And the 11th District Winner Is…
By Greg L | 8 June 2010 | Fairfax County, US Congress, Prince William County | 30 Comments
Keith Fimian wins. Congratulations to both campaigns on a hard-fought race, and especially to the Fimian team for proving a lot of people wrong.
9:09PM: 98% of precincts reporting, Fimian wins 56-44%. Herrity narrowly wins in Fairfax, while Fimian crushed in PWC. Call this “the day when Fairfax couldn’t make up it’s mind, so Prince William picked for them.”
Keith Fimian carried Prince William County by a 3-1 margin. Incredible. If he can get that same intensity in November, Gerry Connolly is finished.

Good luck Fimian. The counting for your country started already

Excellent video of Dennis Prager speaking of importance of coming November elections - REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!
That Jackson Miller endorsement didn’t help…
Gerry Connolly is a very happy man tonight. Thank you to all the Fimianistas.
I know there were Democrats coming out to vote for Fimian in order to help Connolly in November. But that doesn’t account for this big a margin. You all did a fine job.
Thank you.
No, Nat, GC did himself in by going along with the poll-plummeting progressives who rammed through lots of crappy legislation in opposition to the will of the people. REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!
“If he can get that same intensity coming out for him in November, Gerry Connolly is finished”
We agree. I also believe that if a bullfrog had wings, there’d be no need to bump his ass on every landing.
Fimian won’t stack up enough votes against Connolly in November. Herrity was your only shot at that…. And PWC is SQUARELY responsible for the loss in November.
Remember, this was like selecting the biggest baddest fish in the gallon of a fishbowl, and then releasing him into the sea in November.
I can’t wait for November.

