By Greg L | 14 August 2010 | National Politics | 11 Comments

The Socialist Party of America has revealed the names of the seventy members of Congress who are members of the “Democratic Socialists of America,” a list which includes the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.  Although members on this list aren’t particularly surprising (Barney Frank and Maxine Waters, for example), that there are more “Democratic Socialists” in Congress than there are members of the Tea Party Caucus is pretty alarming.

Does this surprise anyone? Comrad Obama Et Al has turned this into “The Socialist
Republic of the United States of America” It breaks my heart because we all watched it happen and so far nothing has been done to change it. I love my country and I will fight to the end to bring it back, but it will take a lot of work and people to put their money where their mouth is and people to get out to vote to bring us back to our former glory. That includes not apologizing for our actions and our greatness.

If you look at the bottom of the PDF file found on the on Scribd.com after “Fair Use” are links to the Congressional Progressive Caucus’ website found at http://cpc.grijalva.house.gov, which has the exact listing of names as in the list above under its “Caucus Members” tab, and tysknews.com, which has the exact same quoted questions cited above. tysknews.com comes across as a very conservative voice. Nowhere in any of the socialist websites mentioned did I find this membership list. I think it is very curious that the questions first appear on a conservative website that copies names from a house.gov website. I can’t find a direct link to the October 2009 newsletter on any site other that Scribd.com, which has had some copyright issues in the past. My Bravo Sierra detector is going off!

No, it is not the exact same listing of members. Quite understandably there are more in the “progressive caucus”, and none of the “progressive caucus” members from Virginia are members of the Democratic Socialists Of America, as reported, as well.

Glad to see you’re digging to verify the information you’re getting, but this DSA list is different from the “progressive caucus.”

Social Redistribution. Social redistribution–the shift of wealth and resources from the rich to the rest of society–will require:

massive redistribution of income from corporations and the wealthy to wage earners and the poor and the public sector, in order to provide the main source of new funds for social programs, income maintenance and infrastructure rehabilitation, and
a massive shift of public resources from the military (the main user of existing discretionary funds) to civilian uses.

This is the crux of the socialist movement - taken directly from their website. Socialism is a miserable myth with its promise of equality but at the cost of freedom, choice and any chance to paid for talents of the individual and reward those who fail to perform or excel. When all are “equal” why try to do better or get further ahead - no reason to do anything extra. Ain’t bein’ equal just great?

With no military you are ripe for attack. If you take the money away from your defense, you are defenseless. Now who is so stupid to dream this stuff up?

The lists are*virtually* the same though Jim Moran is not on the socialist list, granted. The Tea Party Caucus is some kind of oxymoron, which is why the numbers are few(er). “Progressives,” of course, are just morons. Caucuses (or cauci) are “clubs” formed to consolidate power.

Greg, good catch! However, and more to the point, I am questioning the association of the CPC list to a socialist membership list, since none of the socialist websites actually contain the list of names. The combination of the socialist propaganda to the list of names first appears on the Scribd.com website, which is of dubious character. I suspect the PDF “Newsletter” is contrived and the claim is bogus. To one as far to the right as yourself, however, they may seem socialist, but there isn’t any verifiable proof other than to claim that that they are Progressives.

Is Donald Segretti still alive? His spirit certainly is!

This list should be in the Times and other papers who would publish it.

The modern push for the socialist takeover of the American Congress and the U.S. Government in general can be traced back to the early 1900’s.

“…we shall use our grant-making power so to alter life in the United States that it can be comfortably merged with the Soviet Union.”
    http://www.realityzone.com/hiddenagenda2.html

Until 1999, the Progressive Caucus website was hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America. After the press reported on this link, the connections suddenly vanished from both organizations’ websites.

Congress is full of representatives who campaign on the promise that they
will enact programs that take money from those who have it and redistribute it to those who need it. This is pure socialism.

    the Congressional Progressive Caucus

“…a more progressive tax system in which wealthy taxpayers and corporations contribute their fair share, and a substantial increase in social programs designed to meet the needs of low-and-middle-income American families.

Social and Economic Rights for All

…we could recreate the economy and society that
existed between 1947 and 1973 when marginal tax rates
on the wealthy and excess profits taxes on corporations
ranged between 50 percent and 90 percent.

This about sums it all up…

    Maxine Waters replied:
“And guess what this liberal will be all about? This liberal will be about socializing –
would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your
    companies.”

Now we know who to put on trial once we take control. Yes, socialism is demonstrably anti-American and should be a crime since at its heart it is unconstitutional.

    Greg,

I don’t know if you’ll see this comment, since it’s been over two weeks since the original post — however, two members of Congress from the list above resigned earlier this year — Neil Abercrombie resigned in Februay to run for Governor of Hawaii (he was replaced in a May special election with Republican Charles K. Djou) and Robert Wexler resigned in January to become President of the Center for Middle East Peace & Economic Cooperation.
