Park house! As JM says, we have enormous stacks at our disposal through the sharing of library books from other libraries in the PW system. Gracious - can’t they find a more profitable use of space than this redundancy? I will try to contact Suhaz Naddoni as well. He’s a good guy and listens to reason.
1. The newly opened Columbus Grill on Rt. 28 will not make it. It’s akin to putting a Sweetwater’s in Georgetown South.
2. Manassas Hooters just cleaned house after a manager was caught banging a Hooters Girl in the back office on a security camera.
Efrem,
Got a link to that video?!?!
Efrem - Really? That manager was really nice. Bald guy, right?
Ouch. Those security cameras have a lot of sharp edges. He should have just cleared off his desk.
Did anyone else watch Glenn Beck today? Beck uncovered another obama radical. I’ve got more on my blog.
I watched Glenn today - love him!!!!
Hey, COM, I didn’t know you had a blog!
Where have I been???????
He is awesome. He gets all worked up. His lead in today was something. I keep saying this better be good, the way he was hyping the story. I have to say he did not disappoint.
I’ve had a blog for a while now, I figured I posted enough here, I should create me own.
How have you been?
Yesterday President Obama held a media day in Fairfax County touring the construction site of the Fairfax County Connector. Several Days before, Cherry Hill Construction (the prime contractor) Contacted all of its subs and made it clear that no undocumented workers were to work on sight that day. More than 50 employees were reassigned or given the day off so that Mr O would not come in contact with the illegals. I just have to wonder if this was Cherry Hill covering its ass or was the order given from the WH to preclude any possible embarrassment.

I hope both of them washed their hands before returning to work.
Another 12 year old girl raped in Woodbridge by two older men with hispanic names. I say we reprise operation wetback from the 1950’s and round them up and move them out. It worked for 13,000,000 Mexicans then, it can work now as well. If you don’t believe me, google it.
Swell idea, Dave. If we focus on people with Hispanic names, we probably could get way over 13 million - might even take out some Members of Congress, federal judges, and a fair number of doctors, lawyers, and Indian Chiefs while we’re at it.
Yesterday my daughter learned about crime prevention. The law enforcement officer told her it was up to “every citizen” to help fight crime and it was their job to report anything suspicious. Any suspicious people, any suspicious cars in the neighborhood, DUI drivers, reckless drivers, keep a light on when not at home, lock your doors, etc.,
After hearing this I couldn’t help but laugh. Law enforcement is teaching 6 year olds that “every citizen” has a duty to help fight crime, and our Prince William County Sheriff is teaching his deputies, if they see a violation of the law, look the other way and not get involved.
Something is very wrong.
Judge: W.Va. shelter rules biased against men
By P.J. DICKERSCHEID, Associated Press Writer
Thursday, October 8, 2009
A Kanawha County Circuit judge has voided West Virginia’s regulations for domestic violence programs, saying they discriminate by denying abused men access to publicly funded shelters and women abusers access to treatment.
In a decision received Tuesday, Judge James C. Stucky said Family Protection Services Board’s rules for licensing domestic violence shelters, certifying advocates and distributing state funding distort lawmakers’ intent and violate the West Virginia Men & Women Against Discrimination’s right to free speech.
The nonprofit advocacy group sued the state board last year.
Stucky said the state administers its programs on the premise that only men can be batterers and only women can be victims by requiring public shelters to adopt and adhere to the principle of separate but equal treatment based on gender.
“The practical effect of this rule is to exclude adult and adolescent males from their statutory right to safety and security free from domestic violence for no reason other than their gender,” Stucky wrote in his Oct. 2 ruling.
As a result, he said, male victims are being turned away from shelters “even when those shelters are otherwise unoccupied.” Treatment programs also exclude women.
The West Virginia legal challenge is among a growing number of battles being waged across the country by groups that allege state laws requiring gender-neutral programs are skewed by discriminatory rules and regulations that embrace gender biases.
“We’re not trying to belittle women who are abused, we’re trying to raise awareness” that men are also victims, said Marc Angelucci with the National Coalition For Men who secured a similar court victory in California last October.
An appeals court there invalidated parts of that state’s Health and Safety Code and Penal Code last year, saying they were unconstitutional because they excluded men from programs and services supported by nearly $22 million in taxpayer money each year.
