Obama Administration Wants You To Be A Crime Victim

By Greg L | 16 October 2012 | National Politics, Illegal Aliens, Crime, Prince William County | 18 Comments

Prince William County announced today that as of December 31st the Obama Administration will terminate the county’s participation in the Section 287(g) Program.  This program has so far processed over 5,000 criminal illegal aliens for deportation that the federal government would have otherwise ignored.  In playing politics with this successful public safety program, President Obama has demonstrated that he would rather you be a victim of a crime committed by illegal aliens than make any effort to get and keep illegal aliens out of our country because they might somehow end up being a useful voting bloc in the future.

In almost every case that I have researched the history of an illegal alien arrested for murder, rape or sexual assaults on children, the illegal alien had multiple interactions with state and local law enforcement authorities for vehicle moving violations, being drunk in public, identity fraud or other misdemeanors and less serious felony offenses.  The purpose behind the Section 287(g) Program is to allow state and local law enforcement officials to assist the overburdened federal authorities in identifying these criminal illegal aliens before their lawless behavior rises to the point someone dies or becomes a victim of a crime that will scar them for life.  The program is more than 120% more effective than the “Secure Communities” program in identifying illegal aliens, has been (up until the Obama Administration started undermining it) tailored to the needs of each community where it is in place, and leverages potentially 700,000 state and local law enforcement officials to assist only about 10,000 agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Bureau.

Ever since taking office this administration has tried to undermine this program because it works to help remove dangerous criminal illegal aliens.  The carefully-tailored solutions communities crafted along with the federal government were replaced with a “one size fits all” solution to supposedly “prioritize” removals early in the Obama administration, but which did little more than declare that the federal government had no interest in removing habitual drunk driving illegal aliens, or those that simply were caught stealing identities.  The federal government refused to disclose what it was doing with illegal aliens turned over to ICE for deportation and now has to be sued by the county in order to get it to answer basic questions like this.  Meanwhile, researchers at Syracuse University have found that the Obama administration has been fudging the statistics on deportations of illegal aliens and actually doing as little as possible to enforce our laws.  Obama has hated this program from the start, and has been doing everything he can to kill it.

The radical open borders policies of this administration put the interests of illegal aliens above the very lives of law-abiding american citizens and this is just one more example of  how Obama would rather see you raped or murdered than have an illegal alien inconvenienced by being held accountable for their willful violations of our laws.  Time and again this administration releases known criminal illegal aliens back into our communities rather than remove them, only to have those same individuals commit heinous acts such as kill nuns on their way to church.

The cost of the Obama administration’s decision will be measured in lives lost and children sexually abused.  This election isn’t solely about what kind of America you want to see for your children and grandchildren.  It will be about whether you will survive to see the future at all.

Apparently this is a “cost saving” measure to save the federal government $17 million. At the same time the federal government is ….

    - spending $1.5 Billion handing out free cell phones to lower income people
    - doing nothing about $4.5 billion in fraud and abuse in “food stamp” programs that people even used to buy firearms
    - handing out $3.9 billion in improper tax refunds to identity thieves

and wasting money on studying the sex habits of fruit flies, putting talking urinal cakes in bathrooms, handing out grant money to California which turns around and sells the grants at a discount, subsidizing airports where no one lands planes, building robotic squirrels, creating video games and producing musicals about “global warming.”

Funny how suddenly this administration has become so selectively concerned about spending.

I will never understand why our government puts the welfare of illegal aliens before their own law abiding citizens.

We need to get this ass out of office.

It will be interesting to see if crime stats correlate with the end of the 287g program.

Anyone know if this affects the City of Manassas?

This is a sad day for control of illegal immigration. What I understand is that the City of Manassas agreement has been extended until 12/31/2012.

If the 287G program is canceled on 12/13/12, I hope the City of Manassas, which is similarly affected, will be able to enroll in the Safe Communities program as an alternative. It is not as good as 287G but better than nothing. The most important aspect of these programs is that our city is viewed as discouraging illegal aliens, not as a safe haven. It doesn’t eliminate the issue, but does help move it elsewhere.

Once the DREAM Act passes in Maryland, this will be less of an issue.

