Driving liberals, dhimmis and illegal alien apologists absolutely insane since 2005...

Just Shut Up

Although the gentle lady in this video is from Milwaukee, she pretty much demonstrates the usual depth of understanding on the issue of illegal immigration typical of liberals everywhere.  Nothing has brought out such stunning displays of incompetence and ignorance as the left’s blathering about Arizona’s SB 1070, a law that they haven’t read, don’t understand, yet feel compelled to pontificate upon ad nauseum.

Here’s her quote justifying a boycott of AZ by Milwaukee County (she is a county supervisor): “If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding the borders, I would have to look twice at this. But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border.”

So this means she’s now ok with Arizona’s law since, lo and behold, Arizona is also “directly on the border with Mexico”? She claims Mexican and Hispanic heritage but doesn’t know what borders Mexico. You’d think maybe one of her 3 daughters would have known to tell her. No mention of a husband in her bio–shocking if she isn’t married. A match for Frey? I wonder if she’s ever been to Mexico.

No more worse then obama appointing a person to head an ICE department that is in favor of sanctuary Cities and is against local law enforcement helping out with immigration enforcement.

I’ve got the story on my blog.

The Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) goes on to state, “Encouraging and Harboring Illegal Aliens - It is a violation of law for any person to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection in any place, including any building or means of transportation, any alien who is in the United States in violation of law. HARBORING MEANS ANY CONDUCT THAT TENDS TO SUBSTANTIALLY FACILITATE AN ALIEN TO REMAIN IN THE U.S. ILLEGALLY. The sheltering need not be clandestine, and harboring covers aliens arrested outdoors, as well as in a building. This provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally but has since lost his legal status.

Thus if you rent or sell or grant employment to an illegal you are in violation of the law. Plain and simple, what part of illegal do they not understand?

And I totally agree with citizenofmanassas, the prez has shown his true colors once again!

The failure of the efforts to get a handle on illegal aliens, whether it’s the PWC Resolution, the new Arizona law or any of the others, is because these measures do not address the root cause of the problem, which is businesses creating a market for cheap, illegal labor. The illegal alien situation is very much akin to drug smuggling. We have countless laws on the books against drug smuggling, sales and use, and hundreds of thousands of people in prison for violating those laws. Nonetheless, there is a strong and growing market for illegal drugs as people continue to use them.

The same holds true for illegal aliens. No one is willing to enforce the laws that VA_Magoo cited and others against businesses that employ illegal aliens. There is simply too much money at stake, and too little chance of suffering any consequences. Corey’s new proposal contains some good ideas but even if passed in Virginia in its entirely would have no noticeable impact on the problem.

Enforcing laws against hiring illegal aliens would have much more impact, I believe, than do anti-drug laws. If business owners and managers knew that they would actually lose their business license, pay high fines, or go to prison, I think that the market for illegal labor would dry up almost overnight and with it all of the problems caused by illegal immigration.

However, what politician has the spine to stand up to their campaign contributors and the Chamber of Commerce to do something that would really make a difference?

Well, if you want to find one such “business,” look in Friday Washington Post, whihc describes the murder of an illegal immigrant named Manuel Sanchez near Benning Road. Speaking of his employer, the Post says that:

“Then a little over a year ago, well into sobriety, he (Sanchez) was introduced to (Rafel) Canela, a Dominican-born contractor who acknowledges employing illegal immigrants, saying, “I do it for my Hispanic community.”

A U.S. citizen of three decades, Canela, 49, works for real estate brokers, rehabbing residential foreclosures and keeping them tidy until they’re sold.

“He had a good mechanical aptitude,” Canela said of Sanchez, who left school in the third grade to help in the fields. “I would teach him to do electrical, and he’d pick right up on it. Very easy to train. I showed him how to solder pipes, fix leaks. In 30 minutes, he got it.”

    Canela paid him $13 an hour, usually $600 a week tax-free. ”

So we now have a specific individual name for the problem…

hazegray - good example. Multiply that times all of the developers, contractors, etc. and you start to get a better appreciation for the magnitude of the problem. Canela should be in prison right now, along with most of the area developers and a good many of the donors to the campaigns of members of our BOCS. Maybe those members of the BOCS should be sharing a cell with them for taking their money but not taking effective measures to deal with illegal immigration/employment?