The ramifications of the West Virginia ruling remain unclear.
A call to board chairman Judy King Smith was not immediately returned Thursday.
The office of the assistant state attorney general representing the board referred all questions to Department of Health and Human Services spokesman John Law, who said the ruling was being reviewed Thursday and no decision has yet been made on whether to appeal.
In the year since the successful California challenge, Angelucci said the state has rewritten funding criteria for domestic violence programs to make them gender neutral and officials are working to provide equal access to all services. One of the biggest changes, though, has been to increase awareness of men as victims, Angelluci said, pointing to a 2001 study by the Centers for Disease Control that showed women are just as likely as men to commit domestic violence.
Stucky said the West Virginia board, which is responsible for establishing and enforcing standards for licensing shelters, implementing intervention programs and awarding 95 percent of taxpaying funding for the programs, overstepped its authority.
He noted that only members of the West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, which he called a “private trade group” consisting of 14 licensed programs and shelters, can become certified and licensed, excluding all outsiders, even one “staffed by the most prominent and well-educated individuals working in the field of domestic violence in the United States.”
Public funding also is closed to anyone who is not a member of the coalition.
The requirements have a “chilling effect on the plaintiff’s rights of free speech” because no one outside the coalition can become certified and licensed, putting them at a disadvantage. Stucky said the nonprofit’s ability to “hold itself out” as having certified advocates “would add legitimacy to its plaintiff’s ability to exercise its free-speech rights” and advocate for equal access to shelters for men, women and children.
“This is just basic unfairness. It’s raw gender bias,” said Havey D. Peyton, attorney for the West Virginia chapter of Men & Women Against Discrimination, a nonprofit advocacy group.
Aneglucci said the West Virginia ruling will give momentum to a worldwide push to recognize men as victims, and may rekindle a second attempt to challenge Minnesota’s system. A legal challenge there several years ago was dismissed for lack of standing, he said.
“We’ll probably try it again,” he said.
Ron Foster, region IV coordinator for Men & Women Against Discrimination, said he was pleased with Stucky’s ruling, saying everyone loses when the people responsible for overseeing support programs “use their own personal biases to develop rules.”
“Everybody should be treated the same,” he said. “If you’re a victim, you’re a victim.”

NoVA Scout,
If you read about the operation from the 1950’s they concentrated on everyone who was not a citizen, regardless of vocation. Citizens didn’t have to worry if they could prove they were in the country legally or natural born, unlike our President. With 15,000,000 Americans out of work and most willing to work to feed their family’s I think it’s a great idea. Of course nowadays it’s not just Mexican’s or people with hispanic last names since all kinds of criminals are staying past their visa expiration or sneaking through the open borders. Although from what I read we have 10 - 20% of some Latin American countries total population in our great country illegally. If a doctor is here illegally he/she should be caught and deported.
Anyone have anything to say about the Miller / Rishell debate in front of the NAACP last night?
Dave - if you were in charge of removing drugs from our streets - would you focus on the street corner dealer, or the cartel??
Me, the cartel - put the cartel out of business, and there is no drugs for the corner dealer.
Why spend the time and resources on targeting the individual illegal immigrant?? Target the Business Owner who is giving employment to those illegal immigrants. No, we cannot do that, because those people are good upstanding members of our community.
crack down on the employers, and the illegal immigrant problem will be largely solved.
The illegal immigrant problem is not necessarily from the south. Its from the 2.9 million foreign visitors on temporary visas that never go home again. Just buy a ticket and walk in the front door.

Reality Check is absolutely right. Mark Wolfe and his Manassas Ballet funneled over $34,000 to an Annandale organization (see last page of the tax filing http://dynamodata.fdncenter.org/990pf_pdf_archive/541/541964442/541964442_200812_990PF.pdf). This Annandale group is incorporated at the home address of Chris Hite and his wife, who is Wolfe’s music director and close friend (see linked State Corporation Commission filing http://scc-internet.scc.state.va.us/corporate/imaging/9971045.pdf).
