Babur Lateef Under Criminal Investigation

By Greg L | 19 July 2011 | DPVA, Prince William County | 13 Comments

According to Riley over at Virtucon, sources are saying a special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate charges of wire fraud and bank fraud.  Just imagine, the darling of PWC dems whose candidacy was so celebrated by the Moonhowlings/moonbat crowd may soon be under indictment for his mortgage default scheme.  This might be the first time Paul Ebert’s office ever was forced to initiate a criminal investigation of a Democratic candidate, as his usual method of operations is to launch investigations of Republicans that are dropped soon after the election is over.

While the facts surrounding Lateef’s half-million dollar default on his mortgage and family members subsequently buying the property and renting it to back Lateef for half of what his mortgage payment used to be, this case will hinge on evidence of an intent to defraud.  Seeing how Lateef transferred the property a few months before the default took place, it certainly seems that there’s evidence there that this was a planned scheme in which case the criminal charges would be appropriate.  Fools make bad decisions and suffer for them.  Crooks make decisions that are bad for everyone else, but they do OK.  In this case Lateef is sitting pretty in his old house and someone is out half a million dollars.

Dems out there are grumbling that maybe it wasn’t such a great idea to abuse Gary Friedman so badly and try to push him out of the party.  At this point it’s far too late in the cycle for Friedman to replace Lateef as a candidate, leaving Dems with no one but a soon to be indicted fraudster to run at the top of their ticket in Prince William County.  The disaster that is Bruce Roemmelt and Brian Moran racks up another embarrassing example of Democrat leadership being entirely out of touch with reality, leaving them the laughinstock of Virginia for having recruited yet another fatally flawed candidate this election cycle.  So far DPVA has tried to foist someone who tries to run over pro-life protesters with their cars, an attorney who seeks out pedophiles and kiddie porn traffickers as clients, and now a real estate fraudster as candidates this election cycle.

Voters might start drawing conclusions from this pattern.  Really.

Do people honestly think that this kind of stuff won’t get out? If he did what the say I hope they throw the book at him! If true how arrogant to think he wouldn’t get caught.

As with most Democrats that I have met (especially the “liberal” ones) rules and laws are for the other people, they do not apply to them.
The bad news is this kind of behavior is rampant among “professional” politicians. The concept of Morals and Honor have escaped them for years. I have so little confidence in government anymore.

If he does withdraw, “Freedom,” perhaps he can use that money for a legal defense fund. ;-)

If he were a republican and Paul Ebert were a democrat; I support Paul Ebert by the way, none of this broken home not my fault I sold drugs stuff gets by him!!!; you would be complaining about how charges were brought up this close to election time.

Hey, the bank accepted the short sale and that is that. It is unethical but not illegal to tell your family that your house is going to be sold at auction? The farmers of the great depression kept outsiders from comming to farm auctions , bid a dollar for the property then sold it back to there own.

Is this not just a case of family looking after family no matter distasteful it may seem?

The banksters sold people these mortgage backed securities telling them how great they were then hedged against them failing right?

Eberts actions would be better served to investigate the bank which managed the sale so they could get there fees at the expense of the holders of these securitys?

Smells like a red herring folks! Check to see if the bank lost anymoney on this one Greg

Bruce Roemmelt has, thus far, recruited clowns and criminals to run against Republicans. But this should not surprise anyone. The Democrat bench in Prince William is frankly weak. Moreover they are in large measure out of step and out of touch with the majority of voters in this county. They like to point to ‘08 Obama performance as evidence that D’s are on the surge in Prince William, However, it’s clear now to most sane people that the ‘08 election was an anomaly composed of people voting for ”the first black president” and those who were frankly frustrated with a weak McCain candidacy.

The majority of PWC residents get it. Democrats are doing all they can to weaken America as we know it to fashion it into the socialist state they all—in their heart of hearts—want. Too bad for them that voters are wise to their scheme.

As you are aware or should be aware, if mortgage fraud is involved, the se would be FEDERAL offenses, and Paul Ebert wouold have nothing to do with the investigation or prosecution.

    The Philanderer Gingrich for President.

The short sale was reportedly REJECTED by the bank, thus the home went to foreclosure and auction.

Our sources indicated to us that Ebert is investigating bank fraud and wire fraud, not mortgage fraud. The gist is that Lateef allegedly funneled his assets to his sister-in-law so the bank would be forced to foreclose since his own assets would be too low to do anything else but foreclose.

Also, Ebert is refusing to comment on this whereas in the past he freely commented on investigations into Corey Stewart, Rich Anderson and Steve Chapman (all GOPers.)

Babur Lateef and Taranum Lateef orchestrated the entire fraud. It is plain and simple, her name was removed from the deed a year earlier in an attempt to shield her credit.

Why would one spouse of a married couple with four children and still happily married (from all outward appearances) remove their name from the deed of their primary home? What possible answer could there be other than the fact that they planned this escapade.

Whatever kind of Doctors they are, thinking they could get away with this and have Babur run for office is unbelievable.

We know the facts: Babur transferred money to his sister in law and brother. That is where the money came from to buy the house at the bank sale and that monetary transfer is against the law and criminal. That is why the investigation is focused on the wire transfer and bank fraud aspect of this case.

They could have quietly gone about their lives and the odds are no one would have been the wiser. Now by running for office, Babur Lateef will soon find himself in a jail cell and with a criminal record and the loss of his physicians license.

Babur Lateef is a Conman disguised as a “Doctor”. One thing is for certain, we will find out why Babur Lateef would not release his tax returns. If myself or my family went through hard times and I was then conveniently running for office, I would show the constituents my tax return. This would prove my need for the “foreclosure” and end the speculation.

Now we will see these four Doctors brought up on charges of wire fraud and Bank fraud and who knows what else.

It seems that these Lateef’s are out to benefit themselves and political office is only a gateway to enriching themselves even more. Who knows what favors will be exchanged for “money hidden in the freezer”

Voters should also be aware that this family is good friends with former Democratic Congressman James Traficant who did 7 years in the Federal Penitentiary and represented Youngstown, Ohio, home town of the Lateef clan.

    From Wikipedia regarding Traficant:

He was expelled after being convicted of taking bribes, filing false tax returns, racketeering

Sounds like Babur needs to go back to school to find out how to hide things better.

This guy Lateef needs to release his tax returns otherwise I believe he is guilty. What we don’t need in PWC is a self serving individual in office. Who knows what Babur Lateef will use the office of Chair for, other than enriching himself and his family interests.

    He is done.

I worked there for 11 -years and they are corrupt hiring friends- and wasting money-father mothers and brothers - its Mayberry-
Just Like what Corey Has done all Prince County has right now is family members working –
examples:Tax Dept.; Real-Estate Assessments; Area Agency on Aging-
Look for names and math the last names (Hint, hint)

This County is Corrupt - high percentages are family members and nepotism is very rampant. Do some research deep- and the numbers are high- I used to work for them for many years - I am not disgruntled because I left on good terms- but the way they work is sick & some managers not all are unable to clearly write and speak. Once they are hire they are nurtured - yes its true for most organizations but blood relationship is very high- think of this as Mayberry.
