To Protect and Defend

Commentary by Sanford D. Horn

Article II, Section I of the Constitution of the United States of America requires the President swear an oath of office that includes the words to “protect and defend” that very document.

Upon the administration of said oath, that president becomes Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. United States military officers in turn swear an oath that includes the words, “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

This administration, under the auspices of Barack Obama is about to enter into an unholy alliance with the world, with few exceptions, declaring the United States will not take up and use nuclear weapons against any nation that does not already posses them. Apparently Iran and North Korea are the exceptions to this insidious decision.

How obtuse can this so-called leader be? This is not a game of HORSE Obama is playing on the White House basketball court where he can “spot” his opponent the “H” and “O” simply because he is an inferior player. War is war and is designed to annihilate ones enemies in an effort to permanently end their enmity or prevent them from being able to destroy our way of life.

Obama’s pronouncement is disgraceful and there is no doubt that former President Harry Truman is spinning in his grave like a dreidel at Chanukah. G-d bless the memory of Harry Truman, a Democrat, who had to make two of the most difficult decisions in American History by dropping not one, but two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end World War II in victory against Japan. Japan initially attacked the United States with the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, officially drawing this nation into the war.

Conventional and historical wisdom denotes that had the United States not used the most stringent of its armaments – the atomic bomb – in order to vanquish our enemy, the potential loss of American life could have reached a devastating and unthinkable one million combat personnel. Should atomic weaponry not have been employed simply because Japan had not yet procured the equalizing technology? Should LeBron James sit out against the hapless Washington Wizards in an effort for the Cleveland Cavaliers to level the playing field?

That extremely faulty logic is not just insipid, but dangerous, and this kind of handcuffing of the United States military could be deemed an act of treason perpetrated by the Commander in Chief for not being prepared to advance the course of a conflict with the maximum capabilities available. Should the most damaging and deleterious of our military capabilities not be used should the United States come under an attack by a non-nuclear nation who instead opts for chemical or biological weapons?

Obama has demonstrated his inability to lead having given free passes to both North Korea and Iran by his lack of sanctions against those rogue nations. Concurrently, Obama has taken to berating and chastising Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East, simply for building houses for their own citizenry.

As Commander in Chief, Obama has the obligation to enter into a potential war with as much fervent zealousness as can be delivered. To do otherwise or consider doing otherwise would put the national security of the United States in a vulnerable position, weaken our defenses, and could be characterized as treason, or at the very least, impeachable.

This is not surprising. The progressives (socialist/communists) strongly rail against self protection at the personal level - preferring to be victims, rather than to take responsibility for their own well being.

Obama is simply ratcheting this idiocy up to the world level.

It is just as dangerous, and just as stupid. Of course, the liberals who are in a position to tell us that we cannot protect ourselves, all have bodyguards, armored cars and alarm systems - all paid for by us peasants.

Just as Obama has his escape route, shelter and well being guaranteed in case one of his intellectual comrades decides to try the mettle of an inner city vote rigger.

Perhaps all contingencies for our “leaders” existence in the case of a nuclear attack need to be stood down. We could save millions - if not billions.

And then they will use the same health care they are forcing on us.

Tell me when Elvis arrives, k?

What do you expect from a person not qualified for the job? Not tested by time or experience, nor really all that well educated. He, without a telepromter would fall flat or only muster a chant type style speech he learned while attending something that was called a church. All these persons that are drinking the swill passed out by these far lefties better be prepared to send their sons and daughters into harms way as he lets down the guard. Then what will they say, who will they blame.

To quote the last idiot to a bunch of hungry pissed off iraqies who just got there a kicked with our troops rideing around in aluminum cans and no body armour” Bring it on”. Wonder how many kids got blown up because of that one. Do you guys want to go to war with that one again? Wonder if you guys will complain about the deficit this time. Disgusted: Are you serious in your assertion? Whipped on health care? The so-called leader had to cajole and arm twist to barely squeak across the finish line on that one, and there’s no guarantee it won’t be properly repealed due to its unconstitutionality. Get a grip, pal, the only thing health care has to do with the nukes issue is the megalomania by this president to control all aspects of our lives and turn this country into a two-bit socialist banana republic. Let’s see where the rest of the world is when they can’t depend upon the United States any longer.

Off topic, but does anyone know what the tax rates will be
in Manassas Park for FY2010-11? MP is a city with a population
of well over 10,000 people next door to Prince William County
and the City of Manassas, but getting any timely accurate basic
information is almost impossible The local news media is
worthless when it comes to seeking MP financial data.
It might as well be North Korea.