Moreover, Wolfe and his group misled and manipulated Prince William County’s arts grants process this year and received nearly $55,000 of taxpayer dollars. The group is headed by Kathy Bentz, who is a close associate of Mark Holcomb, one of the new board members of Hite’s organization. All are linked to Wolfe, and Bentz and Holcomb have received sacks full of money from the County to produce videos and such (doing business with the County and still put in charge of distributing hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars through the arts grants panel).
Wolfe gets $55,000 with a lot of it going to his pal in Annandale while we’re shutting down vital services and laying off County employees during a fiscal crisis?
Finally, Wolfe uses most of the taxpayer money he receives to subsidize the dance school he and his wife run. Look at page 8 of his most recent tax filing (http://dynamodata.fdncenter.org/990_pdf_archive/541/541244590/541244590_200807_990.pdf). His ballet performances brought in $99,870. These performances are what taxpayer dollars are supposed to help finance. However, he and his wife made $144,663 from their dance school, which competes with private dance schools in the area that pay their own way and pay their taxes. We do not need a taxpayer-funded “public option” dance school.
PW County and Manassas taxpayers should be outraged. All of the arts organizations need to be audited. Bentz’ grants process that is so riddled with corruption and conflicts of interests should be disbanded immediately. Wolfe and Hite should either return the taxpayer money they have received or join Bernie Madoff and all of the other fraudsters in jail.
@Dave, Pat, Greg S, and all others with recommendations on “fixing” the Illegal Invasion:
All of your suggestions and recommendations are like pissing in the wind. Nothing will happen until politicians accept that we have a problem and resolve to do something about it. That’s going to take a massive show of force by those of us who are citizens - before we’re outnumbered.
Jackson kicked Rishell’s tail in yet another debate. I couldn’t stop laughing when she said “You can be pro-business AND pro-union…because they symbiotic.” Is that like being Republican AND Democrat…because that’s Olympia Snowe and she sucks.
Interesting article in this morning’s WaPo (A3) - “DHS Reshapes Its
Immigration Enforcement Program” (287G).
“A controversial program that has deputized local police
agencies … to help enforce federal immigration laws will
continue to expand, although the growth in arrests has
slowed.”
“Slowed”? - The number of arrest for 2007 was 22,316, so far
in 2009 it is 59,339 per the chart next to the story.
Despite critics on both sides, it seems to be headed in the
right direction.
If we continued the workplace raids and 237g program aggressively, the illegals would leave on their own. We need to make it very clear to them that we will not tolerate their presence here. Check status with every police contact. Change the deportation rules so that wait times and court appearances are reduced. Send families back together, even if the children are legal. That will stop the whining about “breaking up families”. Place the blame squarely where it belongs-with the parents.
Pretty arrogant of the libs. At least they’re being brazen about why they want illegals to stay.

It doesn’t matter if illegal aliens are counted or not. The states sue the feds after the count is taken every ten years to adjust their counts to whatever number they think they can get away with. They just use the illegal aliens reluctance to be counted as an excuse to bump the number.
Besides nobody in the Federal Government really wants an accurate count of illegal aliens. Makes them look bad.
Hendon Bob-
Yup. We know. The problem seems to be that every time we go to do our jobs, some politician interferes. The overwhelming and obvious answer is term limits. Bottom line.
I find this article amazing. I am going to post the most outrageous parts here. To read the whole article click on the link below.
http://www.laboreducator.org/lt091013.htm
On September 29, the American Apparel Company, a major garment factory in Los Angeles, announced it is firing 1,800 immigrant employees.
The factory is not a sweatshop. On the contrary, it pays its workers well above the industry standard and provides them with health benefits. Many of the workers who will lose their jobs have worked for the company for ten years or more. (THIS, WHILE MILLIONS OF AMERICAN’S ARE UNEMPLOYED!)
To add to the problem, legislation to provide immigrants with a path to full citizenship will be delayed to next year with no definite date for its introduction. There may be even further delays if there is no room on President Obama’s “full plate” to deal with immigration issues.
There is the human factor: How can we help the families of millions of undocumented workers to survive if no employer is allowed to give any of them a job? How will they live? How will they feel about the United States? And should we be indifferent to their suffering and say this is their problem, not ours, because they broke our laws on citizenship? (WHAT?¬)
There is the political factor: The Latinos, the fastest-growing population in the U.S., are going to be very unhappy with the new Obama-inspired attacks on undocumented workers.
