This time Obama bows down to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, following his previous bowing before the Japanese Emperor. Reportedly, North Korean dictator Kim Jung-Il is anxious to have Obama come visit so he can render similar honors.

The one that beats this one is the video being circulated of the Chinese
snubbing Obama’s handshake. The look on the faces of those men is
priceless!

The general reaction in India has been: Who the heck does this guy think he is? Note to the Great Diplomat: When you do a head of state an honor, you don’t remind him, in public, of the fact that you have done him an honor, particularly in self-aggrandizing terms of this sort.

It is called respect - and it does no harm in the US showing a little respect when meeting other world leaders. Even if the President is Nixon, Eisenhower, Bush or Obama.

Obama is demonstrating his puppy rank on the world stage. One thing is very telling in all these photos of his bowing to foreign heads of state/ royalty etc.; The bow he offers is not returned - the “respect” that Pat reads is not being reciprocated.
All these greeting gestures are symbolic… the handshake shows you are unarmed. The head bow exposes your neck to a potential sword.
Respect is mutual, Pat. Head up. Eye contact. Mirrored posture.
If Obama came to my home - dropped his head to avoid eye contact and lower himself to me, my dogs would immediatly read his body language as submission.

Bowing shows as subserviency when it’s not returned in kind. Did they bow to him in return? No. The POTUS shouldn’t bow to anyone.

The big propaganda promise was that Obama could and would repair and restore America’s reputation. Improve it’s standing in the world pecking order.
Obama’s attempts to apologize and kowtow to anyone and everyone in the world did just that …. Whether he’s shaking hands with dictators or deferentially bowing to royalty, he’s clearly trying to undermine and diminish American superiority in exchange for the acceptance of subordinate America.

Bridget, I am convinced that the reason for Obama’s soft (and pathetic) stance
towards the Muslim world is simply…..Obama is a Muslim!!

Fran: Obama is not a Muslim, no conspiracies por favor. He is however from a family of immigrants who will hopefully reform our country’s outdated policies towards those seeking better lives from Latin America & other developing nations. I have several friends from Indonesia delighted that Obama is now President but I personally am a little conflicted having come here legaly and being fairly conservative in my personal life.
