When you add these up with other taxes found on the linked website, a single family homeowner with a vehicle in PWC is being taxed $100’s of dollars more than what is debated annualy on setting the “base tax rate” (which is the one we most frequently hear about.)

I’m not sure that we in Prince William County are more fortunate in the tax situation than Loudoun. The BOCS is looking forward to adding an ambulance fee in addition to our fire levy (no other County that I am aware of locally has both). If you check, I think you will find it interesting to note that we, in PWC, are taxed in many areas that are not openly addressed when the BOCS looks at lowering, maintaining, or raising our “tax rate.”

Note that there are many “taxes” levied on us that are not included in the base tax rate of $1.212.

My assessment went down S100K, again…I’m sitting at the home’s worth in 2002.
Many in the county are not this lucky (to lose their homes worth), huh?
The fat is in the schools. And developers packed houses in with 5 children in some of them. So, this is a surprise in a county where 70% of the budget is school related?
Start cutting fat cats in those schools, and at $100K salaries, you can find quite a bit of a savings.

JBo is a long time Waters hater and developer whore. Waters has consistently been for deeper cuts in spending. And slower growth means fewer kids to put through school, which reduces our taxes. She was the only real conservative on the last BOS that got that simple fact. And another school is needed in Ashburn based solely on existing kids moving through the system. There’s no way around that. She was fighting for her district to get the next high school as opposed to the adjacent district. Her district needed the seats before that district. Moron.

Too bad Waters, ED and York have been on the Board for 8 years or so each with Republican and Democrat Boards - both produced huge tax increases in Loudoun!!! So far, the previous R board increased taxes more than this D Board. Remember, Waters was part of the Democrat elected board endorsed by VLF aka VSS…these groups have cost Loudoun taxpayers dearly….and yes the D Board was all backed by this group including Waters…. I remember Waters wanting to spend 100 million on a new school in Ashburn we didn’t need so her constituents kids in Lansdowne wouldn’t need to mingle with Leesburg folk…. BVLI - Waters is no spokesperson for tax cuts…

I also heard in the new they want to increase the property tax reate on Hybrids from $1 TO $4.20
wHAT THE HECK.
People buy those cars and help the planet and economy as well as try to save money. What is the retard rational behind a tax hike on hybrids.