There is the union factor: Labor organizers have been counting on recruiting millions of immigrants after the passage of some form of the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA). The current crackdown on illegal immigrants with the open collusion of employers will make it more difficult to organize them, if labor should remain passive toward their dire situation.
Pat,
You do realize that not every illegal in the Country does not work, right? Obviously not, since you think by just going after businesses it will solve the issue. You and those that support illegals, like NOVA, want to put up on a good front by acting as if you want to do something about illegals.
MS 13, is made up of a large number of illegals. How would your plan rid the Nation of the illegals who are in MS 13, or other illegals who do not work?
“I think that people that are here illegally ought to be deported. And state government isn’t the primary level of government responsible for that, but it has tremendous impact on us on our budgets and our communities. And it is appropriate for us to deal with that.”
Cuccinelli made this statement. The second sentence is a disaster. He needs to do whatever it takes to help us get rid of illegal aliens (without relying on the Feds). Look at Sheriff Joe…he makes things happen on the local level….no excuses!
Marc,
You’ve been called out, do you have the backbone to respond?
Now that the economy is in the tank, how’s our hard earned tax money doing to prop up a not needed arts center? Of course you and your fellow liberal elites do, because you’ll benefit from it, and have already done so.
Do you really think people are going to stop off and eat in Old Town Manassas, when there are planned restaurants that will go in next to the arts center?
Of course you only interested in yourself, but you really should resign and save the City additional time and money.
You are a disgrace, resign already!
com,
*most* of the illegals here work, or worked here.
Yes, I believe that if we enforced the laws already on the books and went after tax evaders (businesses paying cash or 1099) it would solve most of our illegal immigrant problem.
Fact is, that even when we do get a raid on the business, the poor owner winks and nods, and says - “I did not know that he was an illegal immigrant”.
Even our own DHS Secretary Chertoff allowed illegal immigrants into his home to clean it - and there was no enforcement effort made on the company.
Mitt Romney, who I like, hired illegal immigrants to tend to his lawn, and even spoke Spanish to them.
Name 5 companies in Manassas that have faced fines because of hiring illegal labor - I know of 1.
Mark or Marc - there are 2!
Pat Herve…your logic is a disaster! Anything that can be done to eliminate illegal aliens from our communities should be implemented (going after the illegal individuals, eliminating benefits, shutting down businesses, prosecuting people who harbor/transport illegal aliens, etc.). We should not just pick a few things to do…we should do everything within our means. I have a feeling you support illegal aliens, but try to make it seem as though you want to “do something” (knowing that the “something” is very limited in scope and will likely not be successful in and of itself).
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/55496
“Nearly 70 percent of Mexicans surveyed said that Mexican-Americans – including those born in the United States – owe their primary loyalty to Mexico, not the U.S.”
Last night Delegate Miller did an outstanding job at the debate. Rishell said things like she thinks the current Governor’s fund that is 15 million should be “10 times that size”, but never said how she would pay for that. She used Deeds wimpy response with funding transportation saying “all options are on the table,” but would not say which taxes she would raise. She said she “does not support unfunded mandates”, but does support mandated pre K which is unfunded. She said “you can support VA’s right to work laws and be pro-union at the same time.” What was most insulting by Rishell was for her to sit right next to Delegate Miller and say, “Politicians are the first people to rush to the funeral of a first responder, but fail to fund what they need…” I think Miller handled that extremely insulting statement with controlled emotion by saying he is a first responder, has always been there for his fallen colleagues and will always be there for them. Too bad local election debates like this are not on TV. Wish everyone in the 50th could watch the debate. Miller slam dunked it!
Pat,
Again, that is all fine and well, and I have said many times, going after businesses that hire illegals is not only right, but has to be done. However, what is your plan to get rid of illegals that do not work? How about those in schools?
You can tell who supports illegals and who does not just on how they want to solve the problem. Those that support illegals want to shift all of the blame onto businesses, while ignoring the law breaking of the illegal alien. Those that want to put a stop to the problem, know and support not only going after businesses but also the illegals, because as it has been provided to you, but of course ignored, not every illegal works.
Sorry, I meant to say Mark, not Marc for my other post.
