Did anyone hear about the guy at the Sonic Super Wash in Woodbridge....

Yes, jm... TV news reported that the owner of car wash claimed that the I. D. documents the illegal presented when applying for the job "appeared to be legit".

This seems to be a problem nation wide. Clearly his I. D. documents were not "legit"...either false, stolen, borrowed or forged ...but as long as they superficially appear to be "legit", a business owner runs the risk of being slammed for employee discrimination if they try to check for validity.

The PWC Rule of Law gets credit for reducing the number of illegals in Virginia. From the Washington Post:

Virginia, Florida and Nevada were among the states with the steepest declines in their populations of illegal immigrants. Large declines in illegal immigrants in Florida and Nevada were probably because of the housing crisis and the loss of thousands of construction jobs, which immigrants often fill, experts said. Florida's illegal immigrant population fell by 375,000, to an estimated 675,000, between 2008 and 2009, and Nevada's decreased by 50,000 to an estimated 180,000 during that period.
ad_icon

The number in Virginia fell by 65,000, to 240,000, a decline that Jeffrey Passel, an author of the report, attributed to the economy as well as to stricter legislation passed in Prince William County in 2007 and 2008.

Although the report's authors did not have information about population decreases at the county level, a 2009 University of Virginia study of the legislation's effect on Prince William showed a decline in the number of children enrolled in ESOL classes and in the number of uninsured mothers giving birth, both suggestive of the presence of recent and poor immigrants, said Audrey Singer, who specializes in immigration at the Brookings Institution.

Corey A. Stewart, chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and a champion of the legislation, said he was "proud" of the county's role in decreasing the illegal immigrant population. "Our resolution on illegal immigration resulted in thousands of illegal aliens leaving Prince William," said Stewart, who has called for Virginia to adopt a law similar to Arizona's.

But Stewart (R-At Large) predicted that the declining numbers of illegal immigrants in Virginia would be temporary without stricter enforcement statewide. "They're just going to come back once the economy recovers," he said.

Principi's opponent? Stewart for Senate? One word - Redistricting.

Who will do what for elections - more so locally or General Assembly - most likely will stay up in the air until the whole thing gets sorted out.

The County is already on record for the Magisterial Districts of saying we'll just move the lines around to balance out the Districts - roughly 57,000 people in each. No money to establish a new one ($2million as I recall be said in the BOCS session). The lines will all be settled by next June on those Districts (hopefully), then it will be the "who can run against Principi".

The GA disticts for House and Senate are another story. One rumble is split up the 29th Senate and realign the others....and that is only one of many rumbles. Colgan not running is more the "sure bet", and the other thing is where the lines end up.

N&M had the piece yesterday on the Federal side of the issue. So "Stewart for Senate" would hang on if the choice is State or Federal run.

It will all be anyone's guess until the new lines and maps are made, I wager.

Thats what we need to know,Who's running against Principi????

Lennie, Don't worry about Stewart,he can take care of himself. The first thing to come up is Chair of the Board and I am sure Stewart will run for that, plus he has a Great chance of Winning.

There are all kinds of romors going on out there and most of them are not true. There are people that like to run a rumor as it stirs people up.This is nothing but confusion and it would be better to not think about it.

Plenty of time to seek out a good, deserving candidate.

Don't forget the business says he provided them with "what appeared to be a legitimate social security number and driver's license". Add identity fraud to the list of offenses, too. Of course, we'll hear over at the loonhowlings how he had no other choice since he was just trying to make a living, and they'll defend the identity theft as they've done many times in the past, saying he's paying into social security money that he'll never see. They always point to that as an example of how the illegals are benefiting the system....

Someone from moonhowlings will be running right over to post bail for the poor guy - he was just trying to make a living doing his job, blah blah blah.... They'll be saying how he has a family to support, and is just trying to make ends meet. Anyone who disagrees is obviously "anti-immigrant" as they like to say.

It says the Illegal will be in jail on a $6,000 bond. Wonder how many minutes it will take for some one to post his bond?

Perhaps some of our loving Americans that can't see any futher than the tip of their nose will come forth to spring him.

Jacobsen makes me sick in his stupid analysis of a Miss Universe Pagent and the realities of life.
He has been a kook all his life and only gets worse with the years.

Does anyone stop to think that with the symbol of the door screen, chair in the yard, they put a new meaning on what is their purpose? This is all part of taking over, changing our way of life and meaning of anything or everything we ever stood behind. Why would anyone want to cave into such nonsence? It's time we speak up
loud and clear, that people like Jacobson does not speak for us.

