Looks like the radical left is really happy now that they’ve got Obummer as president:

I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed in the human race as I am now that this new report has come out. I hope EVERYDAY that there IS an alien race out there that will come and save this planet from us, just kill off the human race. We are so cruel, stupid, selfish, self-involved, greedy and I could go on. There truly is no saving ourselves from ourselves.

    Yeah, HOPE and CHANGE!

Time, once again, to state the OBVIOUS!

I should point out that I TRIED once before to, “State the obvious” but I guess I didn’t have a high enough soap box.

The reason oBAAma was elected was because NO ONE would put a label on what he was SELLING out of some kind of fear of being called RACIST.

What he was selling was PIE in the SKY!!!

Now he’s selling his PIE in the SKY again in the form of health care reform.

Here’s the most RIDICULOUS (obvious) thing about this “promise” of health care for everyone:

Does anyone in their RIGHT MIND really think that this government, the U.S. Federal Government, the MOST CORRUPT, the MOST WASTEFUL, the MOST INEFFECIENT entity on the PLANET can fix ANYTHING?

This “government” can’t FIX ITSELF, how’s it going to fix health care?

Everything this “government” touches turns to S#!T!!!

Once again, EVERYTHING this “government” touches
    turns to S#!T!!!!!

Wait, here’s an idea: Let’s have the SAME people who were watching Bernie Madoff (STEAL 50 BILLION dollars in LIFE SAVINGS) keep an eye on health care reform, that sould do the TRICK!

Maybe “Brownie,” of Katrina/FEMA fame, could give them a hand?

Maybe we should turn health care reform over to the
“SAVINGS and LOAN” people? (That only cost the tax payers a TRILLION or TWO?)

Like I said, EVERYTHING this “government” touches
    turns to S#!T!!!!

Off topic, but it is an open thread…..

I’d like to know who the genius was that designed the rear entrance to the new
Wal-Mart in the Manassas Mall. If you go in from Ashton Avenue, or around Sears
and by the food court entrance, you must do a U-turn to get into the back of

When you come out the same way - you must take a U-turn to get back to Ashton
Ave or thru the mall parking lot. Oh, and there’s a sign saying “No U-Turn from this
    Lane” when you come out.

It is one big cluster-f. Noone knows where they should go, how to get in, and they are going in circles trying to figure it out.

Why didn’t they just make it easy to get in and around like the old Sears? If you
want to bypass going into Wal-Mart altogether, you still have to go through their
“yard” and manuver thru this maze to get to JC Penney, etc. I’m pissed that they
have messed up a perfectly good mall.

Yesterday I was at the Kline’s Freeze on route 28 near Manassas Park. When I pulled up I noticed four latino men in their young 20’s staring at me and my girlfriend. She even mentioned it to me but I wasn’t intimidated and just went about my business. We got out, placed our order, ate, then returned to the car. When we got back the men were gone and so was my girlfriend’s purse. I swore that I locked the car but it’s a keyless entry and I guess I accidentally hit the unlock button when I put it in my pocket because there was no forced entry.

She lost an expensive coach purse and a blackberry. Luckily she had her wallet and keys in her pocket. We filed a police report but I don’t expect to see any of those items ever again.

I’m not accusing anyone of this but it does seem rather fishy that we were stared down when we arrived. It pisses me off, I grew up in Manassas and that is not the place I remember.

    This happen to anyone else?

This debt and economic situation is much more serious than most people think, even those who know how disastrous Obama’s polices are. CNN, which is not known as a bastion of anti-Obama sentiment, reported last week ( http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/19/news/economy/debt_interest/index.htm ) that by 2015 (only five years away) interest payments on the federal debt will consume a full third of all taxes paid. The same report states that the US will accumulate nearly another $5 trillion in debt over the next ten years solely from new interest obligations.

Interest rates and inflation remain in check only temporarily because of weakness in the economy. It may seem counter-intuitive, but the massive fiscal and monetary stimuli are giving us a short-term boost in a few sectors of the economy, thus the strong third quarter GDP report. Other economies are rebounding as well.

As the economy strengthens, the debt and massive monetary stimulus are going to trigger much higher interest rates and inflation. These trends are already manifest in the commodities markets and the value of the dollar. Investors globally are moving into hard assets and fleeing anything linked to the dollar.

Unless these policies and trends are corrected, we will face another economic debacle within the next ten years. Next time, however, the problems will include a worthless dollar, high inflation and interest rates, and a formerly sovereign US dependent on even more borrowing from countries that don’t really like us, and on the mercy of oil producing nations to keep warm in winter and to drive to work.

Obama and the dems are leading us down the same path of debt, inflation and worthless currencies that so many socialist dictators in banana republics have taken their people.

But buy the guns and ammo first, then the canned ham. Otherwise, someone with guns and ammo will take it away from you.