Hot tip from my neighbor’s son… while eating at Denny’s last Friday evening (corner of Portsmouth Rd and Sudley Rd), the restaurant was raided and the illegal alien workers were taken into custody….
They should have taken most of the customers, also. Anybody who eats there needs deported badly.
and 5 companies in manassas where the business has been found guilty of/or even accused of hiring illegal immigrants.
If the existing laws were enforced, our illegal immigrant problem would never have gotten to where it is.
Our elected officials (and lobbyists) like it just as it is.
One of the most urgent activities that needs to be accomplished NOW is to have the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) investigated. I do not think that our hard earned tax payer dollars should be given to this ethno-centric group that provides assistance to and lobbies on behalf of illegal aliens. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! How can we get this started? Any lawyers out there?

Zogby poll of Mexicans raises concerns over Mexican immigration
Why do many Mexican immigrants — legal and illegal — have trouble assimilating into American culture? Most of the 10 to 12 million Hispanics estimated to be here illegally are from Mexico. How would granting them amnesty affect future illegal immigration — especially from Mexico?
Recently, polling firm Zogby International surveyed more than 1,000 Mexican adults across Mexico. The idea was to get the opinions of the average man and woman on the street - all to better understand America’s immigration debate from a Mexican point of view, according to the Center for Immigration Studies of Washington, D.C. The conservative think tank is now reporting the results of the Zogby poll.
According to CIS, the survey was the first of its kind to get the opinions of Mexicans, including those entertaining the possibility of immigrating to America illegally.
Many Americans may find the views that Mexicans have on immigration and America unsettling — and even disturbing.
Critics of an amnesty for illegal immigrants contend it would only encourage more illegal immigration. Well, surprise, surprise: That’s just what the average Mexican on the street thinks, too.
According to CIS: “A clear majority of people in Mexico, 56 percent, thought giving legal status to illegal immigrants in the United States would make it more likely that people they know would go to the United States illegally.”
In addition, the think tank stated that: “Of Mexicans with a member of their immediate household in the United States, 65 percent said a legalization program would make people they know more likely to go to America illegally.”
And that raises another question: Just how many more Mexicans would like to immigrate to America? According to CIS: “Interest in going to the United States remains strong even in the current recession, with 36 percent of Mexicans (39 million people) saying they would move to the United States if they could. At present, 12 to 13 million Mexico-born people live in the United States.”
Most Americans would be shocked by how the majority of Mexicans felt about America. According to CIS:
* “An overwhelming majority (69 percent) of people in Mexico thought that the primary loyalty of Mexican-Americans (Mexico- and U.S.-born) should be to Mexico. Just 20 percent said it should be to the United States. The rest were unsure.”
* “Also, 69 percent of people in Mexico felt that the Mexican government should represent the interests of Mexican-Americans (Mexico- and U.S.-born) in the United States.”
CIS noted that “the perspective of people in Mexico is important because Mexico is the top sending country for both legal and illegal immigrants.
“In 2008, one of six new legal immigrants was from Mexico and, according to the Department of Homeland Security, six out of 10 illegal immigrants come from that country.”
CIS noted there are now “10 to 12 million illegal immigrants in the country, seven million of whom are estimated to have come from Mexico. But this poll suggests that many people who might like to come have not done so. This could be seen as an indication that enforcement efforts are effective.”
The results of the survey are sure to add to concerns raised by Harvard political scientist Samuel P. Huntington in his 2005 book “Who are We? The Challenges to America’s National Identity.”
He wrote:
“The persistent inflow of Hispanic immigrants threatens to divide the United States into two peoples, two cultures, and two languages. Unlike past immigrant groups, Mexicans and other Latinos have not assimilated into mainstream U.S. culture, forming instead their own political and linguistic enclaves-from Los Angeles to Miami-and rejecting the Anglo-Protestant values that built the American dream. The United States ignores this challenge at its peril.”
He also published a related essay, “The Hispanic Challenge,” in Foreign Policy magazine. It promoted liberals to all but accuse him of being a racist and xenophobe.
The Zogby survey had a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percent, “for a 95 percent confidence level,” CIS noted.
Here’s a question for you all: How early in the morning are campaigns allowed to call people? My wife got a call yesterday at 8:45 AM. Is that too early and/or a violation of State or Federal law?
