I am really enjoying the reports from “DemRulz” coming out of the DPVA summit held this weekend. If these are the little notes being made public about the presentations by leaders within the Democratic Party of Virginia, I can only imagine what the stuff is they’re choosing not to make public.
Westen was introduced by Rep. Bobby Scott, who noted that Democrats’ attempts at messaging “are somewhat constrained by truth and facts.”
“Somewhat?” Well, I guess that sums it up on the point of “messaging” by Democrats. They feel “constrained” by the truth, but not by a whole lot. Effectively “messaging” is a pack of lies, and quite deliberately so. To further expound on the topic of messaging and truthfulness, here’s another gem:
Mudcat Sanders got the day started with a call for new Democratic populism and advice on how to reach rural Virginia (respect their culture and be genuine).
I can just imagine someone like Adam Ebbin, head of the House Homosexual Caucus, running on down to Broadview and trying to “respect” the “culture” of the valley while he works so hard to “be genuine”. He genuinely has nothing but contempt for anything other than urban Virginia, and it shows. They should sell tickets for people to watch him be genuine about his contemptuousness and simultaneously display respect. It would be the contortionist show of the century.
Every time I hear some Democrat strategist talk about messaging it’s a primer on how to tell people things you don’t believe while appearing honest in order to get them to like you. What body language you should use. What tone of voice you use. What posture you need to have. These folks dedicate so much time trying to help people appear genuine and honest you’d think they’d have a booming business in training used car salesmen. Instead they just want to control our lives.
But it is pretty fun to watch them admit what they’re actually doing, I must admit. Honestly.
