Have you seen the job description for the Deputy Director of Recreation position? It pays $55k to 88K. Too bad they insist on having a number 2 for an incompetent director. If you would just get rid of this position– you could hire two people to do the work for one and still save money. This way you have two people that will decrease the work load, be able to hire two people, and less likely to burn out. But, you can’t hire two when you’re having a hiring freeze. And it’s easier to have one person to stay quite and cover up your dirty laundry. It’s harder to muzzle two people. Good luck getting someone to work and stay working for you.

To truthtalker: The director is very upset that the assisant director is leaving. the assisant director knows that nothing will every change and that the city and the rec center is doomed. The assistant director is finally get some time with her family which she has been pushing aside.

Still no word for me on any job being open. Guess nobody who had been layed off in March will hear anything this time either. Way to go make it easier on all of us who were layed off to make it easy at the lawyers office. Anyone with info of an attorney we can all see together? If not guess I will have to go out on my own.

I just wish the Director of Parks and Recreation and her best friend, the Assistant Director, got the hint and understand they don’t know how to do their jobs and quit too. Maybe you can actually turn a profit on the building if you didn’t have people sitting around all day–including you two.

wow I see the Public works director is now jumping ship. MP has a posting with a salary of $83k. That job can’t pay thta much money. What in the world does that person do to get that salary. The one who has it now does little so that make sense. So we are going to get someone for $83k to watch over a city that can’t watch it’s speending and “Pathetic of MP” can’t get the crown jewel of dog poo up and running. What a sad day for MP residents.

How many MP upper have or is jumping ship.

WOW look at the money we are going to save if we don’t fill those positions. maybe the park can pay its bills on time now instead of holding off till they have the money.

Hey mayor I hear that the fall festival will be held at city hall again this year. I bet that everyone who is going to attend will be seeing how empty the retail space at your crown jewel of dog poo (city center). It is nice that you are showing how pathetic you and the city council are. You can’t even get one retailer in that place. I laugh and tell all my friends to drive by and see how empty the dog poo really is.

Give it up mayor you can’t manage this city anymore just step down along with the rest of the city council and let some else run the show. Everyone of you has made MP the laughing stock of Northern VA.

High Taxes on residents. No Fortune 100 company will never setup shop here. You can only get “ma & pa” businesses.

Everyone drive through the city but only stop at either a stop sign or a stop light. No one want to shop or live here.

Your west side needs help and you turn a blind eye to them. They are the ones who built the city not the east side.

The director and assistant director of the re center can’t manage no one and the place is a joke.

You have people at city hall that rather talk all day instead of working but they don’t get fired.

Your treasurer take more time off than Obama.

Hey mayor do you really have a handle on the city? You are so pathetic I can’t even call you mayor. You don’t deserve the title of mayor. You new tiltle will be ‘Pathetic of MP”.

Hey Otruthful1 are you think the water department person left knowing what is coming and found a job before she got axed? That will only save MP about $35K not enough to make payroll for the next two pay cycles. MP needs to layoff more people in order to pay for everything.

Well well well, word travels fast! Just more into for those of you who were layed off the first time. There is a person who has left the city from the water department so there is an opening at city hall. I wonder if they will call any of you who were layed off. I doubt it, but guess what there will be lay offs again in the city before long and would you really want to come back?

Truthtalker - The fact of the matter is that it was stated in a letter I received at the time of my lay off. I would be notified and given priority if a position I was qualified for opened. I have never even gotten a call PT or not. I want to get the attorney information from anyone who can and will give it so I can also talk to them. A group instead of just one of us will be a stronger force. I am tired of being a door mat for the city, I did it for long enough when I worked there and now to still be stomped on by them after the lay off. NO LONGER!!

Hey truthtalker I hope you are commenting from a computer that is not at work. I am sorry that the Director and Assistant director can’t even manage the P&R. They are to busy with their own problems and don’t want to be bothered with P&R issues. I hear the front desk still can’t act accordingly and they rather sit and talk to each other than to say hello or even give a friendly smile. It is sad that the Director stated that P&R would fund itself but has failed to do so. Maybe the Director and assistant director should step down for failing to keep that promise. That would never happen since the assistant director is married to the vice mayor. She would never be fired from MP. Makes you wonder how in the heck the city is still in business.

I also just love how so much traffic infront of the city center over the weekend I can see why a business would like to be there. NOT!!!!

Give it up mayor you are a failure to the city and you should resign along with every council member who voted for that empty retail space you call city center.

Time is on my side not yours mayor.

TICK TOCK time and money is running out.
