Driving liberals, dhimmis and illegal alien apologists absolutely insane since 2005...

Bob Pugh For Coles District

Few members of the Board of County Supervisors have been more consistently problematic than Marty Nohe.  His support of the illegal alien lobby while he claimed to be strongly in favor of the Rule of Law Resolution, his championing roads that only benefit development interests while denying he is trying to gut the Rural Crescent, and his determined efforts to hike government spending have been enraging.  I was hoping to have a strong challenger to oppose him this primary season, and we ended up with a very competent individual to do so, although it is unlikely that an anti-politician like Bob Pugh has much chance to beat him.  That’s unfortunate, as the Coles district would be far better served by a technocrat like Bob Pugh.

Notice which supervisor happily shows up to an Eric Byler/Annabel Park/Elena Schlossberg-Kunkle event? Why it’s Marty Nohe, the guy who wants illegal aliens to be able to get business licenses so they don’t have to use fraudulent paperwork in order to get unlawfully hired by someone else! The intent of this group is to rescind the Rule of Law Resolution, stop the county’s participation in the Section 287(g) Program that has so far turned over 4,000 illegal aliens over to the feds for deportation, and ensure illegal aliens can get in-state tuition in Virginia’s public colleges and universities. Marty will swear up and down he doesn’t want to support illegal aliens, but his actions clearly show otherwise.

On this matter alone, voters should throw Marty Nohe out of office. This is utterly reprehensible.

Challenging Marty is Bob Pugh, a financial analyst who runs a small investment firm in Gainesville. Bob is smart, has experience in county budgeting, land use planning and a host of other critical skills that would be absolutely terrific to have on the board. The only problem here is that Bob is kind of an anti-politician, whereas Marty is a master at being a politician. Bob hasn’t knocked on doors, has no campaign manager, hasn’t had campaign events to speak of, has raised no money, and sent out just one mailer to the district. You can’t take down an incumbent who the developers and business lobby like so much without actually running a campaign. There’s a lot of people that genuinely don’t like Marty’s snake-oil schtick, but not enough who are motivated to get to the polls and crush him without a campaign being there to lead the charge.

There will be another opportunity to take down Marty as there’s another candidate he will have to face in November. If that candidate runs a strong campaign, we can finally get rid of this disaster on the Board. I’d have liked to see this happen tomorrow, but in order to win an election you actually have to campaign. Bob Pugh hasn’t. He still deserves your support at the polls tomorrow and something unpredictable could happen to give him the win, but it’s not very likely.

It still would be rather satisfying however to see Marty narrowly squeak by against a candidate who didn’t even really mount a campaign.

It would be even more satisfying to see a double-talking, two-faced, squirelly SoB get taken down by a really nice, sincere, competent guy. My precinct will go for Pugh.

I’m for Pugh, and I’m telling my neighbors who ask who they should vote for to vote for him.

Gee, I think I did a better job of campaining than Pugh did, and I wasn’t even on the ballot. I would have voted for Ham Sandwich over Nohe had he been on the ballot.

Good job in totally pimping your multi-racial family, Marty. What a crass and tacky thing to do - I think the last brochure he stuffed inside my door had an 8″ x 10″ glossy of his African-american children and wife. Ok, we get it, you adopted black kids. Can we talk about your record?

I hope Marty has enough money left over to buy some hair - WOW!
