Here's an update from Friday, November 27th:

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is 1:15 am on Friday and I am getting ready for to do a training walk before I hit the stores for black Friday. We are way behind on raising funds for the Walk for Children on Christmas Eve, so I am asking you as you hit the stores to write one additional check to CASA or the Boys and Girls Club. CASA can even take donations by credit card if you let me know.

I know times are tough and people are struggling, but our children still need to be protected! They do not understand why the Dad or Mom is under such stress worrying about whether or not he/she will still have a job. They can't understand why Mom and Dad are always fighting, and why suddenly they get angry and snap at the child. Unfortunately, that is just mild, some parents take out their frustration physically, mentally, or even sexually on their children. I am not talking about a slap on the backside, I am talking about being burnt with a cigarette, beat with a bat, or even raped.

These organizations I am trying to raise money for provide a positive environment for our children and give them a voice. I am passionate about this cause as are many others. We need your support this Holiday season. Please Help! Send your donations to Christopher Real Estate c/o the Walk 9216 Center St. Manassas VA 20110. Make your check to CASA or the Boys and Girls Clubs. If you wish to split your donation, make the check to CASA and write split in the memo section. Thank you and God Bless, Austin

Here's the main difference between this blog and the "anti" blog - you advocate for local charities. The only time that the old biddies on anti talk about charity is when it directly benefits them. This blog focuses on charities and individuals who work for the good of the community.

Kudos to you, Austin, for your good work and caring for those in the community who need help. And kudos to Greg for keep the community aware of those who are giving their all for PWC and the community at large.

Hey Austin -

You seem like a good egg. Why don't you run for the State Senate seat vacated by Cuccinelli? According to the people who write and comment on this blog - the people who have announced their candidacy are terrible choices.

One once worked for the federal government. Shame, shame.
Another is a carpetbagger who has only lived in Northern Virginia since 1952.

Greg

Thanks for the support!!! We may all disagree at times politcally, but we can all agree that physical and sexual abuse of children needs to be wiped out. None of us can do it by ourselves, but together we can make a difference. The Boys and Girls Clubs and the Court Appointed Special Advocates are two organizations that work on a very tight budget, but get a lot done. The staff and volunteers at these organizations are who desrves all of the kudos.

As to myself, as some of you know, I was a victim as a child. I was blessed to have several sets of fantastic foster parents who kept me from falling off the deep end. This is just my way of honoring them in this holiday season. Also, my wife is either a Saint for putting up with my endeavors, or she is counting my life insurance money prematurely.

Thanks And Please Help!!!
