Nobody likes change but a wet baby.

The reelection rates for both Congress as well as the Virginia house of Delegates are truly stupefying.

This entire post lost all credibility when it was stated that Bob Marshall's HB10 will receive "popular bipartisan" support. Really? Are you actually going to try to argue that more than handful of Democrats will vote for that bill? Nope, not gonna happen. Now it may get like I said a handful, but not a large portion, probably not even a majority. But that doesnt matter because the GOP controls the House and doesnt need a single democratic vote.

Additionally, how do you figure that "democracy dies" in the Senate committees? In what way were the Senators not democratically elected? In what way is the party that controls the chamber making the committee assignments as it has always been practiced (yes, believe it or not, even the GOP stacks committees) isnt 'democratic'?? That makes no sense. Besides, it doesnt matter if Speaker Howell places 1 democrat on a committee, or enough to be just under half, all he needs is a simple majority vote to pass committee....it isnt some act of divine bipartisanship that he made those assignments, it was political, and every party does it after gaining power....its very naive to not believe so. Sorry.

Big Dog said on 20 Jan 2010 at 3:21 pm: "This is an example of unsavory in-your-face “politics” practiced by both parties."

The FACT of the matter is, as I have said (MANY times) before,
politicians don't SOLVE problems, politicians FUND problems!

Logic says, if you SOLVE a problem, then you cannot justify the FUNDING for the problem.

Examples: War on Crime
                 War on Drugs
                 War on Poverty
                 War on Terror
                 War on Stupidity
                 Immigration
                 Traffic
                 Global Warming
                 Global Cooling
                 War on Stupidity

Why don't we see if we can get a GRANT, say about a 100K, from the Federal Government so we can STUDY this "theory?"

I think the FUNDING would be JUSTIFIED, don't you?

Then, in about six months, when we find that we haven't FOUND anyting (yet) we can ask for some MORE funding, say about 200K.

It'd be EASY if we could get some POLITICIANS involved!

Are you IN?

Republicans have held the majority in the House for some years now, and never tried this kind of garbage. Even when Republicans held the majority in the Senate, Democrats were afforded proportional representation on committees.

No, in Virginia this is a uniquely Democrat phenomenon. Just like how Reid and Pelosi won't let Republicans into the meetings where the healthcare bills have been marked up.

What else does anyone expect out of Duck Colgan?
He has been a bane in the side of Virginia for the last 29 years. I have a personal letter from Duck, signed and dated, yet he voted the other way, imagine that. He refuses to answser letters, phones, faxes and emails. I wonder if his loyal, liberal administrative aide is to cause of some this.
Regardless, Duck only made it in this last time because of voter backlash against the republicans and yet Howell continues his same course just like the Duck. No wonder people get disgusted with likes of the 2 of them.
Duck is finished, he knows it but he doesn't really care despite his nice old image of the little elf he pretends to be.
One thing I personally cannot stand is a flat out liar. The shoe fits him fine. Hey Duck, I ain't politics - it's called lying.

Until you said, "They’ve got more honor than Colgan." I was thinking, PLEASE don't INSULT the three card monty sharks by comparing them with Colgan.

Ain't it amazin' how some voters are so EASILY FOOLED?

"Colgan repeatedly assured his heavily Republican district that we could trust him, a Democrat, to make decisions that would be fair, ethical, and while we might not always agree with him, at least those decisions would be defensible."

This is a guy who stood up in several different venues and told his constituents that the Illegal Invaders who were taking their jobs, destroying their neighborhoods, degrading their children's schools, overloading the County's social services, creating economic chaos, and pissing on sidewalks were hard-working, honest, legal residents who were granted sanctuary from storms and wars. Anyone who believed this lying, traitorous, sack of dog doo-doo after hearing that tripe should go to New York and try his luck with the three card monty sharks.
BVBL: "Colgan repeatedly assured his heavily Republican district that we could trust him..."

I SAY AGAIN:

(These FACTS are excerpts borrowed from Bob FitzSimmonds' letter to the editor of the Potomac News, February 20, 2008)

From Colgan's web-site:

Colgan: "I do NOT SUPPORT any increase in the gas tax."

Colgan: "I do NOT SUPPORT allowing in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.

Bob FitzSimmonds: "After his successful reelection in November, Colgan returned to the Senate this winter and got opportunities to address both of these issues. Already this year, Colgan voted FOR SB 652 allowing in-state tuition for illegal immigrants and FOR SB 713, which will increase the gas tax five cents over the next five years.

Kevin C: SO MUCH for ANYTHING Colgan says!

Sometimes you just HAVE to say things TWICE: SO MUCH for ANYTHING Colgan says!

*** *** *** ***

Add to that, Colgan (probably) doesn't care about ANYTHING!!!

He will (probably) NOT run again!!!

He's SCAMMED the voters TOO MANY times!!!
