Mark Warner Is Out?

By Greg L | 1 August 2011 | US Senate | 20 Comments

Heard today that there’s some buzz that Senator Mark Warner will not run for re-election in 2014.  That would be an interesting development.

Why would Warner not run again for the Senate? To prepare for a run for President in 2016? I knew Webb would never run again because he doesn’t like working with other people unless he can be in charge. He doesn’t play well with others and hates anyone telling him what to do. I knew he would hate the Senate where seniority is everything. Webb said during his campaign that he preferred solitary activities, like writing. But Warner? He seems to love politics and the Senate. Why would he leave? He’ll be the senior Virginia Senator!

That title and $2.00 will buy him a cup of coffee. Hope he does go. Completely worthless at his job!

I heard the same buzz. It must be the sound of conservatives manning the cannons after taking the 2010 Hill.
The state returns to We the People.

But the next gubernatorial election after 2014 wouldn’t be until 2017. He’d have to leave early to run for Gov. again in 2013.

He really should take more care of what he does with other people and where he does those things. If he’s going to do that sort of thing, he should at least lock the door at the beach house lest someone walk in and see him doing that. Ewwwwww…..

Would YOU want another 6 years of Harry Reid being your boss and telling you what to say and how to vote?

I can see why even a moderately intelligent fellow who has other career options might want to serve a term as Senator. However, I can’t think of any reason such a person would want to serve two terms. Warner, unlike some of these people, doesn’t need the job. Why would he put up with the indignity of being a Member of Congress for any longer than a term? It’s a very embarrassing place to be, especially after the folly of the last few weeks.
