the 79th would be proud to have Dave Marsden represent us. We don’t care if he has a residence here or not. A post office box at Jeke’s barber shop, country store (and post office in the back) is good enough for us! Go Dave!

…and yea’all come on down for our mountain oyster festival next month. We plan to invite Dave Marsden to be our honorary marshal for the parade.

George H.W. Bush was cheesy for doing that, but what Marsden is doing goes beyond cheesy. Bush did not need to be a resident of Texas to run, but Marsden DOES need to be a resident of the 37th Dist. to run. I agree with Greg here. This is something that someone should file a challenge to (if this room is really his residence, did his wife of 40 years move to the room with him or are they now “separated”?) This smacks of election fraud.

Not to say what Marsden is doing is kosher, but I seem to recall George H.W. Bush merely having a Houston hotel room as his “official Texas residence.” This same kind of nonsense was attempted in Herndon as Tom Rust’s Democratic opponent moved into the 86th District just to run for the House of Delegates - and lost. Marsden will go down in flames for so many reasons, housing notwithstanding.

I feel bad for Chapman because he will be the bar by which stupid campaigns are measured for as long as memory serves. Rishell couldn’t unseat him. Perhaps Marsden….

I feel bad for Chapman. From what I hear, he’s did some soul-searching after his last run, grew up a bit, got his degree and married. I also hear he’s a proud pappa now. I attribute his past flailings and failings to immaturity and bad counsel. Marsdan has no such excuse to fall back on. This is just another prime example of Dems seeking power for power’s sake. It’s not about service to the community, it’s about power and their ideology. They need to be defeated. They need to be pushed into permanent minority status.
