Fernandez sez...

"It is the responsibility of the city of Manassas,
Va. to guarantee our freedom of speech and safety throwout(sic) this event,” Fernandez wrote in the letter. “The purpose of this march is to express our guaranteed constitutional rights as Native Americans, and we are looking for our opinions to be heard.”

I would recommend Fernandez to contact a Mr. Eric Holder, justice department big wig from down in D.C. as his request, based on what Mr. Holder has been saying recently, is tied into the constitution and there fore it is entirely a federal responsibility to guarantee Fernandez "rights".

I'm afraid about all the good citizens of Manassas might come up with for him is a ride out of town on a fence post.

I could be wrong but as that is not explicitly mentioned in the Constitution perhaps it could be accomplished without much federal interference.

Fernandez may want to SERIOUSLY rethink his choice of PR imagery....

Farrakhan Demands Reparations From Jews

Prominent anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan has sent a menacing letter to prominent Jewish leaders, in which he refers to

an undeniable record of Jewish anti-Black behavior, starting with the horror of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, plantation slavery, Jim Crow, sharecropping, the labor movement of the North and South, the unions and the misuse of our people that continues to this very moment.
Whatever can Jews do to appease black wrath in the face of these monstrous if imaginary sins? Cough up reparations — or as Calypso Louie puts it,

This is an offer asking you and the gentiles whom you influence to help me in the repair of my people from the damage that has been done by your ancestors to mine.
What if Jews don't feel guilty enough to comply?

[S]hould you choose to make our struggle to our people more difficult, then I respectfully warn you … that the more you fight and oppose me rather than help me to lift my people from their degraded state, Allah (God) and His Messiah will bring you and your people to disgrace and ruin and destroy your power and influence here and throughout the world.
As Morton Klein points out,

Louis Farrakhan's letter is not only vicious anti-Semitic nonsense but deliberately threatening. Basically, he is saying that unless American Jews cooperate with whatever scheme of "helping" his movement that he may have in mind, Jews everywhere will be endangered. This is a veiled call for violence against Jews. As such, it deserves to be repudiated and condemned. Who better … to do that than a black president who has spoken about healing racial divides, including that between Jews and African-Americans, and reducing the anti-Semitism that comes from some sectors of the African-American community?
Here's why Obama is not such a good choice: he and Farrakhan are two peas in a pod, closely linked by Obama's spiritual mentors over a period of decades, Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger. Obama helped organize Farrakhan's ballyhooed Million Man March spectacle. He also shares Farrakhan's religion. The noxious blend of black supremacism and collectivist authoritarianism known as Black Liberation Theology is adorned with Protestant trappings by Wright, Catholic trappings by Pfleger, and Muslim/fascist trappings by Farrakhan, but it is all one ideology. This is why Farrakhan called Obama "the Messiah," and why Wright's church granted Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award.

“some” find offensive?"

The First Amendment does NOT exclude being "offensive". It protects speech. Like the leader of the New Black Panthers who advocates killing crackers and white babies - PROTECTED - just like someone saying that all babies should be cuddled and loved. The First Amendment makes no distinction. Doesn't matter if we all agree or all disagree with the speech.

And the city will likewise treat the pro-life crowd with such great accomodation? Waiving fees, letting them march whereever they want in the city with pics and signs of aborted babies that "some" find offensive? Seems like different rules for different folks, guess justice isn't blind after all.

Anonymous,

Home invasions, were there car jackings also? Of course, nothing like this ever occurs here.

Spanish Civil War - 1936-39:
Once read some writings by a Republican (Spanish Opposition to the Generalissimo) that mentioned how severe and harsh the Nationalists of the Generalissimo treated the Republican, but as severe and harsh as it was, it did not measure up to the more harsh and severe treatment meted out by the Republicans against the Nationalists.