This is what is on the back of the Real Estate Tax assessment that went out yesterday.

“There will be a public hearing on the effective Real Estate Tax Rate for FY 2010-2011 on Tuesday May 4, 2010 in City Council Chambers…. The FY 2010-2011 real estate tax rate, which will apply to the 2010 assessed value, will be set by the Governing Body at a subsequent meeting after the public hearing.”

Looks like assessments are the same as last year.

Thank you for the informations. Know PWC and
Manassas have gone through numerous meetings and hearings on
their proposed FY 2010-11 budgets, but hadn’t heard about MP.
Assume the MP City Manager will present a recommended
budget before May 4th to allow citizens time to read it prior to
    the public hearing.

Uh, the Pershing missiles were given up in exchange for a ton of SS-20 missiles that could target all of Western Europe.

And when you use even a “small” nuke, you are no longer in a conventional war.

The mind is a horrible thing to waste.

    Sigh.

Sanford: Yeah, you’re not too sore about the healthcare loss, are you. Anyway, back to the topic of your essay. You’re mad at Obama for not pointing nukes at a nation that doesn’t have nukes. Help me here. What is the real threat? Russia lobbing one over the Pole? Remember Mutually Assured Destruction? Remember nukes on our subs? That hasn’t gone away. Think China or Russia are that dumb? China is getting as afraid of the terrorists as we are. It the global economy. Iran….that’s a real threat deserving of a preemptive strike. No argument here. Israel will likely handle that one. However, a nuke strike on the US will come from some group (like Al Qaeda) having no national alliances, or some anti-government whack job like Tim McVey (I’m guessing a charter Tea Party member if he hadn’t gone to the Dark Side). Explain how Obama handles that? Point a nuke at Afghanistan?

I really don’t know which is the greater danger. A globalist Post-American President who courts U.N. approval by negotiating from a self inflicted position of weakness, or a country half full of citizens willing to beat their guns into plows as long as the free hand outs keeps coming.

    Cynic,
I said fried, not fired. the point of this summit is to start to take nuclear options off the table. part of the nuclear deterrence strategy is M.A.D. (mutually assured destruction). i would rather not be a victim of said destruction should we sink into s nuclear war. this conference is also about keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of terrorists, and the only way to do that is to secure the nuclear weapons and materials in existence right now. i’m not willing to die in a nuclear attack because the person posting this article feels the need to have the biggest guns in the world.

Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation.

It would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal.

The bill could still face a veto from Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. A spokesman for Ms. Brewer said she has not publicly commented on the bill. Ms. Brewer, a Republican, has argued for stringent immigration laws.

Under the measure, passed Tuesday by Arizona’s lower house, after being passed earlier by the state Senate, foreign nationals are required to carry proof of legal residency.

Immigrants’ rights groups roundly criticized the bill. “The objective is to make life miserable for immigrants so that they leave the state,” said Chris Newman, general counsel for the Los Angeles-based National Day Laborer Organizing Network. “The bill constitutes a complete disregard for the rights of nonwhites in Arizona. It effectively mandates racial profiling.”

The bill’s author, State Sen. Russell Pearce, was in a committee session Tuesday and couldn’t be reached, his offices said. Mr. Pearce, a Republican, represents the city of Mesa, in Maricopa County, whose sheriff, Joe Arpaio, has gained a national reputation for his tough stance on immigration enforcement. A spokesman for Mr. Arpaio didn’t return a request for comment.

The bill is different from an earlier version, giving protections for church and community organizations from criminal prosecution for transporting or harboring illegal immigrants.

In a statement, Tuesday Rep. John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills) called the measure “a comprehensive immigration enforcement bill that addresses the concerns of our communities, constituents and colleagues.”

“This updated version gives our local police officers the tools they need to combat illegal immigration, while protecting the civil rights of citizens and legal residents.”However, human rights groups are certain to challenge the measure in court, said Joe Rubio, lead organizer for Valley Interfaith Project, a Phoenix-based advocacy group, calling it “an economic train wreck.” He added that “Arizona’s economic recovery will lag way behind the country’s if we keep chasing away our workforce. Where do the legislators think business will find workers?”

The bill in some ways toughens up a situation that the Obama administration had tried to roll back. Under a program known as 287g, some local law enforcement agencies were trained to enforce federal immigration laws by checking suspects’ immigration status.

