Lots of out of control fires due to high winds today — a section of Interstate 95 was closed today, a few houses burned to the ground, and a neighborhood in Occoquan was evacuated. Not a good day. Every firefighter in the area is battling brushfires, leaving few resources, if any, for any other kind of fire emergency.
If you have an emergency today, you’re the first responder. Time for all of us to step up.

Thank you to all our Volunteer and Paid Firefighters for their outstanding dedication and service!
New d.c. fire chief is slashing overtime! Great to see a stand against the favortism as well.
Firefighters do litlle when there are not calls and o.t.is abused. Then they get a tude when called out. Low education and little growth promotes frustration that money wont douse.
That is the ugliness of unions.
Unions once were needed but with 40 hr work weeks they are no longer relevant and members are undeserving. Want more cash.go to school.lazy cry babies.