On another note, maybe some of you out there in Prince William County land can give me advice on how to handle a neighborhood problem. Saturday afternoon I and a few friends were enjoying the warm sun and some cold beer on my deck after the Buckeyes trounced the team up north. Then, from the property adjacent to my back forty, came the sound of guns. Lots of them. This has happened before, and I generally don’t mind it, because it’s been shotgun and pistol fire, and the shooting is far enough away (300 yards) that I feel safe from any strays. Then I heard the unmistakeable report of a large calibre sporting rifle. I guestimate it was a .303 or larger. It was definitely not a 7.62 Chicom. Then I heard the whistling of tumbling rounds that had richocheted and were flying overhead.

My friends headed for my basement, and I, as I’ve always done, headed in the direction of the sound of the guns (something in my breeding). I yelled “Cease fire” and the firing stopped. I continued through the woods till I got to the house where the shooters were on their deck. They had been shooting off of it in the direction of my house. I recognized one of them and told him that richocheted rounds were flying over my house, and could he please construct a backstop before he shot a rifle again. He denied the possibility and when I persisted, told me to get off his property. Being outgunned, I complied with the request.

I made a call to the non-emergency PWC police number and requested a car come out. They responded, and told me they’d talk to the guy about safety and such, but that he was completely legal as long as he was 100 yards from my house. If I couldn’t show proof of bullet holes in my property or person, there was nothing they could do.

Now I like guns and target shooting and am a lifetime member of NRA, but I feel a bit threatened by someone shooting a rifle designed to bring down a moose or larger at ranges up to 1000 yards when I’m only 500 yards away. Any suggestions on how to handle this? Besides moving and besides terminating his residency? Anyone have a similar experience?

It is nothing but a glorified strip mall. You wanna mall that has some class…….go to Fair Oaks. Stray bullets landing anywhere on your property (if you can prove it) are a common law trespass. You should be able to get a citizen’s warrant from the magistrate. Or you could try for an injunction in circuit court if you have the proof. Your neighbors are assholes for not having a proper backstop.

My buddy was down here in Manassas this past week on travel and he got a sinus infection. Not wanting to spend $70 copay at the hospital he went to four urgent care or walk in clinics in PWC or Manassas. None of them took insurance, they all wanted cash and three of the four didn’t speak English. My buddy is of Portugeuse decent and they assumed he was spanish so they wouldn’t or couldn’t talk English to him, so he went to Fairfax yesterday to get treated. Sad state of affairs in this area that we’ve been overrun like this.

Let’s face it America is at a turning point. Yes, Bush is too blame for a lot of the economic issues, but so are the Dems and now obama. He is all talk when it comes to controlling spending. He simply is wired as a Dem to see Government spending as the best thing for the Country, and I don’t expect at this age and stage, he is able or even willing to change.

He wants to legalize an estimated 20 million illegals, which will make a bad job market worse, and lead to even more illegal immigration. All the financial experts are saying this is pretty much going to be a jobless economic recovery. Interest rates will explode, just as they did in the late 70’s. While it is very popular to pile on the rich and increase taxes on them to help pay for additonal social programs, we can take every penny of their earnings and it will not be enough to cover the costs of the increase in spending.

Add to the very possibility of increased terrorist attacks inside the Country, and even outside at our overseas interests thanks to a change of of attitude on the part of obama on terrorism.

Add all of this up and the future is not so bright.

I would try to talk with your neighbor again, and ask if he would not mind shooting in a different direction.

Slick, to redistribute the wealth you have to have some. Now China and other hold most of our wealth (our debt, their “assets”). So, there is not that much to redistribute. And, to continue to redistribute the wealth, we have to continue to produce it, but most of our production will be committed to repaying our debt - China’s assets.

Jobless recovery - is not a recovery. They can call it one, but those without a job will not buy into that diatribe.

Illegals - there are probably 50 million or more illegals in the country. Once granted citizenship, they will apply to have their relatives join them. If on average, each brings in two family members, that’s an additional 100 million that will be added to our overpopulated country.

You want to become familiar with the position of the left and other Open Border types - then go to the Bluffing Post, I mean Huffington Post. Go to some of their blogs that cover or deal with immigration. Read their responses to the blogs and you will see proof that: Liberalism is a mental disorder.

That’s a great quote from Maggie, Slick. I could read her quotes, or Ronald Reagan’s, all day. If you want to read more Reagan quotes, be uplifted rather than bummed out, as I am whenever I hear Obama and the dems, or just want some inspiration, go to http://www.reaganlibrary.com. This is the official web site of the Reagan Library, which is located just north of Los Angeles.

If you are ever in the LA area, put a visit to the Reagan Library at the top of your list of things to do. I’ve been twice and feel better about the world whenever I’m there. Some of my kids were too young to appreciate the place last time I was there but I will take them to spend a day when they are a little older.

