The Trashman Cometh

By Greg L | 11 February 2010 | Humor & Satire, Prince William County | 28 Comments

Got this video clip from a friend last week and felt it’s too funny not to share. Who the heck walks around with a bag of trash hidden under a poncho looking for someone else’s trash cans to leave it next to?

Was that a pony tail? I’d stay away from that “trash” bag.

interesting…hispanic family on my corner does the same thing, they dump their garbage in front of everyones house. I come to find out it’s because they are too cheap to pay for their own trash service so they wait for peoples trash day and dump their stuff in our bins. I caught them red handed a couple times and warned them, I catch their stuff in my bins I’m removing it and placing it back on their front porch. I pay for my service, so they can pay for theirs.

When I go for a walk, I carry several trash bags to pick up trash along the street. If one gets full, I throw it in any bin on the street.

Two Fridays ago I put my recyclables out for pick up. When I came home, my bin had been emptied by my trash service, but someone had placed empty quart bottles of Mexican beer into my recycling bin.

This seems to be a common practice, especially among those renting rooms because trash service is NOT included with the rent.

Another method of trash disposal is to stockpile it on the back porch or in the shed until they make a late night trash drop run to the dumpsters behind one of the shopping centers.

This would be classified as another taxpayer subsidized program for the “other services provided free” column.

    dave,

cool..glad to see your helping the environment, it’s cool we have people like that however use your own trash tub. I pay for my waste disposal and dont want other peoples garbage in my tub. dont be surprised if a bag you dump in someones tub ends up back on your porch when your done with your walk.

    yeah,

I called the HOA on the people down the street doing this junk to me, The HOA dug through the trash bags, found a bill with their name on it and fined them 250.00 after I continued complaining. Interestingly enough, the bags stopped appearing by my trash can (they probably wound up in someone else’s though :) Guess the Mexicans cant afford trash service or something…

If you can’t afford trash service, you can take your trash to the dump. The only excuse there is lazyness, which is supposedly a problem with the American populace that we need these hard workers for??!?!?!

hard workers? what a crock! the only thing they work hard doing is drinking and taking leaks on the sides of 7-11’s….

Free healthcare, free education and now free trash service at the expense of neighbors. Since PWC will start charging for ambulance service I suppose no more free transport to the hospital.

Better watch the nearby tenants to see whether they have trash pick up. If not they may be using “your” service.

No, Kevin, if it had been Mongolian beer, I would have been a little suspicious of Mongolians. However, because it was Mexican beer, I suspect pampered American college students who, for reasons, that never made sense to me, think pricey imported Mexican beer is cool. I always found it watery and insipid. I guess they grow out of it.

Nice try - it wasn’t pricey imported Mexican beer…. it was quart bottles of some brand I had never heard of…

    nova,

actually one of the very few times I agree with you, most of that stuff is downright nasty…although I’m a professed beer snob. anything that comes in a clear bottle is gonna be nasty because it get’s lightstruck. I saw most of the illegals around 7-11 drinking the cheap stuff, like pabst, schlitz and other stuff. probably whatever is on sale is what they drink, I doubt they discriminate when alcohol is concerned.

No doubt “PAMPERED” by their parents in their home countries where they ACQUIRED a taste for American beer?

“Some day, my son, ju weel go to America where ju can drink thees fine American beer all day long by de side of de 7-11.”

Ya THINK, maybe, they stick a wedge of LIME in their PBR’s ???

Chicko - we can always go have a beer together. I had a very fine Sierra Nevada “wet hops” brew the other day. Absolutely first rate. Give that a try. I think it may be seasonal, so don’t wait too long.

PS: to assay the accuracy of DportM’s powers of observatiion, the next time you’re in a 7-11, look to see how many cheap Mexican beer brands you can find sold in quart bottles.

They’re probably not quart bottles, but 40oz bottles, the preferred size for bums and winos. I must confess that I’ve not perused 7-11’s selection of bum wines, do they carry MD 20/20?

sierra nevada is good beer, I’ve had that brew and it’s pretty good stuff. try the dogfish head 90-minute if you really want a good hops experience, although you may have tried it already. I’ve scored a few bottles of the dogfish 120-minute, 20 percent ABV…strong stuff. One beer is enough!

I have a few batches I’ve brewed myself ready to keg soon, I used the cold weather of late for lagering..just stuck the bottles out in the back yard :)

Was that some type of flag on his poncho? I thought I made out the word “Chivas” and some other espanol. Nova, how can we be sure he’s not a Lithuanian in disguise. C’mon and take the bait, we all know that’s what you want to argue.

i really dig that poncho though! I still have a couple I bought in Tijuana years ago…still quite comfy! Maybe I’ll throw it on, grab a brew (or two) and wander the streets with a trash bag :)

I thought “Chivas” was a scotch whiskey. A fairly pricey one at that. LIthuanians often do use disguises that enable them to pass for Latvians. Stay Alert out there.

“chivas” also translates to “goat” en espanol …. Mexican soccer team named Las Chivas de Guadalajara.

Scheves family ( derived from the Gaelic ’seam has’) ‘Schivas’ an ancient Scottish surname taken from a small village, Schivas, on the banks of the River Ythan in Aberdeenshire, in the North East of Scotland.

    Two completely different pronunciations.

Mexicans in my ‘hood wear red shirts with a big unfortunate “BIMBO” logo across the chest. Bimbo is a Mexican bread/snack co. that sponsors shirts for several Mexican futbol teams.

You can wash down your BIMBO cookies with Chivas Regal scotch whiskey while watching the Guadalajara goats.

yeah, it’s blended scotch…it’s not bad, but single-malt is better (and more expensive). I dont see an illegal drinking chivas regal, unless they stole it or got it free somehow

Single Grain, Blended Grain, Single Malt, Blended Malt and Blended Scotch Whisky.

Matter of personal taste. Had an (now ex) in-law who got his snob on touting the vast superiority of single malt over blended …. last I heard he was headed for weekly dialysis. Your liver doesn’t discriminate.
