What A Shock: Connolly Likes ObamaCare
By Greg L | 7 November 2009 | Gerry Connolly, National Politics | 10 Comments
Not much of a surprise here, but the behavior of Gerry Connolly just seems like the gift that keeps on giving to bloggers.
Connolly has been telling people that he wasn’t sure how he would vote on the monstrosity of the ObamaCare bill and wanted to get more information and see how the bill was amended. Without any amendments to the bill being agreed to, Connolly was just on the floor indicating he would support the bill. Yeah, like there was ever any doubt Connolly would do anything different than Nancy Pelosi instructed him to do.
My condolences to any of his constituents who were under the impression that Gerry Connolly would represent them in Congress.

What do you expect from a scum like good ol’ “hit and run”
This guy is truly a gulless RAT.
Did he make the announcement at a police officer’s funeral?
Nobody ever accused Gerry of being the brightest bulb on the tree but to fall on the knife for Nancy Pelosi is not what you would call a good career move to say the least.
Gerry is in way over his head. I don’t think the Senate is going to take this bill up next month or next year leaving Connolly and his fellow Democrats holding a bag full of stupid. Having spent any ounce of credibility he may have had on a dead horse. On the other hand, Harry Reed is just a little brighter. He knows his constituents in NV are going to hang him out to dry if he comes home with this kind of crap, He’ll talk the big game just to keep the juices flowing, give a little head fake and a dodge here and there but next year being an election year where he is going to have one very tough fight he won’t commit political suicide to please a president that very likely won’t survive his next election either.
That’s how some folks stay for more than one term. They throw the weaker ones under the bus. Good luck Gerry, I can see you didn’t learn a thing from last Tuesday.
Connolly is one Unctuous Critter.
Here’s my end of career counseling for my newly terminal congressman.
I hope the Minority Leader Nancy or Obama has a good job for him because he’s going to need it.
Don’t fret. I’m sure the geniuses in Fairfax will reelect him with vigor next year. You know it and I know it.
Was he thrown under the public transport, or is it possible he was “influenced” by promise of federal stimulus funding directed to his cronies. This would be the insurance that allowed him to take one for the team, or jump the shark. When he fails at re-election he will surely reap his benefit when he is voted out of office. That’s the beauty of federal stimulus funds be spent for future activities. Is it the ultimate pay for play? Chicago style politics, or politics as usual? How much influence can you buy with 788 billion dollars at your finger tips?
…and the inconsequential Occoquan precinct…remember the “siren for the town in the event of dam failure”?…that won’t save your butt, Connolly!!! We’re out to add YOU to the unemployed list!!
Can I petition to have my area (Linton Hall Corridor) moved to a different Congressional district? I was mad enough to find out that the fools in FFX county that make up about 2/3 of our district outvoted us in PWC, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to get stuck with this fool again.
I called Connolly’s office to express my opinion about the Democrats substitution amendment to the health care bill. The young man who answered the phone attempted to debate with me about how wonderful the bill was. He said that all they wanted to do was create a program similar to the FEHBP except open to all citizens. I then asked him why the bill placed so many restrictions, fines, and penalties on private plans, if the sole objective was to provide a FEHB like plan to all Americans? He didn’t have an answer. I then asked why the plan didn’t allow for cross state competition. He didn’t have an answer. I asked why the bill took away the employer deduction for health benefits. He didn’t have an answer. I asked him where I was supposed to get the cash to pay for the 30% increase in the cost of my health coverage, as the increased taxes associated with providing health benefits are likely to be passed on to me as a hike in premiums. He didn’t have an answer.
In short - Connolly wants a single payer system. Forget moderate. Forget clueless. He wants a single payer system and is more than willing to say whatever he can to convince us great unwashed ones that what he just voted for isn’t the first step in creating a single payer system.
I suggest to the young man who answered the phone that he might want to update his resume as I suspected Connolly wouldn’t last through the mid-term election. He didn’t have an answer to that either.