Ah, yes, freedom. The freedom to walk down the street without being mugged, the freedom from fear of your home being invaded. And should you have the guts to stand up against home/property invaders and thwart them by using force - in self defense, you will be arrested - arrest is guaranteed if the invaders are illegals - and then thrown in jail. In this case, what most likely will transpire next is that the left wing Hate Groups like the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Legal Center will provide legal services to these two parasitic pieces of Waste Matter. Of course, the tax payers will be billed exorbitant fees for these legal services.

To anyone who is Jewish seeing the gold star with jude written inside goes beyond insult, since it was a death sentence to over 6 million in nazi death camps during WWII. My Father- in- Law who is a survivor of auschwitz - buchenwald would wonder how is there a connection. There is none. Definitely insensitive.

Anonymous,

Spain had a great, great leader -

I refer, of course, to the “Our regime is based on bayonets and blood, not hypocritical elections” - Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teódulo Franco Bahamonde, by name El Caudillo (“The Leader”).

Note that since his death in 1975, Spain has declined. Or using slang - Gone to H*ll.

Cynic, you are absolutely correct with your above statement. I happened to live in Spain during the last weeks of Franco's life and a number of years after his demise. Crime in Spain during Franco's regime was virtually non-existant. People knew the consequences of getting caught and spending time in a Spanish Prison. When King Juan Carlos was put on the throne, he touted "democracy" and then violent crime went "through the roof." Home invasions in daylight hours escallated and robberies and muggings were common. There is something to be said of a "dictatorship".....low crime rates.

The church that I belong to has a food bank that is run from the church and we have recently planted a garden to supply fresh vegetables to the food bank. No coverage on that - also minimal coverage on the event that was done in May (I believe) when multiple local groups came in from across the East Coast to clean up GTS because their residents couldn't be bothered. Same thing when HSM would go and clean graffiti in order to keep neighborhoods and parks clean - zero coverage.

The paper is a joke - the reporting is consistently wrong (names, dates, locations - always wrong). Half the time the information is reported incorrectly.

Freedom of speech is one thing - consistently calling leaders of the community racists, accusing them of ethnic cleansing and comparing them to Nazi's is not freedom of speech, it's slander.

Planned demonstration fizzles

Gaudencio Fernandez recently put some demands on city officials and then didn't show up for a demonstration he said he had scheduled for the Fourth of July.
Fernandez, who regularly runs up against city ordinances with the signs he places at his property at 9500 Liberty Street in Old Town, recently told city officials that he was going to stage a march through town on Independence Day.
In a letter dated June 29 and received at the city clerk's office on June 30, Fernandez said he planned for 600 to 900 people to join the march between noon and 3 p.m.
City ordinance requires that groups gathering in town provide a security plan for the event. The city suggests that groups purchase insurance since the city won't be held responsible if someone gets hurt.
Fernandez stated in the letter that he would have 20 people to provide security, but that his group didn't have the money to hire a professional security agency or buy insurance for the event.
"We demand the city of Manassas provide the security needed for this event to guaranty (sic) our safety and safety of others. It is the responsibility of the city of Manassas,
Va. to guarantee our freedom of speech and safety throwout(sic) this event," Fernandez wrote in the letter. "The purpose of this march is to express our guaranteed constitutional rights as Native Americans, and we are looking for our opinions to be heard."
In another letter dated the same day, Fernandez stated that he would also need a permit for a sound system so he could show the movie "9500 Liberty Street" at his property during an event that was to last between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
He said he also had music and speeches planned for the day.
"We will conform with the standards permitted by code on noise regulations," Fernandez wrote in the letter.
Manassas Police Chief, Douglas W. Keen, responded to Fernandez's June 30 letters on July 1, saying that the city would waive the $100 fee to review Fernandez's security plan.
Keen's letter went on to say that marching between noon and 3 p.m. wasn't feasible because of previously scheduled Independence Day celebrations, including evening fireworks, in Old Town Manassas.
Keen authorized the march between 8:30 a.m. and noon along Center Street, Grant Avenue, Liberty Street, Liberia Avenue and Centreville and Wellington roads.
In answer to a previous request dated May 16, Keen offered Fernandez opportunities to hold his march between 3 and 7 p.m. on July 3 or July 5.
Keen did not grant Fernandez's request for a sound system, saying that was at the discretion of the City Council.
Keen wrote to Fernandez that the council would meet only once before the requested demonstration date and that left no time for city staff or council members to review the request.
"Your permit request does not provide sufficient information for staff to recommend approval, nor does it propose any conditions to minimize the public detriment caused by such exceptions," Keen wrote in the letter.
Keen also denied Fernandez's petition because there wouldn't be parking for 600 to 900 people given the crowds expected for the Fourth of July celebrations.
In the end, Fernandez and the demonstrators never showed up, said City Manager Lawrence D. Hughes.
The cost to have police officers man the intersections where the demonstrators would march hadn't yet been calculated, Hughes said.
"We spent a lot of time and had a lot of extra resources committed to being prepared and then nothing happened," Hughes said. "We spent a lot of time preparing for what he said he was going to do."
Fernandez said he couldn't reorganize the march during the hours Keen allowed.
"Mainly I was unable to comply with all of those requirements," Fernandez said.
Senior Reporter Keith Walker can be reached at 703-369-6751.