I hope that there will be a public briefing on the secure communities program so people can decide clearly if it will work or not. We know 287g did. So let’s demand a public presentation by the PWC Police to see how it will work over the last system.

But make no mistake about it. As long as this is an open borders nation, and defacto we are, no program is going to be adequate catching these guys when they pour over the border like water over a damn.

It is the same agreement. The 287(g) agreement is with the PWC/Manassas Jail and Sherriff. Unless Obama is defeated, this all comes to an end.

The President stated last night during the debate that if the immigrants (his words) are found to be criminals they should be deported. This program has been effective in PW, Herndon and many other cities and towns. It isn’t a matter of money as they claim, it is poitics of the worse kind. Deportations cause lack of votes. HLS is doing everything they can to one-by-one rid cities & towns of the 287(g) agreements or tie the hands of the ICE agents so much that they can’t inforce these agreements. This illegal alien problems has escalated since 1986 and had cause problems with our economy ten fold. But . . . you will never hear the Federal Gov’t. admit this has anything to do with housing problems, medicaid, education, jobs, hospitals, safety and community problems. This program assisted cities & towns in getting a handle on problems they are facing and it has been working. We are a country of laws and they should be inforced to the letter.

For many months I have tried to get individuals on the Manassas City Council to pass a law/regulation/etc for people arrested to ‘reimburse the costs’ incurred in their own arrests. This would mean all perpetrators would have to reimburse the costs of the police processing them, the cost of their interpreters and translators, their incarceration, as well as their court costs, etc.

This would affect all people arrested, many of whom are from “other”, as in other jurisdictions who come to Manassas to do their crimes and are arrested here, and DIP as in ‘Drunk In Public.’ But it would also include the illegal aliens.

One cannot, by law, exact a fine or penalty without a trial. However, one can require ‘reimbursement of costs’, since the courts do this for their own costs every day of the week. Then, if the perpetrator actually goes to trial instead of just paying whatever fines are involved AND the ‘reimbursement of costs,’ let the judges dare to dismiss this ‘reimbursement of costs’ to the public by these criminals.

To ’secure’ the payment, a lien can be placed on the cars they use for their crimes, their gold jewelry and fancy watches, the houses where they have their drug meetings, etc.

Apart from the other criminals, this would put pressure on the illegal aliens — and their families.

Predictably, my understanding is that the Manassas City Attorney and the police chief say this is against the state law — without, of course, providing any specific citation. So, just more mysterious theological obfuscation to confuse everyone, more hot air to avoid doing anything.

Obama will not solve our problems, since he is a major part of the problem. Many of these issues have to be solved by the states, or the localities. This would also be one more way to take power back from the federal government, and put it in the hands of the people whose lives are directly affected.

In an effort to free the mind of the American people, enable their smooth transistion and swift compliance with the U.N. Agenda 21, as per president obama’s globalist agenda, we present the following.

“Secure Communities imposes no new or additional requirments on state and local law enforcement. The federal government, not the state or local law enforcement agency, determines what immigration enforcement action, if any, is appropriate.”

Keep it moving people, nothing to see here. Keep it moving. Bhaa! Bhaa!

Manassas City Council cannot pass an ordinance like that. Virginia is a Dillon Rule state, and Richmond has not given localities the power to make laws. If you believe your idea has merit, you should take it to your delegate, state senator, lobby the governor and the AG. Manassas City does not have the authority to take such actions.

The lazy politicians all hide behind the Dillon Rule which only says that the state can trump laws, not ‘prevent’ local ordinances from being created. In an even broader case like immigration, for example, the current governor would not be inclined to challenge local rules which deal with the immigration issue. But Manassas refuses to even address the issue, and hides behind the Dillon Rule.

The more general excuse on this issue is that the City cannot create ‘fines’ or ‘penalties’ which contravene state laws. What I am suggesting is not a ‘fine’ or a ‘penalty,’ but a ‘reimbursement of costs of arrest’ similar to how a judge assesses ‘court costs’ — in addition to the fine, penalty, or imprisonment he orders.

The city police department has a separate 287g MOU as does the PWC police. These are in addition to the one we have at the Adult Detention Center. All three MOU’s are to be done away with.

R&R- just like Greg said… Classy. I won’t be squirming after November as I believe Romney will win the election. When he does, let the deportations start!