You even get to walk through Reagan’s actual Air Force One, which is housed inside a giant building with a huge glass wall overlooking the Simi Valley. The people at the museum are incredibly nice also. They don’t rush you around, like when you are going through Air Force One, and are always ready to answer questions or talk to you.

Since this is an open thread, I want to throw out one more thing and ask if anyone else has had similar experiences.

We have some pre-school children who stay at a private day care center while my wife and I are at work. One of the employees was actively trying to program them into new Obamatrons. The kids started cheering Obama’s name when he appeared on TV. The worst incident was when the kids started waving some small American flags we gave them and called them the “Obama Flag.” My wife and I corrected the kids quickly and are trying to explain to them that Obama is not a good president. We tried to deprogram them also by showing them photos of and books about Ronald Reagan.

I’m not going to mention the name of the day care center yet because we spoke with the director who said that this kind of conduct by employees who have contact with the children is unacceptable. The guilty employee was identified. That employee has not been fired but advised that further such conduct is inappropriate. We hope this action resolves the problem

My concern now is what might be going on that we don’t know about. Are kids in these day care centers, or even in the schools, being programmed and told not to discuss it with their parents?

    Just the Facts-
Keep an eye on them. There are thousands of unscrupulous teachers who indoctrinate our kids on a daily basis. We were taught in high school (Falls Church, class of ‘79) to look at issues from all sides to find an answer. Our colleges are a perfect example of opinionated instruction. I will be double damned if I pay the equivilent of a mortgage to have my kids be taught by those nut cases. I recall being ridiculed by instructors at GMU for my opinions, which had been formed at that point by four years of travelling the world in the Marines and two years at NOVA Annandale, paid out of my pocket with full time employment. When I asked the Dean about this behavior, I was told to transfer if I wasn’t happy. So much for the alleged sensitivity of liberals. I continued my education elsewhere. Stay involved in their educations. Much of what you see will amaze you.

I agree with Johnson. I’m also a member of the class of 79 (Marshall HS) and JMU ‘83. While I did experience some of the “opinionated instruction” he speaks of, it certainly wasn’t at the level that it is now. In fact, I encountered much more “agenda driven” teaching in college than I did in HS. I don’t have kids, however, so I dont’ see a lot of what Johnson is seeing now but what I read and hear angers the hell out of me. Entire generations have been hijacked by these left wing loons.

We don’t need to worry about the national debt. Obama will declare a national fiscal emergency after the economy recovers and get Congress to pass the Federal Accounts Reduction TAX (FART). This tax will be modeled after the European Value Added Tax and will be used exclusively to pay down the National Debt. Of course Congress will continue to create more debt faster than the FART tax can pay down the debt. That’s a lot of manmade green house gas.

You need to look for a private day care that is run from the owners house. We used one in Manassas, and were very happy, and in fact have remained friends with the entire family five years after our son “graduated” from the day care. It is a Christian Day care, and they don’t like illegals either, which is a plus.

All very true. I know it’s not a recovery, but that’s the BS being pushed by obama. Of course that is exactly what he wants, so that more people have to look toward the Government for help, which allows the Dems to grow the Government, and put even more of the burden on the “rich”.

Bingo. Our curent President is just the latest in a long line pushing the agenda.

All we have to do is listen to what the say.

“We shall have world government, whether or not we like it. The question is only whether world government will be achieved by consent or by conquest.” - James Warburg (Rothschild Banking Agent 1950)

“Some even believe we are a part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty and I am proud of it.” - David Rockefeller from his book, David Rockefeller: Memoirs.

“We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order.” - David Rockefeller

“In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn’t such a great idea after all.” - Strobe Talbott, Former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State 1992

“To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men, their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas.” - G. Brock Chisholm, co-founder of the World Federation for Mental Health, former director of UN World Health Organization

Then in the late eighties and on into the ninities, these same so called environmental groups supported increased immigration and backed or looked the other way on illegal immigration. But, they still hold to their inconsistent logic - that overpopulation is not good for the environment, but most continue to support increased illegal and legal immigration.

    Just the Facts-

Hopefully by speaking to the director about this teacher will nip it in the bud right away, but if it continues, or you feel the need to leave, my kids go to a smaller daycare facility that has grown to several locations over the years. In fact they’ve been to two different locations within this company and in the 5+ years we’ve been with this company, I’ve yet to have an issue where they’re teaching the children anything contrary to what I would teach them myself. And anytime we’ve had any sort of issue, they’ve been very supportive and more than willing to work together to correct it (i.e. behavioral and/or developmental concerns). They have a great philosophy on how to treat children and how to discipline and correct unwanted behaviors that we’ve adopted at home because it was very close to how we wanted to raise our kids, and the consistency makes a difference.