“We demand the city of Manassas provide the security needed for this event to guaranty (sic) our safety and safety of others. It is the responsibility of the city of Manassas,
Va. to guarantee our freedom of speech and safety throwout(sic) this event,” Fernandez wrote in the letter. “The purpose of this march is to express our guaranteed constitutional rights as Native Americans, and we are looking for our opinions to be heard.”
In another letter dated the same day, Fernandez stated that he would also need a permit for a sound system so he could show the movie “9500 Liberty Street” at his property during an event that was to last between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
He said he also had music and speeches planned for the day.
“We will conform with the standards permitted by code on noise regulations,” Fernandez wrote in the letter.
Manassas Police Chief, Douglas W. Keen, responded to Fernandez’s June 30 letters on July 1, saying that the city would waive the $100 fee to review Fernandez’s security plan.
Keen’s letter went on to say that marching between noon and 3 p.m. wasn’t feasible because of previously scheduled Independence Day celebrations, including evening fireworks, in Old Town Manassas.
Keen did not grant Fernandez’s request for a sound system, saying that was at the discretion of the City Council.
Keen wrote to Fernandez that the council would meet only once before the requested demonstration date and that left no time for city staff or council members to review the request.
“Your permit request does not provide sufficient information for staff to recommend approval, nor does it propose any conditions to minimize the public detriment caused by such exceptions,” Keen wrote in the letter.
Keen also denied Fernandez’s petition because there wouldn’t be parking for 600 to 900 people given the crowds expected for the Fourth of July celebrations.
In the end, Fernandez and the demonstrators never showed up, said City Manager Lawrence D. Hughes.
The cost to have police officers man the intersections where the demonstrators would march hadn’t yet been calculated, Hughes said.
“We spent a lot of time and had a lot of extra resources committed to being prepared and then nothing happened,” Hughes said. “We spent a lot of time preparing for what he said he was going to do.”
Fernandez said he couldn’t reorganize the march during the hours Keen allowed.
“Mainly I was unable to comply with all of those requirements,” Fernandez said.

Well I see Fernandez is busy making plans and the City is busy trying to accomodate him.? Don't these people understand that all GFernandez is doing is to waste their time.
Someone from the City needs to get out there and site Fernandez for his large despectible signs. Also the gathering on a property with out proper permits.
None of these people realyy want to a part of OUR country, they want to take over and do and live like they did in their home Countries. Then let them go back,we do not need this crap going on here.
There's a way of doing the right thing and this is not it.

It is interesting that the local rag gives them publicity but never writes about the good things in our County or covers the school plays or games that our children do all year long.

Time for a real local paper?

Anonymous,

Spain had a great, great leader -

I refer, of course, to the "Our regime is based on bayonets and blood, not hypocritical elections" - Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teódulo Franco Bahamonde, by name El Caudillo (“The Leader”).