Also, look at the work cited in the article hazegray quoted - electrical, mechanical, soldering, fix pipes (plumbing). Are these the jobs that Americans won’t take? These are all skilled trades that used to require formal training and licensing to protect consumers. They paid wages and benefits that supported Americans and their families.

How can an American support their family on $600 a week? I suppose also that since Canela said “I do it for my Hispanic community” it’s OK not to pay the taxes?

Are you willing to pay a little more to have this work done by trained, licensed Americans and legal residents, and pay a little more for produce and to eat out so we can enforce our labor laws and put Americans back to work? I am.

If you count Americans working part-time who want full-time jobs, those who want to work but have had no success finding a job and their unemployment has run out, along with the official nearly 10% unemployed, the real unemployment rate is over 15% and approaching 20%. This is a travesty.

Come on all polticians who are claiming to want to stop illegal immigration. Crack down on these employers, destroy the market for cheap illegal labor, and put Americans back to work! I can’t take seriously any politician who won’t do that.

We already have a state website listing convicted sex offenders.

IMHO, we ought to have a similar website listing those who have been known (and this positive identification is the hardest part) to hire illegal immigrants. Want to stop that hiring behavior? Walk up to someone who does this in church on Sunday and say “Joe, I read on the Web that you have been convicted of hiring illegal immigrants; why?,” and be sure his wife is within earshot. Park a car out front of his home with a big sign reading “Joe hires illegals”…and do it when you’re sure the neighbors are home or he’s having a family reunion. Show up at Joe’s sons graduation, politiely but civilly carrying a sign that says “Joe cheats American workers.” As a minimum, you’d chase many of these employers into seclusion, cause them to think again about their actions, and cause others who might also consider hiring illegals to perhaps reconsider their decisions. You may argue this is cruel, but then so is taking someone’s livelihood from them, and you aren’t threatening anyone.

Right now there are no public consequences for hurting your fellow citizens, and that veil of silence is a large part of what allows all this to continue…

BTW, Help Save Maryland does an excellent job of publicizing and demonstrating without being beligerent or abusive….

I wonder why Bush tried to hide the mass exodus of people leaving Mexico to take jobs that Americans “wouldn’t take”.

When he offered all of the illegals legal status back in 2004, more than 16 million crossed the border the year after his offer. In addition to that he actively suppressed evidence of them coming over here.

So, see folks. All of the ranting and raving about lefties and righties makes no difference in the world. Our elected officials do not have the best interest of the American people in mind.

Did you really think your vote counts when it comes to power, money and control? Do you think they are really going to leave those matters up to the little people? The only thing that matters to an elected official is that you work your butt off and pay your taxes so they can make a profit.

Now, I bet this post doesn’t last long on this site. Blind Faith will get you nowhere, but glaring truth will lead us all to victory.

hazegray - I agree with you 100%. However, many of these employers are not just small business local people you might see in church. Many are large developers who do not even live in our community. Also, they are large food service and retailing businesses. The social pressure you mention would likely have some impact on local people, but not on these large businesses. The only thing that will work for them is enforcement of our labor laws and significant penalties for violations.

I remember a story one member of the PWC Republican Committee told one year from working at the Committee’s booth at the PWC Fair. An African-American father came up to the booth saying that he was becoming a Republican. His reason was that his teenager could not get a summer job at Burger King because the illegal aliens would work cheaper.

If we fix this problem, we will have to pay a few more cents for a Whopper Meal. That’s fine with me.

As I wrote earlier, however, these are the businesses that write big campaign finance checks. Where’s the politician willing to act ethically, enforce labor laws and forego this ill-gotten lucre?

$600 a week cash is around $50k a year if you pay taxes. factor in when they get sick they just go to emergency room and not pay, they actually would make fmore than the average american. How can you feel sad for someone making nearly twice the minimum wage and not having to pay taxes!?
