Two More Illegal Aliens Sentenced To Life In Prison

The Gainesville Times reports that two MS-13 members were sentenced to life in prison in connection with the murder of a rival gang member outside a Springfield restaurant, and unsurprisingly, they’re both illegal aliens. The Virginia State Police has estimated that 90% of MS-13 members are illegal aliens, so it’s of little surprise when there’s a conviction in another case of MS-13 brutality that illegal aliens are involved. If government just focused on getting and keeping illegal aliens out of the country, instead of finding new and creative ways to make their unlawful presence here more comfortable, we wouldn’t likely have to provide them with lifetime accomodations in our prison system and deal with the after-effects of the mayhem and murder they are responsible for.
Two members of MS-13 were sentenced today to life in prison for killing a rival gang member outside the Cerro Grande restaurant in Springfield, Va. Another gang member, Jorge Parada, aka “Rama,” 29, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to 300 months in prison for conspiring to distribute cocaine.
Rafael Parada-Mendoza, aka “Cheve,” 22, and Gabriel Hosman Perez-Amaya, aka “Dandy,” 22, both illegal aliens from El Salvador living in Fairfax County, Va., were convicted by a jury on June 11, 2009. According to court documents and evidence at trial, on Dec. 2, 2007, Parada-Mendoza and Perez-Amaya approached two gang members from rival gang Southside Locos while in the parking lot of Springfield Mall, nearby the Cerro Grande restaurant. They flashed gang signs, and when the two rivals stepped out of their car, Parada-Mendoza drew a handgun and killed the closest rival, Christian Argueta, aka “I.R.” The other individual escaped.
Evidence at trial showed that Parada-Mendoza and Perez-Amaya were members of MS-13, a violent gang that originated in Los Angeles and has local cliques throughout the United States, including northern Virginia. One prominent rule encourages MS-13 members to confront, fight and kill rival gang members, known as “chavalas.” The two gang members were accused of murdering Argueta as a means of maintaining and increasing their position in MS-13, and evidence showed they recounted their successful killing with fellow gang members at a meeting within hours after the shooting.
This is particularly noteworthy in the aftermath of the Obama Administration cutting back on the Section 287(g) Program, an action that will certainly endanger more American lives. By waiting for illegal aliens to commit violent crimes before deporting them, rather than deporting them whenever they are encountered by law enforcement, criminally-minded illegal aliens will without a doubt cause more tragedies for American citizens and legal residents than before. I spoke about this at a recent meeting of the Board of County Supervisors, the transcript of which is below:
Today the Board is being forced to accept an agreement with the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement that eliminates every obligation the federal government has previously made to the citizens of Prince William County. We are well aware this Board can’t do much about this, but this moment of federal perfidity cannot pass without without citizens expressing their outrage towards the federal government. They will be putting our lives at risk in order to protect illegal aliens from the consequences of their unlawful behavior.
Instead of keeping their commitment to us to remove illegal aliens within 72 hours, ICE will now remove illegal aliens at their leisure, and leave us to deal with the lower-level criminal aliens they are refusing to hold accountable for their violation of the law. We’ve seen the results of this dedicated non-enforcement of the law, and the results are that Americans will die as a result.
Take for example the case of Jose Martinez-Zeron. He was arrested in Manassas Park during the summer of 2007 for not having a drivers license and being in posession of three different false identities. Because this was a relatively low-level offense, this illegal alien was released on a $1,000 bond. The day after he was released, he murdered Brenely Ester Lessing-Yanes in Manassas City in a manner bearing every hallmark of an MS-13 killing, one so brutal that the ceiling of her bedroom was splattered with blood. Now absolved of responsibilities for removing illegal aliens, ICE would most likely release someone like Jose Martinez-Zeron under this new agreement.
Another illegal alien that would most probably escape deportation would be Obidio Arita-Najera. He got liquored up one night and went driving, and crashed into a motorcycle driven by PWCPD Lieutenant Phillip Harrover and tried to flee the scene. Harrover survived, but was badly injured and spent weeks in the hospital. Arita-Najera was processed by the 287(g) Program and an immigration detainer was placed on him. Under the new agreement, he might get deported. Might, not will. Most likely with this administration, the answer would be he would get released from jail after an appropriate sentence, back into our community to get liquored up and drive again until he actually kills someone.
Marcos Danilo Reyes Banegas raped and sodomized an eight year old girl in Prince William County, but had previously been arrested in Montgomery County, MD on charges of assault and disorderly conduct that they didn’t even bother to prosecute. In Loudoun County, Arnold Mancia-Morales raped a 75 year old woman in her home in 2008, but in 2006 he was convicted of felony burglary, and four misdemeanor charges a year later, two of which were for assaults. In 2007, after forcing himself on a young girl at the Sterling library, he received a 100-day suspended sentence for the attack. The current 287(g) Program would catch and deport all of these predators before they graduated to violent crime. This new agreement leaves such deportations in grave doubt.
Criminal illegal alien murderers and rapists often don’t start right out with murder and rape. They almost always start out with identity fraud, driving without a license, driving drunk and other lesser offenses that would, under the MOU getting rammed down our throats, virtually ensures that they would be released back into our communities instead of being deported. That’s how we ended up with illegal aliens on the Virginia sex offender registry until Bob McDonnell acted to have them deported. Now that we’re actually holding all those low-level criminal illegal aliens and deporting them, the murder rate by illegal aliens in Prince William County has dropped to zero, from about half of all the murders in Prince William County in 2007.
The unavoidable result of the Obama administration’s decision to throw away current federal agreements and replace them with something more hopey-changey is that the number of American citizens being raped and/or murdered by illegal aliens will rise. Illegal aliens who drive without a license, or drunk, or who steal identities or commit misdemeanor assaults will get a free ticket from ICE to unlawfully remain here as a trade-off for those American lives. While everyone but the fringe leftists think that deporting illegal aliens who commit crimes is not only the right thing to do but an imperative for government at all levels, the Obama administration is willing to trade American lives for the convenience of foreign nationals in the United States unlawfully and crack down not on illegal alien crime, but on deporting criminal aliens.
Irresponsibility doesn’t even begin to describe this outrage.
How many people will have to die or be brutalized before the Obama administration understands and corrects the grave mistake they’ve made here?

