PWC Schools Close Early

By Greg L | 16 December 2010 | Manassas Park, Manassas City, Prince William County | 10 Comments

UPDATE: PWCS Schools closed Friday.  What nonsense.

As if this will make any difference at all, PWCPS is closing school an hour early today due to the snow.  Another brilliant call by Dr. Walts.  Manassas City Schools are closing earlier: OHS & Metz at 12:30, Mayfield at 1:00 and elementary schools at 1:30. Manassas Park Schools are closing 2 hours early.

Updates below the fold…

OK, and now it gets even dumber:

From email header information, this was sent two hours after kids were released, held up by the PWCPS email system for the rest of the afternoon, and received after 8PM.  As a means of quickly communicating time sensitive information to patents about their children, this is an EPIC FAIL.

We are raising a generation of government dependent, helpless, cripples.

Unable to think for themselves, act for themselves or even take care of themselves.

They are being raised like drones. Too hot? No school. Too cold? No school. Too rainy? No school. Too windy? No school.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world teaches its children to survive.

    Guess who will succeed.

Oh, never mind. There are hordes of illegals to wash your clothes, wash your car, cut your grass, raise your offspring and wipe your asses.

All you have to do is show up to your government job and bitch that you are underpaid.

USA, I actually agree with your statement about the school situation. But, both my wife and I have been government workers all our lives, her a fed and me a local and we both enjoy our work, work hard for the people we represent and both are happy with our pay. I am tired of everyone treating government workers as if we are all lazy overpaid idiots. Everyone bitches about our pay and benefits, but you all had the same opportunity to apply for the same jobs we did. Every occupation in the world has both bad and good employees so please don’t lump us all together.

Do you happen to know a schoolbus driver? Why do you think schools are afraid of having school buses out on the roads when it’s snowing and ice forming on road beds?
Do you not believe that there’d be law suits against school districts, were an accident to happen due to inclement weather? The kid have no say in this.

Furthermore, most kids couldn’t get to school without buses. The distances are to great; lots of the suburbs have no sidewalks. Our kids would make it, given the chance. I don’t know where you live, but the kids in my neighbor hood are neither helpless nor cripples. Today two of them were out clearing my driveway after school - WITHOUT MY ASKING THEM! Government dependent? I suppose so, since most of them attend public school.

As for you statement about government workers - it’s evident that you don’t know what you’re talking about!

Fortunately crotchety old geezers like USA don’t get to be in charge. Just cuz he walked five miles to school, in the snow, both ways doesn’t mean we need to get anyone hurt just cuz some old fool USED to do it that way. If USA wants to know what today’s kids are capable of maybe we can load him up and ship him to Iraq or Afghanistan for some first hand experience.

The old fools made this country. And they didn’t do it by whining.

Yes, I had the opportunity to work for the government. Instead, I served in the USMC and then spent a lifetime working for a living.

You know, us old fools who bust ass, make things happen and then have our paychecks raped to pay useless drones.

Listen to the mewling of pampered government workers who don’t know how they will get by with no guaranteed raises every year, more paid holidays and benefits than any other occupation.

Then look at the legions of unemployed Americans who don’t have benefits, don’t have jobs and may not have a roof over their heads.

    Sickening. Truly sickening.

Some of the old fools who HELPED make this country seem to have become quite noisy whiners. Some seem bitter too.

USMC = gov’t worker and a LOT former military are gov’t workers. How far they have fallen. Sickening. Truly sickening.

I served as well but never felt it gave me the right to tell everyone else how much better I was than them.

USA, you aren’t one of those T-party people who support your own flavor of gov’t handout while wanting to deny everyone else…are you?