Pat,
Sorry I took so long replying to your comment this morning. Been at work and the IT folks don’t allow any blogging from work, sensibly so.
I would go after the employees and the employers by enforcing the existing laws on the books, we don’t need reform, we need to enforce our laws at all levels. If the arrested illegal alien has children that are US citizens he/she can take them with them back to their country of origin. I really don’t understand when the illegal alien apologists claim that enforcing the laws breaks up families. Nobody is stopping the caught ones from taking their families with them when they get the boot.
I would also complete the fence along the southern border and I would put towers back from the border every x miles and use the new weapons that the military is testing like the sonic weapon or the heat weapon (saw that one on 60 minutes). Non lethal force will turn them back hopefully.
I’ve only been here since 2005 so I don’t remember any companies being raided other than that Cement company in Manassas I believe.
Be interesting if the local rag has anything to say about the Denny’s arrests if anything.
Our local PWCPD conducted a license/insurance stop in my neighborhood at the corner of Coverstone and Aaron yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours and I’m wondering how many they caught without licenses and insurance. I felt bad for the newbies out there in the rain, it was apparent that the officers used all the new officers for the “outside” work standing in the rain. The officer I spoke with had just recently started with the PWCPD, he was very polite and I could comiserate with him. If that’s an example of the officers we are hiring we are in good shape. I do wish that the officers would check for ID at every stop and arrest the ones they suspect are not here legally.
Justice in Fairfax County, VA (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Fairfax County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible..
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Washington Redskins Football Team, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone..
Pat,
Again, why are you ignoring the illegals that do not work? You can’t place all of the blame on businesses, yet that is exactly what you are doing. You want to take all of the blame away from illegals and place them elsewhere.
Nobody is holding a gun to the heads of people south of the border and forcing them to come here illegally, yet, you don’t seem to have a problem with people who openly mock our immigration system. Why?
Target had a costume of an illegal alien but the apologists whined so they pulled the costume… pretty funny

This article points out what many have known for a long time. There is often a lack of common sense practiced in both government and the courts, supported by the following,
“…in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.”
The “highest degree possible” often means that child abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, and criminal activity will not prevent the courts from placing a child back into the environment it should be protected from.
“A federal judge ruled Friday that Virginia violated the voting rights of military service members and other Americans living overseas when electoral officials failed to send them ballots for last year’s presidential election on time….”

Groveton, your post is the only one I have ever printed out. I know there is a serious side to the issue but I had to chuckle.
com,
I have a problem with people ignoring the real culprit in the illegal worker category, and covering it up with a nod and a wink, and largely ignore the issue.
How many illegals do you really think come here with no prospect of getting a job? I really think that is a small number.
But we would not want to offend, say Tysons Food, because they are a big company, or upstanding members of our community because they hire illegals.
was going to post a link about the illegal alien costume, but it’s been done already. Looked at target today for the costume, didnt have it. I was pretty upset because that was what I was going to be for halloween. It was pretty close toss up between that, or one of the anti-chicks. I didnt seen any anti-chick costumes either, however I figure I could just dress up as a cow and throw a bell around my neck and it would be close enough.
Chuck,
I too looked for the costume, figured I’d wear it while passing out Halloween candy to the kids of the illegals that alway drive to our neighborhood and walk around with them. I’ll have to make my own costume now, or I can wear my Help Save Manassas tshirt I guess. Maybe a Border Patrol officer?
Pat,
Just go away. You support child rapists, murderers and the like, when you support illegals. You seem to be the only person to not want to go after the illegals that do not work. You simply want to shift all of the blame away from the illegals, because in your eyes they’ve done nothing wrong.
What other types of criminals do you support? I guess we can blame banks for bank robberies, since they have money, and they know people are willing to break to the law to get that money, so let’s just blame the banks.
Would you support someone who commits a crime against you or your family? If not, why?
The post shocked the political World today, by endorsing Deeds. I’ve got more about this on my blog.
News & Messenger endorsed Bob McDonnell for Governor!!!