People like Pat Herve and obama keep telling us that just going after businesses to control illegal aliens is the best policy. Yup, that policy would have worked in this case.
Just to add to the last point you made… Anita Dunn, the White House communication director, is on record stating she looks to Mao Ze Dong as her political inspiration. Mao could have cared less about how many people were killed in his quest to take change China. Her boss obviously shares her views otherwise, why would she hold a position in the White House?
Can’t PWC or VA file suit in Federal Court to insist the LAW as written is followed? Maybe Cooch will have the cajones to do this. Maybe the VA legislature could give all jurisdictions within the Commonwealth the ability to deport illegals from their legal boundries.

If a cretin is such a danger to society the decision to put them in prison for life escapes me. Why should tax payers feed them, provide TV, etc? Time to bring public executions back to the public square, especially for illegals.
Here’s a question… if we send an Illegal Alian to prison, do they become legal for the duration? I assume they get the same rights, protections , health care, etc. as any other prisioner. Has anyone ever thought about this one?

Yes, they are treated the same. At the end of their sentence, they are deported. But, it’s a racket, that’s for sure. They are still taking advantage of the system.
Illegals just tee me off and the near total lack of will by Congress and our past and present President, especially our present President and his staff. That sign on Liberty St MUST be in total support of illegal criminal activity, including, murder and rape of their own and their children.

Get rid of right to work state laws. Majority of illegals work for small construction sub contractors with less than 100 people. Guess what the feds under bush excluded ICE enforcement of employers of less than 100 people. “Right to work” laws have nothing to do with the issue being discussed here. All they do is put the brakes on forced unionization. It’s perhaps notable in this context that labor unions are among the loudest supporters of illegal aliens, so I am deeply suspicious of the motivation behind “American citizen’s” motivations here.
Also, licensees in PWC and Manassas are supposed to certify that they are legally present in the country. While the standards of that certification have been weakened in PWC thanks to the efforts of Marty Nohe, illegal aliens should not be receiving contractor’s or business licenses. Sinilarly, if the IRS actually bothered to enforce the rules, they would not permit ITIN’s to be used for reporting wages, which should be closing the 1099 verification gap but for lack of will. Although a business might pay on a 1099 using an ITIN, the income reported by the recipient is required by law to be reported using a social security number. Those that report income with an ITIN and absent an SSN are breaking the law, but the IRS under past and current administrations refuses to enforce the law.
All businesses in VA (from one employee on up) should be required to use e-verify on new and all existing employees. This is getting ridiculous. Where is Sheriff Joe when we need him. We need illegal alien sweeps here in our town.

CoM - I thought Anita Dunn quoted Mao Tse Tung (or whatever the phonetic spelling is these days) as saying that strategists have to choose to fight on terms most favorable to them and not accept their opponents’ definition of the fight. You got a problem with that? It worked pretty well for Mao. It seems like a sound principle of general applicability. I didn’t see anything that indicated that Dunn was proposing that Mao Tse Tung was a good guy.
RE Greg’s post: I disagree that everyone other than “fringe leftists” think deporting 2I criminals is not only “the right thing to do, but imperative . . .” Greg’s formula sounds like liberal wishy-washiness to me. A lot of us conservatives think that they should be imprisoned and punished here. Deportation just throws them back in the pool of future illegal immigrants and raises the real possibility that they will not be punished in their home countries. The better policy is to punish them to the limits of the law here. Deport them after they are released.

Only adults should be able to apply for benefits and only the adult applicant’s information should be verified using E-Verify. This would prevent illegal alien parents from using their “legal” (anchor baby) children to acquire benefits for them.

Let me clarify, my post. I think if law enforcement catches previously deported illegals, they should be taken into custody and then sentenced to a firing squad. I did not mean to imply anybody should be able to shoot them.