Connolly can’t even host an open townhall to face his electorate. He got elected because he rode in on the (D) ticket… the
HOPE-AND-CHANGEROPE-AND-CHAINS coattails of the Obamao machine. He had nothing else going for him. Nothing.IMO, things have changed. But, we’ll see. There’s so many dhimmicrats towing the Lenin Line in NOVA. Anything’s possible.
I know there were Democrats coming out to vote for Fimian in order to help Connolly in November.
Wouldn’t that be a pisser if that actually got Fimian elected in November?
Yeah, Dems, you just keep on thinking that Keith is going to be a pushover. Please.
And you can really “hope” that Obama’s coattails are going to pull Gerry “The Coward” Connolly over the finish line.
I Can See November From My House
Steve Hunt all over again… why keep picking proven losers???
We know ole Gerry is a coward but I like Gerry “Hit and run” Connolly better.
It has a nicer ring to it. Don’t you all agree???
Way to Go Keith. It is always good that you kept the Demos wondering. And now you can Lead them on in Nov.Just keep the forces out there working for you and you can run Connelly over like a freight train. He is such a slob,he has nothing going for him. So you just keep doing what you did for the Primary.
It is so good to have some real hope now and it’s out and about.
Connelly may think your a push over but we know better and I can’t wait to show him.
Thank you and lets keep an upward look till Nov.
In PWC, Fimian needs to run up some major numbers like he did in the primary and then keep even with Connolly in FFX. Best way to do that is to hit Connolly in PWC on his corrupt earmarks, especially to PWC Sup. Frank Principi who personally benefitted from them. If not for Connolly, Principi wouldn’t have his job that he has today.
I openly supported Pat over Keith, and we lost. Actually, got crushed. I stated before and will again now; we had two good candidates for Congress! The Democrats are crazy if they think Keith is going to be a pushover. His numbers were too strong! We as a party are going to come out and do what we can to support Keith and to get rid of Gerry Connelly. Great campaign Keith, keep it up.
And for Ronald= Pat’s endorsements from John Stirrup, Tim Hugo, Wally Covington, Jackson Miller and myself did not help. You seem to have a wierd fascination with Jackson, you may want to consider professional help.
Thanks Austin…while I supported Keith, I also vowed to support the winner of the primary whomever it happened to be. Now, the primary is over and it’s time for all of us to join together and collectively remove Connolly, a man who has ignored his constituents, from a job that’s clearly more than he can handle.
I supported Pat also but we are now all Keith Fimian people. Congratulations on a strong victory and let’s work to ensure that Keith gets such a strong margin over Connolly in November also.
Nat & Tobias:
Wow, nice teamwork there . . . way to get behind the will of the folks and support the nominee. Of course if Connolly manages to win in November it will all be Keith’s fault, or because he’s a “Loser”, and not because people like you couldn’t suck it up, accept the fact that “your guy” didn’t get the nomination, and support the one guy who now has the only chance for us to get rid of Connolly. Nah . . . you’d rather fuss and moan than help the folks of the 11th get rid of a so-called “representative” who’s nothing more than a rubber stamp for the liberal agenda.
What hurt Pat Herrity was his criticism of Prince William County’s rule of law resolution dealing with illegal aliens. You can’t bash a county for trying to deal with a major problem and then run for office hoping to get votes from the same people you bashed.
I’m just hoping Fimian doesn’t turn RINO.
Just my opinion.
Today is the first day of the November election campaign.
Start now rounding up voters, particularly in Fairfax County, or else it will be a repeat of 2008….
Connolly happy to run against Fimian? Connolly is going to have to run against his own record this time around. And I have already had an opportunity to see some of his strategy for November. I got a robo-call a couple of days ago from him where he touted the one or two occasions recently where he had voted against spending taxpayer money. What was that all about? Since he took office he has gleefully thrown our money away at everything under the sun, and voted on other initiatives changing the very fabric of our way of life for the worse. Happy to run against Fimian? He can’t even show his face at his own townhall meetings these days, unless they are held at an invitation only country-club. There is a serious doubt in my mind whether even Fairfax County will be enough to put him over the top this time around. Herrity’s take (or avoidance) on Prince William County’s rule of law policy and the Centerville day labor center sealed it for me. At least this time around folks won’t have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Sometimes doing the right thing is the right thing to do…
Congratulations, Keith!!!!!
Jackson Miller made a HUGE misstep endorsing Herrity in a career, until now, has been fairly flawless. I hope he can recover from this fledgling misstep and get back in tune with what his constituents are feeling. Illegal immigration is a hotbed issue still in this area and yesterday’s results undoubtedly confirm that. Anyone who believes that Herrity’s negative comments on the PWC resolution and his silence on the Centreville day laborer center didn’t cause his loss yesterday are not being honest to themselves. Herrity is a good guy but people yearn to return to conservative ways and put an end to socialism and perpetual bailouts for banksters and corporate sharks. Like I said before, I would rather Connolly keep his job than send yet another RINO to DC.
cdubbs, I got those robocalls also. My first reaction was him actually saying something like this–
“I know you told me not to buy that new Cadillac, but my new friends told me to. Well, to show you that I am now listening to you, I decided not to buy that stick of gum last week.”
Every move Connelly made needs to be recorded and play it over and over.
He has done nothing for the People except spend money and endorse everything that
Obama wanted.More facts should be out on the Health Care Bill that should also help.
Most of the Doctors I talk to,do not like the new Bill. Many of them will not take Medicare now ,so there goes Medicaid.
Connelly gave over a million dollars,in subsidy money to his favorite Demo. Frank Principi, for Franks personal Health Care business. It was falling on it’s face last year.
They say more is coming,so I guess Connelly will continue to hand out money.
It should be going to the Free Clinics. Not to boost a private business.
Since the Tea Party didn’t get their candidate in the primary, here’s hoping they will back Keith Finamin in Nov.
All should get behind Keith now and lets show Connelly and the rest that we know a good candidate.
This is the delusional CON-nelly email letter I received within the last week, his latest CON job. Perhaps after November 2, he’ll realize I’m not his “friend”.
“Dear Friend,
Just as Northern Virginians are tightening their belts in this tough economy, Washington must also buckle down and take serious steps to stop wasteful spending and rein in the deficit that has been building since 2001.
Just before Memorial Day, I broke with my party and voted against a $115 billion spending bill on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives because it would add $31 billion to the national deficit.
It was not easy to cast a NO vote on H.R. 4213 since there were worthwhile and important provisions in the legislation that I support. Despite pressure from House leadership and the White House to support the spending bill, I did not believe it was responsible to pass an additional $115 billion in spending at this time.
Last year, Congress passed the PAYGO law, which requires that all spending included in bills brought before the House and Senate be paid for or offset by comparable cuts to make them deficit neutral unless they are declared to be emergency legislation. Congress must now act within the parameters set by that important legislation enforcing fiscal responsibility.
We need to strike a balance between fueling our economic recovery and exercising substantive fiscal responsibility. That’s why I voted last December against a $154 billion spending bill that was not paid for, and voted twice - first in 2009 and again in April of this year — to deny automatic annual pay raises to members of Congress. Quite frankly, Congress should be finding ways to save your tax dollars and reduce wasteful spending, rather than trying to give itself a pay raise.
The national economic indicators are showing that the investments we’ve put in place to reverse the economic meltdown of 2008 are beginning to work:
•USA Today reported that Americans in 2009 paid their lowest level of taxes since 1950 thanks to tax cuts I supported that reduced taxes for 95 percent of Northern Virginians;
•Manufacturing activity increased for the ninth straight month, at the fastest rate in nearly six years;
•Our Gross Domestic Product grew for the third straight quarter;
•Consumer spending was up for the sixth straight month, surpassing pre-recession levels;
•And the economy added 573,000 jobs in the last four months - 291,000 of them in April — with 84 percent of the jobs in the private sector.
We are not out of the woods yet, but many of our actions designed to spur economic growth are still working. We should let these programs play out instead of passing new spending bills, no matter how worthwhile they may be, that will add to the deficit and increase the national debt.
We must practice fiscal responsibility and I intend to continue doing that as your Representative.
Sincerely,
Gerald E. Connolly
Member of Congress
11th District of Virginia”
Connelly is a turd. So, some of you validate using underhanded “connelly” theatrics by a republican against another republican? Two wrongs never make a right. I cannot back either of these ewo scumbags. I had wished that Fimian would take the high road. He did not.
@ youthink? : perhaps, but to rights often do many a wrong (decision, policy, social movement…)
Has anyone seen this yet?

It is a perfect example of our representation.
You think we can get the Herrity volunteers back out to remove his signs from our streets? The volunteers always have time to put the signs up before an election, but never seem to have the time to take them down after they lose.