For all of those conservatives out there - are you in need of a vacation? This one combines relaxation and meeting with like-minded individuals who want to change the direction in which our country is headed.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Members of Central Ohio’s Hispanic community say they are the victim of racial profiling by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The BMV sent out 47,457 letters last week to vehicle owners that do no have Social Security numbers, drivers license numbers or state identification numbers attached to their vehicle registrations.
Owners receiving the letter were told they have 60 days to produce identification or their registration will be canceled. The letter follows a change in policy that closed a legal loophole allowing undocumented immigrants without insurance or a drivers license to register a vehicle using the power of attorney process…

com,
where do you get that I support criminals?????
The Number ONE Reason we have illegal immigrants is this country is because WE employ them!
But we are afraid to go after the employer because he is a member of our community, our Place of Worship, and is a campaign donor. And WE do not exercise our own rite of refusing to do business with the true law breaker.
Pat,
You show you support for criminals by making excuses for illegals. As I said you want to shift all of the blame for illegal aliens to other people, and that simply is not right. You ignore illegals who do not work, those in school, and those that are in gangs that come here only to recruit and earn money for their gangs.
You also ignore, even though it has been pointed out to you many times, that people do not support businesses that employ illegals. There have been many posts on this blog about that, and even Help Save Manassas has a section on their website that highlights companies that do not hire illegals.
Yet, you continue to insist nobody wants to go after businesses who hire illegals. You support illegals, because you make excuses for them, and feel they are only being exploited by businesses and therefore, have not broken the law.
Dave,
I shut my light off now, had too many hispanic teen’s coming to my house wanting candy. Too much of a free for all south of the border style. I’ll take the kids to organized functions where they can get candy in a safe environment. Trick or treating is not what it used to be.

So let me get this straight….the BMV notices that “numbers” are missing from vehicle registrations….and the hispanic community somehow thinks that “numbers” equate to “racial profiling”….RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!! NO WONDER OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM IS IN BIG TROUBLE!!!!!!!
com,
I do not make excuses for illegals.
I do not support rapists.
Name 5 companies in manassas that was brought up on charges for hiring illegal immigrants.
How much does it cost/how long does it take to deport a single illegal?
What percentage of illegal immigrants come here and do not work?
I find it amusing that you seem to think that it is ok for business owners to hire illegal immigrants as long as they do not get caught. Yup, lets not enforce those laws, as it will affect your friends.
Pat,
Where have I said I support or think it is OK for businesses to hire illegals? I have never said that and in fact have said many times over, businesses that hire illegals should be fined. However, that is only part of the problem. There are many illegals here that do not work. You want to act as if those type of illegals do not exist. You clearly are just trying to avoid having to answer why you support illegals, what to do about illegals who do not work, etc.
You are the typical liberal, who likes to project. You simply support illegals. Be proud of it, just as we are proud to say we do not support illegals. I simply do not understand why you, who like illegals, just can’t say it loudly and proudly.
com,
where does it say that I support rapists and child molestors, yet you accuse me of it.
Attack the real problem - illegals coming here for work.
Just how many illegals do you think come here just to come here and not work - give me a number?
And why do you think I support illegals - because, I would rather hit the #1 reason why they come here - jobs - remove the job, and the next one will not have a jop. Whereas you want to protect the employer, remove the illegal, and there will be another illegal to fill the job.
Simple math - just like Drugs - go after the cartel, not the corner drug dealer. Make the best use of the small dollars that we have.
CoM and Pat. Herve — The solution is simple. Go after both — hard!!
Wolverine,
I agree, go after both the illegals and the employer, as well as attaching the loiterers at Coverstone 7-11 and more recently the Raceway across the street from the 7-11 on Coverstone. I stopped there last week at 2pm and was surrounded by about 15 day laborers looking for a job. Several came up to my window with alcholol on their breath as they wouldn’t let me get out of my truck to go inside and get cigarettes. I counted about 20 bicycles up against The back of the property, so at least they aren’t driving without licenses or insurance. Send off my email to Raceway complaining about being acosted in their parking lot. We’ll see what happens.
Wolverine,
I’m in favor of doing that, Pat is not. He simply wants to ignore illegals, and go after businesses only. That’s the talking point for libs these days.
Meanwhile, Phoenix, AZ has turned into the kidnap capital of the Country because of illegals. Yet, somehow, Pat does not see that as an issue. He does not consider gang members to be of concern, etc.
