You're absolutely correct, Starryflights. Free speech is free speech, and there is nothing anyone can really do to force protestors to take down the demeaning signs which serve only to harm our own cause. But we are in a totally serious fight here, and not just over the health care reform issue. We have got to fight smart, especially when the other side has a biased media which will zero in every time on the negatives and claim that those negatives are just indicative of us all. Our silence just gives them more ammo since they will always claim that silence means tacit assent. Battle is hard enough when you have the opposition we have, but I am getting more than a little pissed at having to fend off needless assaults brought on by those stupids among us. We may not have the right to chase them away. But we can certainly divorce ourselves from them publically and then shove the biased media crap right back into the faces of that media.

NO, I do not believe so. This BILL will change our lives forever. What could be more important? Sure, there may be a few with very good excuses, but not so for most people that did not go. I went...limping all the way on an injured knee. Congress is ignoring us.....the more people that showed up for THIS rally, the more chance it might have concerned them and their jobs.

Starry:
We went to the big rally on 9/12 and have made calls. There are valid reasons why many people who went on 9/12 couldn't make it yesterday. So your "don't want to hear any complaints" is out of line IMHO.

If you did not go to yesterday's rally and live in the D.C. area and yes PWC that includes you, I don't want to hear any complaints from you when this Health Care Bill passes. WE NEEDED you yesterday and unless you were in the hospital.....YOU should have been there!

Here is a link to a photo of yesterday's rally. The WaPo says there were "hundreds" there. Try ten's of thousands. I would estimate 40,000 to 50,000. The photo doesn't show everyone... there were many more people there by the end of the rally at 2 p.m. And the write-up in the WaPo is just slanderous. I don't know how they manage to stay in business...

We still have freedom of speech in this country....at least for now. Those people have a right to their signs. Yes, they do hurt, as the media uses them to dismiss the Tea Party, but would you really want someone to tell you what sign YOU may carry?

And it seems that on the Mall there was somebody with a sign with a drawing of a .9mm Browning. The sign said: "If Brown can't do it, Browning can." That sign played right into the hands of the Huffington Post, as did a couple of other absolutely insane actions against Dem congressmen attributed to some of the demonstrators. As an inveterate supporter of the Tea Party movement, I have a question for those "leaders" listed above. When in the name of all that is holy are you going to rid us of the stupids who seem always to provide comfort and ammo to the MSM and their blogging allies? I am getting damned sick and tired of having to defend our movement against the aftermath of such stupidity. Now, I know full well that the opposition will try to magnify every untoward happening a thousand fold or more. And I have no doubt that the Huff Post and others cherrypicked this thing. But I am getting royally pissed at having to counter this just because the stupids are the stupids among us. I know full well that it is impossible to control something like this, just as it was impossible during the 1960's and 1970's for anti-war leaders to control some of the more outlandish stunts of their demonstrators. But, Good Lord, say something about it. Disown these stupids. Anything.

My husband and I went to the rally in D.C. today. I wish more people would have come. Seems no matter how many come, it is down played by all the media. Oh well, it was a great day.

What a day; we were there! Capitol Police estimates were 35-40K people opposed to the health care bill...of course, NBC estimated 1500 - 2000!!! If after this we can't survive after this, it's just a matter of the fact that too many failed to come out and vote.

Our only remaining opportunity remains in November '10...this travesty MUST be stopped!!

Patriotic Resistance

A message to all members of Patriotic Resistance
Hello Patriots!!

What a great day!!! I have just spoken with our National Director Darla Dawald and she is excited!! Here are a
few things she wanted me to tell all of you:

The Rally went well and the folks there were great! There were 40-50,000 of our Fellow Patriots on the West Lawn. The numbers are STILL coming in, but you will not hear this on the mainstream news media. The People were chanting "Kill The Bill". During the Rally the Speakers were giving updates on the BlueDog Democrats
w/numbers for folks to call. And they were burning those lines up!

After the event Folks went of to the Office Buildings of their Respective house members only to find
one of the Buildings had the doors locked. In Fine American Patriot form - the crowds were chanting -
"Nancy - Let us IN!"

So - where does the HealthCare Bill Stand: "Deem and Pass" is Dead in the Water. They will be voting
on it Tomorrow. Word is that Nancy Pelosi does NOT have the votes for this bill. KEEP CALLING, KEEP
FAXING, KEEP EMAILING!!!!

Tonight Darla, Amy and a few others will be going to a Candlelight Vigil @ 7:30 at the United States
Supreme Court.

Darla hopes to be making an Audio update here pretty soon. You can find that on the main page http://www.resistnet.com/

She will be posting pics from the event as well so look for those. Oh and she got to meet Jon Voight!

So folks, Keep up the Great job you are doing - keep those calls, emails and faxes going in - and
Pray without Ceasing!

Thanks,
Mellie Reid

Gerry Scumbag Connolly, according to WTOP, will be voting yes for the healthcare bill. Everyone should be calling him to let him know he's gone come November!

Here are the details for the event, for those wondering what the program is going to be.

"The Tea Party Patriot Movement: Vindicating the Founders"

Date: Saturday, March 20, 2010
Time: 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Location: Chantilly Regional Library
4000 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly, VA 20151-2628
Room: Chantilly Meeting Room
THIS EVENT IS FREE

PROGRAM EVENTS:

WELCOME

HOW THE TEA PARTY PATRIOT MOVEMENT WILL CHANGE AMERICA FOR THE BETTER, Richard Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ and Viguerie Marketing Institute

CITIZENS UNITED: CITIZENS FREED – IMPLICATIONS FOR CITIZEN ACTIVISTS, David Mason, Former Chairman of the Federal Election Commission

RESTORING THE REPUBLIC -- WHY THE TEA PARTY PATRIOT MOVEMENT IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE, Patrick McSweeney, Constitutional Lawyer and former RPV Chairman

HOW CONSERVATIVE ACTIVISTS CAN BE MOST EFFECTIVE IN CHANGING AMERICA FOR GOOD, Jamie Radtke, Chairman of Virginia Tea Party Patriots

QUESTIONS AND OPEN DISCUSSION

CLOSING

The spontaneous emergence of Tea Party and Patriot groups throughout the United States over the last year and a half has unsettled the Nation's politics. This movement offers an opportunity not experienced in decades to take back power from an overgrown and intrusive government. As with other spontaneous political movements in the past, it is not yet clear whether this movement will consolidate sufficient power and organize around a coherent agenda to remain a viable force. The mainstream media has caricatured the movement as a collection of hateful, anti-government extremists, lacking a positive political agenda. Seldom in our history has the media been so wrong. While those drawn to the movement are plainly angered by their loss of liberty and the arrogance and disregard of constitutional limits on the part of many in power, these movement activists are motivated by a positive vision of a Republic as the Founders intended it. This can be the basis of a lasting, compelling political agenda, but that agenda can be implemented only through effective political action. This conference will explore how this can be accomplished.
