A Dumping Ground For 4,719 Juvenile Illegal Aliens

By Greg L | 26 July 2014 | Illegal Aliens, Virginia Politics | 9 Comments

A few days ago I estimated the cost of having the federal government dump juvenile illegal aliens in Virginia based on statistics from a few years ago.  Today the federal Department of Health And Human Services released new data and the problem is quite evidently worse than I thought.  Instead of getting about 3,000 juvenile illegal aliens dumped in the Commonwealth, we’re on track to get even more as the federal government increases the proportional burden that the Commonwealth must bear while the feds pass on problems they created and aren’t interested in solving at all.

In 2010, according to information that the VERA Institute for Justice got from the federal government, 5% of illegal aliens in the “Unaccompanied Alien Children” program were placed in Virginia.  The recent report, which covers numbers from January 1, 2014 to July 7, 2014 indicates 2,234 illegal aliens have been sent here of the 30,340 in the report. The federal government conservatively estimates 65,000 illegal aliens will enter the UAC program this year.  So far 57,525 have arrived, so this estimate will be revised upwards very soon, and applying the current placement rate of 7.26% we can expect 4,719 to wind up in Virgina this year.

That’s only accounting for juvenile illegal aliens crossing the border without a parent, or do not have a parent living in the United States. Children under those circumstances are not entered into the UAC program, but just melt into the general population of illegal aliens unlawfully residing in our communities with little or no accounting and just about no chance they’ll ever appear at an immigration court hearing. Those numbers are just about impossible to guess at this point.

My back-of-the-envelope estimates suggest that this is going to cost Virginia taxpayers $496 million this year.  Just for the UACs that we know of, and not counting other juvenile illegal aliens that the now-overwhelmed Border Patrol cannot catch because it’s busy changing diapers and wiping runny noses.  That’s more than the commonwealth will spend in the next year on the entire judicial system in Virginia.  That’s eight times the amount of money Virginia will spend on services to veterans.  But we’re going to spend that much on illegal aliens who shouldn’t be in Virginia at all.

Just imagine what we could do to ease overcrowding in our schools and improve student-teacher ratios if instead we spent that money on the children we already have here now.

Doomed by illegals or doomed by foreign enemies. Great to have choices!

And here is what that great intellect Georgie boy Will has to say. See - we have no problem if we all take our share of these diseased, criminal illegals.
Just wonder how many of these new illegals Georgie boy has housed on his property and will commit to support them - preschool through college (where applicable)? Of course, by making this pronouncement in support of these illegals, Georgie boy is sucking up to big boss R. Murdock who just loves Open Borders.

Wow. 4,719 UACs in Va this year, and if your back of envelope cost estimate of 496 million VA tax dollars is even close to accurate, that’s over 100k per illegal kid in the program! Where IS that money coming from, and why does Obama think he can get away with this? These facts are astounding, and must be made public, bvbl! It already costs 45 billion to run the whole state for a year, and we’re not made of money.

I’m impressed with your sleuthing, and want you to get all the credit you deserve for uncovering these ridiculous numbers.

Obama knows he can get away with anything. He has demonstrated that he has no trouble violating the law with the full knowledge that no one will do anything to him — as he “transforms” (destroys) the country. So far the Supreme Court has ruled against him UNANIMOUSLY nine times on various issues. His objective is clear: to “transform” the United States. He and Eric Holder and their “Just-Us Department” have demonstrated that they are racists (For a vivid example, recall Holder’s comment regarding the Black Panthers in Pennsylvania: “I won’t prosecute my own people.”) Part of the way to “transform” the country is to flood the country with non-whites.

Regarding the illegals: why don’t the county sheriffs do something very basic? When they know someone is here illegal, from Mexico for example, just put them all in a bus and drive them to Washington, DC and drop them off at the Mexican Embassy, and leave them there.

If this were done on a nation-wide basis, it would have a major impact on the federal government’s (Obama’s) illegal behavior.

But, of course, this country is self-destructing because no one will do anything except talk.

Right - and they can’t even vote for the right candidates. Check how close the poles show the Wisconsin’s Governor’s race to be. And in Pennsylvania, the Republican Governor (Corbett) is running behind his opponent.

    “Flood the country with non-whites”?

Is that what’s going on? Like, on purpose? That can’t be legal or believable. Why the sherrifs bus these newcomers on down ato DC?

Don’t you think having more young immigrants is a good thing? It will help support Social Security. Land of the free and all of that

I don’t know. I’m not sure I could load them up on the bus or RR car myself, but they gotta go.

We are currently operating in a state of lawlessness (aka chaos), which is really ironic, since it is perpetrated by lawyers, the same group of people who created the laws.
