Nightmare Amnesty Dies In U.S. Senate

By Greg L | 18 December 2010 | Illegal Aliens, US Senate | 11 Comments

The “DREAM Act” nightmare amnesty was killed in the U. S. Senate on a 55-41 vote this morning with Senators Webb and Warner voting the wrong way, yet again.  After ten years of resisting and defeating every amnesty pushed by both the Bush and Obama administrations the American people are poised with the new congress go over onto the offense next year, to finally and at long last secure our borders and end the scourge of illegal immigration.  It is long overdue.

Jim Webb ran on a promise that he would be a conservative, independent Democrat. His actions today demonstrate there simply is no such thing. We might as well have had Russ Feingold representing Virginia, for all the difference it would make. Webb and Warner must be held accountable for this and their consistent pattern of horrible votes that hurt American prosperity and undermine civil society when they are up for re-election. Since they blatantly and arrogantly ignore the will of the people at just about every opportunity, they should be strongly encouraged to find other careers where they’ll do less harm to the public.Republicans must nominate strong candidates to oppose Webb and Warner and these candidates must not be timid in expressing their opposition to amnesties which only encourage more and more illegal immigration into Virginia. We don’t need and will not support RINOs in the upcoming senatorial elections - we need tough minded Conservatives with the courage of their convictions. Not fakes, but the real thing.

Webb must be shown the door! The campaign begins today.

Despite today’s disappointing Senate vote, my administration will not give up on the DREAM Act, or on fixing our broken immigration system.

Oh Please, do not tell me these children do not know they are not legal. I am sure they see how their parents behave and duck the law when approached about certain things. This is just a ploy to get people to have sympathy for law breakers. How is this Dream act fair to those millions of people who have applied for citizenship and are doing all the right things waiting for their turn to enter this country? These kids have already had the benefits of citizenshp merely by being given an education and other opportunities that living in the US provides. It simply is NOT fair to US citizens for these parents of these children to rip off this country by taking what is not legally theirs. I am not heartless, but when our own citizens cannot get health care or education assistance, it is time to send these people back to their own country. This country is way to careless with its security and we will AGAIN reap the results in some horrific way one of these days. It is time for everyone to have identification and documention with them every time they are out in public. That may seem extreme but this is a much different world than it was before 911. The immigration bill now in existence was enacted to prevent the kind of problems we have now but the feds did not enforce it so what will this new Dream Act do? Not a thing, it will make all these illegals citizens and a new group of illegals will invade the US wishing to get amnesty also.

    Anon,

The more they act out, the more they turn the tide of support in our favor. Let them act like spoiled little kids all they want, their true identity will come out for all to see. And it won’t be for the good old U.S of A.

    Anon,
Yes those 8 month olds all know they are criminals. And those 5 year olds should all do the right thing and walk back to whatever country they were brought from by their parents, even if their parents choose to stay. You sound incredibly….uninformed.

The left is using children as a tool, just as they use the environment as a tool, race as a tool, gender as a tool, gay issues as a tool, food as a tool …

Deport the invaders — its no one’s fault but their own.

A tip to the protesters: waving foreign flags and giving us the finger is a lame way to gain sympathy.

So is draping yourself in the American flag while seeking amnesty for breaking our laws (Every illegal alien who is working or has worked in the Unites States has committed one or more crimes. Among the crimes that illegal aliens have committed by working here are ID theft, document fraud, Social Security fraud, employment “I-9 Form” fraud, income tax evasion, and conspiracy to violate immigration laws.)

Then whining and gnashing your teeth when you don’t get what you wanted from our congress: the right to demand that we citizens pay your bills. Who the hell are you to presume that we citizens owe it to you to support your children?

If you’re so darn unhappy here - go home! You are not wanted and your cries are an insult to Americans that have to put up with your posturing and name-calling when you don’t receive what you demand from our government. This is NOT your country and you can leave it at any time.

    Ah,

Good old local gop must be mad enough to spit nails. I love it. But that what happens when one supports child rapists and other criminals. Since you do not believe they are criminals, why don’t you open your house and more importantly your family to the illegals. Put your money where your mouth is, or shut up about how they are not criminals.

Love to have a crystal ball to see what this next congress will do in a few weeks about enforcing the laws already on the books. We must finish the border fence on the southern border to slow the incoming traffic of illegal drugs and illegal aliens. We need to use the military to guard our borders until the fence is complete. The killing of another Border Patrol agent should have woken up Obama and Big Sis but I haven’t heard a peep out of either one of them. Sad that they hate America so much.

    Dave,

I’ve not read the entire article in the NY Times regarding obama’s “strategy” in trying to gain Republican support for amnesty, which was to show he was serious about border security and cracking down on illegals. What the NY Times just admitted was that obama is not really serious about the issue, only that he wanted to appear to be serious about until he was able to sign an amnesty bill at which point border security would disappear as an issue for the administration.

I realize it’s politics but why play such games with National Security?

This is just another reason to never ever support any type of bill that does not just kick out illegals.

    CoM,

I agree, nobody should be playing games with our National Security. Since Teddy’s amnesty that Reagan signed off on more and more lawbreakers have come over the border than we can count. Slick Willie and George W didn’t take it seriously so now we have to reverse all those years of not paying attention to what is happening.

We have to be strong and secure the border and then catch the illegals already here when they screw up and send them back using Secure Communities and 287G at all the jails across the nation.

Every one of our employers have to use EVerify to catch illegal aliens trying to cheat the system and get jobs that legal immigrants and U.S. Citizens will do. When I got hired for each job since I left the Navy many years ago I have had to show my birth certificate, not the one Obama claims is his either, but the long form, the one with the state seal on it. I don’t see why everyone else doesn’t have to do that. No profiling if everyone has to do it right?

We need the Social Security Administration to resume sending out those no match letters to employers as well letting the IRS and FBI know about the identity theft that is going on. I read an article about a two year old in Utah that already has two house loans out in her name by a mexican illegal alien. The only reason he got caught was he tried to get another loan from the bank that family uses and the bank called the parents once they saw the 2 year olds SSN being used on a loan application.

Locally we need to continue with DUI checkpoints to catch those driving without a license. Impound those cars. Change the law that nobody can register a car without a valid Virginia driver’s license. Make it impossible for the illegal aliens already here in Virginia to drive. They can’t drive, they can’t work, they leave Virginia and go to some other sanctuary state.

Once they are all in santuary states it’ll be easy to round them up and send them back to their home countries. All of them, no exceptions.

Think how much we can save the taxpayers with cutting out the ESL classes and the free meals at schools as well as crowding in our jails and schools. The taxpayers win!!!
