Jay O'Brien said last night at the FCRC meeting that he will be running for the 39th district Senate seat. This is great news and I hope that everyone will get behind him to defeat George Barker in 2011.

I don't think Colgan voted in favor of the Tenth Amendment. That has been on the books for roughly two centuries and, in any event, is not before the General Assembly now. If he did vote for it, it's too late.

That there was even a single senator voting against this speaks volumes to the deplorable degradation of civics education in our schools. It's like Saul Alinsky has commandeered our schools and filled people's heads with senseless "social justice" mush, leaving us only a hollow shell of the great nation we once were.

When inept legislators like George Barker prattle on about how "healthcare is a right" and showing they have no idea what the difference is between a right and an entitlement some civics teacher is rolling in their grave wondering how the heck their hard efforts yielded such crap. Maybe we can tattoo the bill of rights on Barker's butt so every time he wipes he's reminded of what the heck he's supposed to be doing but not doing.

It's really the fault of the electorate that selected this reprobate though. You look for the reason this happens, you better look in the mirror. When we're so collectively stupid we intevitably select stupid people to represent us.

Ever seen the movie "idiocracy?" You're living it.