Pat,
You still can’t bring yourself to say anything bad about illegals. Don’t worry, I know there are other people like you, who turn a blind eye to illegals raping children, gang bangers etc. What about illegals who go to school? Or, who are not working? You of course can’t answer that because you support them.
As for drugs, you have to go after both the user and the dealer. If there are users, there are going to be dealers, and if there are dealers, there are going to be users.
Pat,
Why would you want to limit how and why we go after illegals? What do you think about illegals, and do you think they are criminals? Do you think they deserve amnesty?
Moveon.org is asking their members to call Pepsi and complain about the Chamber of Commerce, of which Pepsi is a member, for opposing cap and tax and Obamacare:
“Why would a company like Pepsi oppose solutions to global warming?
Pepsi is a prominent member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which just launched a $100 million campaign described as a “declaration of war on the White House.” The Chamber is pouring millions into killing clean energy as well as health care reform. But Pepsi continues to help fund the Chamber’s anti-climate agenda through their Chamber dues.
Can you call Pepsi and urge them to quit the Chamber of Commerce? If you’re a customer of Pepsi, be sure to mention it when you call. Here’s the info:

I just called Pepsi and thanked them for not supporting the liberal left agenda… If you agree, call them and thank them too!
So last week I pulled into the Raceway to get some gas and was immediately surrounded by day laborers who only spoke spanish looking for work at 2:30 pm. I complained to the person behind the counter, who also didn’t care. So over the weekend I emailed Raceway Corporate and told them about my experience. Today I received a phone call from the district manager who told me that they were ordering no loitering signs and had talked to PWCPD about their options, and were told to put the signs up and if they didn’t leave to call them and they would come out and arrest a couple of them.
Dave,
Thanks. I stay away from that station simply because of the illegals hanging out in the parking lot. It’s an eyesore to say the least.
Thanks Dave in PWC!!!
If you hadn’t complained, it would have continued. I hope their signs come in soon.
COM, DPortM,
I had no idea that all the day laborers had moved there since they were all hanging out in the back of the property out of sight from the road, when I pulled in driving a pickup truck I got surrounded. I noticed that there must have been at least 20 bicycles along the back of the property all wedged up against the back walls. At least they are not driving… of course that part of the property has no more grass just like across the street by the 7-11 and the bushes that used to be there are trashed. They are like locusts, they destroy anything alive.
Dave,
Ya, they just shifted from the 7-11 to that station. I had that happened to me once in Herndon, at the McDonald’s on Elden Street. I was just amazed, all I was doing was pulling into the parking lot and it took all of about five seconds for 5 guys to come out of the wood work. Nobody should have to put up with such behavior.

More on the illegal alien costume…
COM,
The district manager gave me his cell number to call him if I had any otehr problems or saw day laborers on their property. I called him this morning on the way to work, no signs up yet, but he said he’d go check it out.
Ebay took the illegal alien costume down from the bid board, citing complaints…
Dave,
Thanks. Keep us updated on the signs.

I just called Pepsi as well! Thanks for the info!
Dave -
Nice work! And thanks!
ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE NOT “VICTIMS”!!!!!!!!!
I am so tired of watching these sob stories about how “hard” it is for these people to live in our country. It is quite interesting to see these stories appear in the media in perfectly timed fashion with the next push for amnesty/pathway to citizenship (which we must stop). Here are the REAL facts:
1. Illegal aliens have a CHOICE to come here (they are not forced).
2. Illegal aliens don’t pay their fair share of taxes (income/property, etc. - sale tax does not count!)…yet they get free medical, foodstamps, reduced cost housing, free education, etc. all at legal taxpayer expense.
3. Illegal aliens (because of all the benefits they receive from item 2 above) have plenty of money left over to “send back home”, pay the luxury SUV car payment, purchase cable television (notice that COMCAST pushes alot of Spanish channels these days), pay the cell phone bills, pay for a large number of children, etc. etc. etc. - How is this mathematically possible if these people don’t earn that much? Oh…that’s right…we pay for it!
So there you have it…the actual FACTS! Illegal aliens are NOT the “victims” they are made out to be!!!!!!! Let’s keep the facts straight!