Did anyone hear about the guy at the Sonic Super Wash in Woodbridge who was driving a customer's Jeep out of the wash bay, hit two coworkers and a customer's car, then removed his shirt and ran away. You guessed it, illegal and no driver's license. I'll not be going to the new Sonic Wash in Manassas!

Anyone who doubts Moonhowlings political leanings only needs to look at the video they posted today. As 9500 Liberty proved, you can edit hours of film to tell any story you want. Once again, the Liberal Left demonstrated that they enjoy nothing more than ridiculing their fellow Americans. The name of the company that produced it, NEW LEFT MEDIA, says it all.

Don't leave out elena in your analysis of moonhowlings. She was quick to attack the conservative who objected to remarks made by a liberal concerning possible assassination of Obama by a Tea Party member. She also kept up her mantra of "where was the outrage ...." and listed her usual list of things she was outraged about Bush.

Oh...just saw this one at http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=600&sid=1949669. Your boy Cuccinelli lost the first round in his case regarding the UVa professor's alleged misuse of VA taxpayers funds in global warming studies. Why? Because he forgot to state in his complaint WHY HE WAS BRINGING A COMPLAINT AGAINST MR. MANN. A retired judge, no less, decided the case and said Cuccinelli "failed to spell out the nature of Mann's alleged wrongdoing". Its been a stellar week for Ken. First, he reads the existing code and says the state can regulate abortion clinics, then reads the existing code to find it's okay to have holiday displays on government property as long as everyone can do it their way, and now this. Add to it his righteous campaign to rid his stationary of Virtus' exposed boob and his taunting of college pro-gay groups. He's a legal genius!!

While all you conservative zealots are frantically searching for Obama's birth certificate, someone better check to see if Ken has a law degree. If this was a liberal, you guys would be tripping over yourselves, in a lather, to exclaim the woeful waste of our precious tax dollars. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Sarah Palin's VP nominee in 2012!!! Ohhhh Boyyeee!

While all you conservative zealots are frantically searching for Obama’s birth certificate, someone better check to see if Ken has a law degree. If this was a liberal, you guys would be tripping over yourselves, in a lather, to exclaim the woeful waste of our precious tax dollars. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Sarah Palin’s VP nominee in 2012!!! Ohhhh Boyyeee!

Don't forget the single house chair outside a door or sitting in a yard. That is a sign there is a room to rent as well.

Corey is a weasel just like most politicians. He isn't serious about doing anything about illegals. He just wants to get elected and will promise anything to make that happen. Then he may or may not go on some half-ass campaign to actually do what he said he would. The 2007 resolution is proof of that. A lot of good that fiasco did other than scare 75% of the illegals across the river for a year only to see them return when their apartment leases expired in Maryland 6-12 months later, only this time as renters. Once they figured out that they had a friend in Deane and that Corey was impotent to force his hand then they all yelled ARIBA! and returned as soon as they could, but not before leaving an EPIC mofo foreclosure disaster in their wake that we are still choking on.

moonhowling is a LIBERAL forum. Therefore it cannot be used for open debate. Just like 9500liberty they will block any comments they do not like. This is a common MO of socialists.

Allowing free and open speech takes guts. moon has none.

Citizen12 stated - "How those of us in suburbia got by without all this culture for so long is a true mystery."

Citizen 12 - That's just a great piece of accurate writing.

Cynic - the first and real one.

I’ll give the inhabitants of Mississippi a little more credit than most. For over 100 years it has been the American tradition to honor the true purpose of a screen door, which is to allow air to flow into, out of and through the dwelling AND keep the bugs outside. This is accomplished by leaving the screen door CLOSED. Not only do the people of Mississippi get this, the other North Americans do as well.

However, while the purpose of two doors seemed to elude many of our brothers and sisters from south of the border, their creative nature has yet indeed provided a new use for this "unnecessary" door. Rather than to follow the traditional practice of tearing off this obstruction on move in day, they have found it provides a means of advertising the spare rooms without the costly and unsightly yard sign.

Add this to the ever growing list of "cultural exchange" brought to our neighborhoods such as multi family living in a single family home, avoiding the unsightly trash can in favor of open storage of garbage on site, the home operated restaurant with pickup and delivery service, automotive stereo testing centers, all night pharmacy pickup and delivery, neighborhood dating service and let’s not forget the front yard block party/ family reunion.
