DHS: Cheaper to Deport All Illegal Aliens

By Greg L | 12 December 2010 | National Politics, Illegal Aliens | 22 Comments

Go figure.   Figures released by the Department of Homeland Security confirm that it would be cheaper to deport all the illegal aliens in the United States than to allow them to unlawfully remain here and drain public budgets to the tune of $113 Billion annually.

So, while it would cost a one-time fee of about $135 billion to deport every single illegal alien in the country, it is actually a bargain considering the fact that it already costs us $113 billion annually to keep them here.

In other words, the mass deportation would pay for itself in a little over a year.

Incidentally, in 2007, the DHS estimated the cost of deporting all illegal aliens to be approximately $94 billion.

History proves that we wouldn’t even have to deport all the illegal aliens.  Once they understand the law actually will be enforced, a vast majority voluntarily return home anyways.

Of course it’s cheaper. Those of us that look at the issue with common sense and without emotion have said that all along.

If we can deport them all we will have lots of used Honda’s to dispose of. I’m for rounding them up and moving them out!!!

How does one find “every single illegal alien”? (How about the married ones?

Dave in PWC - “rounding them up and moving them out”
Sounds easy, maybe, but how would YOU suggest it be done?

“but how would YOU suggest it be done?”

Based on the Honda reference, and I would add Nissan Sentra to that, profiling drivers would be an easy start.

I think you should let em take the Honda’s with them, Load em up and tie the bumpers together and give em a parade all the way to the boarder. We can save on bus fare.

    Tillie,

We could start by cracking down on the loitering at the Home Depots and 7-11’s as well as visiting construction sites and see who the builders are hiring. Then we could have ICE be around when the illegals “march for their rights” in our streets and round them up. We could also do a lot of DUI checkpoints in the county and when the illegals can’t produce a driver’s license we check to see what their immigration status is. That’s a start and when the word gets around they will self deport.

I do like the idea of a parade all the way to the border as well.

We could also arrest the illegals students who try and block our Federal legislators offices trying to get them to vote for the DREAM act. We could also investigate the families of people who kill nuns as well.

I marvel at the intentional sloppiness of some of these posts. I assume it is intended deliberately to be misleading. Am I wrong? Or is it just sloppiness? Why put something in quotation marks if it is not attributed? Did DHS say that it would be cheaper? No. But that’s the header.

Once you round up some of them, the rest self deport. Crack down on employers and take away their business licenses as well as mandate E-verify. It is actually quite simple.

Mass deportation ain’t gonna happen, and no rational American would want to put the country through the turmoil to make it happen, so why even post about it? This type of talk is just fodder for the Crazies. Enactment of constitutional laws, enforcement of laws already on the books, and enforcement of our borders are what we should be talking about on this issue.

I’m reminded of an old skit on SNL, “What if Spartacus had a Piper Cub.”

At one level or another and to varying degrees, we have been talking about this - ever since the Country was founded. We talk, talk, talk, but do very little - mostly nothing.

And, was not immigration even an issue during the time of the great Roman Empire. Like Alaric who sacked Rome in 410 AD. Alaric was just another illegal made legal who turned on those providing him with his legality! Happens all the time.

We would not need “mass” deportation, just get the system back up and running better than it was intended. Like most systems, it was not designed to correct decades of neglect, abuse and corruption.

Few changes would be needed to bring this into the 21st century and the sooner we get started the sooner we will be able to chart more realistic expectations than the ever popular “It is an impossible task” we continue to hear. This whole process is only as cumbersome and complex as we have allowed it to get.

But in reality, Blind Faith is just a rock band, not something you should have in government. All this is a rather moot point because for decades the people sit and wait for what will surely never come. Without federal action or the willingness of the States to act, the stalemate will continue. At what point will the citizens accept this fact and act accordingly?

    @ Robert

Cynic’s point is that everyone should grab a copy of Gibbon’s Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, find a hill, climb to the top and watch the sun go up an down. Right, Cynic?

Well, yes, as a By-Product. My point is that all this stuff is not new. Did not solve it in the past; will not solve it in the future. That’s because as a collective entity, the human race is one big, big failure. Adam should have never accepted that Apple!

    FYI.

According to Numbers USA, the Senate, led by Reid and Durbin, is going to bring up the Dream Act and try to sneak it through the Senate before this lame duck session adjourns - forever!

    @Cynic,

Last minute Christmas shopping by dems, for themselves. Nothing like finding 12 million or so new voters under the tree Christmas morning.

    DB,

Well, after they go to college, they should be able to read and write in English. Then, when they look over the various officer holders and candidates, they may not vote the way the ruling class wants them to vote!

Just hallucinating, am sure that the ruling class will rig things so that most of them vote for a democrat.

Prince William County Police have arrested five people they say were involved in attacks using machetes last week, apparently as part of a feud between two groups of teenagers.

    @Doug,

You mean “holiday” tree. Libs do not believe in using the word Christmas, one because most do not believe in God, and two, if they do, they are more worried about “offending” someone else who might be of a different religion. In other words, they have more respect and acceptance of another persons religion than they have for their own.

Liberals are without a question the worst thing to have ever happen to this Nation.
