Babur Lateef Underwhelms

By Greg L | 16 April 2011 | Prince William County | 13 Comments

Campaign finance reports are out, giving James Young an opportunity to deliver one of his classic critiques that tears away the spin and gets right to the truth.

In toto, then, excluding money from the candidate himself, from out of state, and out of the County, Dr. Lateef has raised only $21,161, or less than 15%, from County residents or businesses within the County.  Many of the last appear to be from other medical professionals, medical suppliers, and even one of Dr. Lateef’s employees (if Lateef were a Republican, no doubt the far Left would be screaming about how this individual was browbeaten into contributing, or some other nonsensical charge).

This is almost as laughable as the finance report games his primary opponent tried in January, only to drop out of the race in March.  To add insult to injury, Lateef made sure to travel down to Richmond last night for an event with the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where they honored Charlie Deane.  Always nice to see Lateef aligning himself with those who want to protect illegal aliens from the consequences of their unlawful behavior.  That amounts to something like a whopping 25% of the electorate last time I checked.

No local support and an alignment with the illegal alien lobby.  That’s a real recipe for electoral success in Prince William County, I’m tellin’ ya.

The hapless moonhowler (dolf) over at moonbats now is spreading lies that Corey Stewart does not distinguish between illegal and legal immigrants.

Forget the hypocrites at moonhowlings, apparently they don’t care about Lateef’s past where he had openly negative views towards certain ethnic groups. They don’t mind supporting someone with racist views when that person is a liberal.

Babur Lateef running for chair of Prince William County is a fraud and a liar. A quick check of his home address shows that he and his wife Tarannum Lateef also a doctor, purchased their house for 1.2 million in 2006. They then claimed to the 2 banks holding the mortgages that they could not pay even though they have income of over $400,000 annually.

They then scammed the banks into holding a short sale. The buyer for the house for $616,000 on 6/08/10 ? Their sister in law, Dr. Najia Shakoor of Chicago, Illinois. She is married to Dr. Omar Lateef of Rush Hospital in Chicago. Convenient how she used her maiden name to try and appear not related.

The Babur Lateef and Tarannum Lateef still live in this house after defrauding the Banks for over $600,000.

All this information is publicly available at:

This individual, Babur Lateef is a deceitful person and the people of Prince William County need to know the facts. He should open his tax returns as candidate for public office. I can’t say anything on this forum but Babur Lateef will not do this due to numerous “irregularities”.

Babur Lateef has not only defrauded the banks, but also cut his Prince William County property tax in half. They think that because they are doctors they can fool the people of Prince William County.

You might want to recheck your facts regarding the short sale. The sister in law was the highest bidder on the property at a Trustee’s sale April 26, 2010. This was not a short sale by any stretch of the imagination. The Dems should not put forth this dead beat mortgage defaulting doctor as a candidate.

This information regarding Babur Lateef s character and his behavior is shocking. It was amazing to see Babur Lateef blame Corey Stewart s actions were the reason for the decline of property value in Prince William County when in fact Babur Lateef and his wife Tarannum Lateef concocted this scheme to defraud the banks out of hundreds of thousands of dollars and lower their own property taxes.

I am appealed that Babur Lateef has the nerve to go out in public in front of the residents of Prince William county and throw accusations when he himself has committed mortgage fraud. This what we know of so far, I wonder what else we will find out.

The voters are not stupid Mr. Lateef!

If Babur Lateef thinks he can pull the wool over the eyes of Prince William County Voters he has another thing coming! It a sad day when a guy like Babur Lateef with his questionable background and greed, feel that he is the best candidate for the Democrats.

Lateef should be tossed out of the race for Prince William County chair. His past actions show that he is not to be trusted. I had the unfortunate experience to have him as an eye doctor and can only say that had I known what kind of person he was, I would have never gone to the appointment. He also billed my insurance twice for the same visit and it took forever to resolve the issue. I’m not saying anything about his intentions but this recent information about his mortgage scam makes me wonder.

We don’t need a dishonest person like Babur Lateef as chair.

This guy Babur Lateef should explain his mortgage scam. This is all public information and I am sure there are some investigations going on. Babur Lateef commits fraud and then has the nerve to run for public office. What’s going on here?

I am sure there is more once some additional stones are overturned. Someone who would do something like this is certainly involved in other illegal activities, maybe medicare fraud like the other comments eludes to.

Babur Lateef needs to be disqualified and charged.

And I bet you think Bush captured Bin Laden and has him being waterboarded in Gitmo. What color is the sky in your world?

What does that have to do with anything. Babur Lateef committed mortgage fraud. Purposefully withholding payments from the banks to add financial strife. Then having his sister in law buy back the house at half price. It looks to me like Babur Lateef is just looking to use the office of Prince William Chair as a way to stuff his own pockets. Lets do a credit report check on Babur Lateef. He no doubt ruined it for the future but I’m sure he has a devious plan.

This guy is a hoax and a fraud. I am glad we found this information out about Babur Lateef.

Perhaps Babur lateef can explain how his tax return for 2009 show income of $407,234 and his 2010 return showed $418,341 ? His wife Tarannum Lateef is a Doctor at George Washington and his father Dr. Bari Lateef is a millionaire living in Youngstown Ohio. His brother is a top doctor at Rush Hospital in Chicago. If, as Babur Lateef claims, he had financial difficulties, why did he not just borrow the money to stay out of foreclosure?

The truth is he only let his house go into foreclosure, not his business property or his wife’s business property which they own or their income property townhouse. The truth is he and his brother scammed the banks by letting his house go into foreclosure and then buy it back.

Please spread the word about Babur Lateef and his mortgage fraud. He has raised a ton of money through his south asian medial connections and in reality most of these folks do not live in prince william county. Make sure he does not get votes! This man is a fraud, a liar and most of all unfit for public office.
