Sudley Elementary Locked Down

By Greg L | 5 January 2010 | Crime, Prince William County | 5 Comments

Breaking…

I’ve just been told that Sudley Elementary School outside of Manassas has been locked down and there’s plenty of police activity at the school.  More as the story develops…

UPDATE 2:00PM:  Whatever the source of the lockdown it seems to be unrelated to anything happening in the school.  More likely, there’s some police activity in the larger neighborhood and this is only a precaution.  Police are at the school, but they seem to be in a more protective stance there than anything else.

UPDATE 2:24PM: Sudley Elementary seems to be the only school in the area with heightened security measures in place.  This might suggest the issue relates to a custody dispute.

UPDATE 4:20PM: Apparently police were looking for the suspect in the stabbing that happened on New Year’s Eve and thought he was or is still in the area.

The lockdown was in response to police looking for the suspect who stabbed a woman on New Year’s day. The incident occurred on Lafayette Ave. the evening of January 1. The police are looking for David Frye. He is a black male about 37 years old. He is about 6′2″ and 220 pounds. He has a large tattoo (words and a symbol) below his right ear. He is considered dangerous. If you see him, call 911.

“This might suggest the issue relates to a custody dispute.” Short sighted, again. David Frye? How can a non-hispanic commit a crime?

    Mr. Carlson,

It would be easy to assume a custody dispute. I have taught children at private institutions. We had to have sign up sheets and ids for parents and those responsible for the children. You would be surprised about how many times a non custodial parent will attempt to get their kid from school. Guess what? There usually is a very good reason why these parents do not have custody. You want to talk about being short sighted. Go look in the mirror.

    Patty,
Just remember when you assume you make an ass out of you and Greg. I would rather have facts posted rather than a guess.

Me thinks Jack is assuming and as they say, removing all doubt. Whilst Greg and Patty have delivered a clear and concise report with real knowledge and background.