Note that since his death in 1975, Spain has declined. Or using slang - Gone to H*ll.

Wonder what the Law is with Fernandez handing out Food on his lot? Does he have to have a Permit? License?Hope someone calls Manassas. What a mess! And dear Alveraze is right there to get all the free food for her and her family of seven.
Does she work outside the home earning money?Maybe she's to busy at home with all the family to take of and can't go to work.
Must be nice to swoop down on the free stuff.
Must think everything is free here.

I also think Katherine and her voice on immigrants is again saying the wrong thing. It is not immigrants that all the people are concerned about,It's the Illegal Aliens.
No one asked them to come here. It is breaking the Law to cross the Border,so they are Illegal and breaking the Law. Nothing will change that,it will always be part of History that they broke the Laws.

“I reach everybody. I don't just reach Spanish people. I go to all communities and pass out these fliers and invite everybody. Everybody is welcome to come,” he said.

I love that. Spanish people. Just how many Spaniards do you suppose are showing up for a food bank handout?

My Mexican neighbor, whose kids had announced their nationality months earlier, tried that "I am Spanish" crap on me once.

I said "Really? You are Spanish? How Fascinating! Which, if I may ask, part of Spain do you come from ... Madrid? Valencia? Seville? Some of my distant ancestors came from Galician and Catalonia! I love Spain...been there twice....

He stared at me for a moment or so, just long enough for the gears in his brain to unlock and back peddle away from "oh crud, I just self identified as a dread European and not an indigenous native American "

For a matter of information I came across this.MANASSAS, Va.—Alejandra Alvarez said free food deliveries from the Capital Area Food Bank help her feed her family of seven.

"They help a lot because groceries are expensive," Alvarez said Wednesday when she picked up bagels and fruit at 9500 Liberty St. in Manassas.

Local activist Gaudencio Fernandez works with the Washington-based charity to bring food to his property at the intersection of Liberty and Prince William streets, and then he gives it away.

Fernandez gets the food every two weeks, and participation seems to be growing.

"The first time we got 85 families. The second time we got 92," said Fernandez, who first gained attention across the region a couple of years ago for placing several oversized signs on his property that protested Prince William County's illegal-immigration resolution.

Since then, Fernandez has clashed with city officials over other protest signs he's placed on his property that have run afoul of city ordinances.

But, business was brisk Wednesday as people picked up food during the third giveaway Fernandez arranged.

To facilitate a quick food delivery of perishable items, Fernandez takes down names and numbers of the people who visit his impromptu operation.

The food bank doesn't necessarily get food for the Manassas area on a given day, Fernandez said, and delivery isn't predictable.

"We might get it on Wednesday. We might get it on Thursday," he said.

Another way Fernandez said he gets the word out is by going to area neighborhoods and handing out fliers telling people to show up at Liberty Street.

Food available at a given time could include watermelons, apples, bread, cake, and milk, depending on what the food bank has in stock when Fernandez is ready for delivery

"I reach everybody. I don't just reach Spanish people. I go to all communities and pass out these fliers and invite everybody. Everybody is welcome to come," he said.

Alvarez said she is thankful that Fernandez organizes the food drop-off.

"I appreciate that they come and help," she said. "We like this kind of stuff."

Well it's interesting that Fernandez is taking advantage of our Countrys Freedom of Speech. You sure could not do that in your home country and many other countries.

How can someone who acts like this, thinks they would ever have the respect of the people of this United States? People like this is showing what they are and you can tell that by many more letters and opinions being put in the paper.

Hughes better get out there and put a notice with an immediate LARGE FINE,as after all they know it is not allowed.

It is time to have all of our Laws enforced by the Police and I mean all of them. We have let this go on for too long now and it will not get any better.Next thing you know we won't have a Police Dept. that can keep the peace.

If anyont thinks it is getting better, then go out and look around and open your eyes.

Seems the News and messenger has alot of Far Left Liberals and report with their heads in the sand. To Bad as they won't last long at this rate.
