As elected officials line up to oppose the road development known at various times as the Bi-County Parkway, the Tri-County Parkway and the North-South Corridor, one important voice has been noticeably absent - that of Corey Stewart. Will Corey Stewart side with the people who are skeptical of the supposed “benefits” of this road project for developers and don’t want their interests harmed? Or will Corey side with developers who stand to make a fortune and care nothing about the traffic nightmare this will cause?
“As Chairman of the 2nd largest county in the Commonwealth, I have had to make thousands of decisions in land use cases. In every case, I have made sure what I decided was consistent in my belief in the rights of land owners and personal property rights” - Corey Stewart
If his record is a guide to what anyone can expect, Corey is going to become the cheerleader for this road project. After all, Sean Connaughton says it’s a good thing and Corey has pretty much become Sean Connaughton in every material way, so prepare for the bulldozers to start plowing up Civil War gravesites along Pageland Lane any time now.
UPDATE: Well the answer is ’with the developers,’ of course.