Mr. Arpaio, the Maricopa county sheriff, had been one of the most aggressive enforcers of 287g. However, the Obama administration in recent months has sought to scale back that program, and had reduced the resources it made available to Mr. Arpaio’s office and others.

Please do not! Heck, you do not have to deport the parasitic illegal scum to One Dumpy Co. Illegals know they are welcomed here with Open Arms by the liberals as they give them welfare, exempt them from most of their criminal acts, and the latest rumor I have heard is that the Co. govt. allows them to camp/live in our public parks like Rock Creek Park. Needless to say that Citizens wanting to use the Park for recreational pursuits (it intended use with its costs being funded by our taxes) are afraid to go into the areas of the Parks being squatted by illegals.

Last Friday was asked to participated in a litter pickup of the surrounding area on Saturday by a member of the Citizens Assoc. (am not a member). I refused, informing them that I do not pick up other people’s litter except on my own property. Well, on Saturday I noticed that there were a large group of people in the Park. And also noticed that the volunteers (useful idiots) had picked up a considerable amount (based upon the number and the size of the pile of bags) of trash in the Park that I suspect was thrown and left there by the illegals (squatters).

So, please do not deport illegals to One Dumpy Co. unless you are willing to provide us with some citizen to serve as part of Clean Up Crews for the illegals - one citizen for every 6 and 2/3 illegals - who have come here to work ……….. the system.

Ironic - but Montgomery Co. is bitching about the loss of tax revenue because a good number of millionaires moved out of the County after the State raised the income tax rate on high incomes. Imagine that!

However, what our elected liberal scum failed to mention is that they still are funding social and other projects that benefits the parasitic illegal scum. Makes fiscal sense. Lose revenue; increase expenditures. In One Dump Co.- and Maryland for that matter - nothing is too good for an illegal and if the liberal scum has to raise taxes and lay off police and other County/Sate employees to pay for the benefits of the illegals - so be it!

Our government fails the most basic and primary task & duty of government, spelled out in our Constitution Article IV Section IV to protect this Nation and its Citizens from invasion and enforce its laws.
Our Government, past & present, Republican & Democrat, have allowed the invasion of 20 to 30 million criminals and uneducated peons which is the largest invasion of any Nation, at any time, by any means & in direct violation of Article IV Section IV of our Constitution.
This refusal by our Lawless Politicians to abide by our Constitution, enforce our Immigration Laws and honor their Oath of Office should be classified as Treason of the most foul kind, & as grounds for Impeachment & trials for Treason!
Not only have they allowed the invasion, they have aided, encouraged & assisted in this invasion and provided sanctuary for the invaders. While forcing American tax payers to pay Billions on Billions of dollars to provide Welfare, Prison cells, Educate the invaders numerous children, and free medical care, at the same time the invading horde break numerous laws and massive document fraud, & are destroying our schools, hospitals, communities, culture and standard of living while Robbing, Raping, Killing & Assaulting American Citizens at an rate that Islam Terrorist can only dream about.
Recent statements in Mexico from both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary something needs to be done. “Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers, and civilians,” Hillary whined.
But no mention, whines, concern or care that their refusal to stop the Massive Invasion of Illegal Aliens pouring across our borders or enforce our immigration laws that causes an estimated 25 Americans deaths per day and 10,s of thousands victims of Assault, Robberies, Rapes, Identify thief, and other assorted crimes committed by the invading horde of Illegal Aliens on American citizens each year!
It is a telling indictment & shows their Empathy & Compassion of our Politic class & their priorities are not for the American citizens when they express more concern over Mexicans deaths mostly connected to the Drug trade, than the murders, havoc & crimes of Illegal Aliens against American Citizens!
The Democrats view the invading horde of Criminals and Uneducated, Prolific breeding, Third World rejects as Undocumented Welfare Democrats & the Republicans as Undocumented Slave labor for their Pay Masters in the Chamber of Commerce & Businesses!
Most of our Politicians in Wash. DC are wading knee deep in innocent American blood and suffering because they put Self Interest ahead of the interest of American Citizens & the future of this Nation!
The Citizens of this Nation have not sacrificed with blood, sweat & tears for over 200 years & obeyed the Laws of the land, paid the taxes, and fought the wars & built this Nation to see Corrupt politicians turn this Nation into the United States of Mexico without a shot being fired, to serve their demented, nefarious goals!
