Just goes to show you that Candland and bloggers have little influence over political races in PWC. The incumbents won in spite of
Candland’s effort to defeat them. McQuigg did well in the Gainesville District while Candland stood out front handing out flyers in support of
her opponent at the Bull Run Middle School.

Stewart and Nohe may have lost at a convention; in a firehouse or a regular primary, they win.

Ironically, McQuigg would probably do worse in a regular primary.

Glen Hill once again runs on his record in a positive campaign and wins in a blowout.

At some point Mike Messier is going to learn his lesson.

Former Officer, seems that you are among the many who just love seeing our taxes being wasted on golf carts (toys for deputies) and the ever increasing budget for Hill’s enjoyment and entertainment. It’s not the character, but the
color of your skin. That’s the new mantra. Seeing Hill hugging and kissing on all those white women waiting in line
to vote for him made my skin crawl. Perhaps Messier should have been hugging and kissing on all the black women?
    Nah….he has more character!

Actually bloggers do have a huge impact. Without the bloggers few candidates would have stepped up tothe plate to run for office.
A precedent has been set. These incumbents are going to have to watch their back. Congressman Cantor was not defeated on the first challenge, but eventually he was defeated.

The bloggers probably destroyed Stewarts chances for winning statewide office. All the articles about Stewart raising taxes are now part of the public record and well known among bloggers and party activists.

    Anon,

That is a blogger’s fantasy to believe that they somehow influenced a race. What destroyed Stewart’s and all the other qualified
candidates for statewide race was a convention process that allowed for the opportunity for a pastor, community organizer,
and bigot to succeed by turning out his flock and some of the out of touch in PWC who supported him. A primary would have
a totally different outcome and as a result we had our rear ends handed to Republcans because of this vitriolic candidate.

We have seen the influence of the party purists who helped the Republicans. lose many statewide and Cngressionall races to include the
primary between Fimian a empty suit who had his rear end handed to him twice by the crowd
whose only reason for supporting him was,” he ran once before and lost so let’s give him another chance” to the ” Fimian is more
pro-life than Herrity” crowd who attend weekly bible classes, who were promised a bonus for their support from Fimian, but launched a whisper campaign against Herrity who was better suited for office than a person with a felonyconviction, known hothead, no political experience, etc. John Brownlee who ran for Attorney General would not have lost the Governor’s race because as a former prosecutor,Army veteran, he would not have brought the baggage to a race and lack of prosecutorial experience as Cuccinelli. Brownlee would have gone after white collar criminals as attorney general not gays and climate change professors.

PWC blogger’s supported Fimian now we have Connolly for life.
PWC blogger’s supported Cuccnelli now we have McAuliffe as our Governor
PWC blogger’s supported EW Jackson and now we have Northam in office.

PWC blogger’s supported Crawford,Omeara,Haynes, and Price and not one of them won. With those results, I would say you are better off
as a candidate not having the endorsement of a blogger.

^ WRONG, oh Donna know-it-all we suffer from Gerry Conolly due to the fact our District was “Gerrymandered” democratic. This county is going blue, by design.

Anon you are the one who is wrong. Has nothing to do with knowing it all but everything to do with presenting the facts. You must be a Fimian supporter in denial or a moron. The district was gerrymandered after Connolly took office. Herrity no longer lives in the 11 th district. Connolly made sure that Herrity will never run against him again. While Herrity is still representing the Springfield District and advocating for the over 100,000 residents he represents, Fimian is out chasing skirts.

I understand Fimian has attended a grand total of one meeting since being appointed to the College of William and Mary Board by McDonnell.

    To know-it-all,

The district is gerrymandered democrat. . . FACT. So, YES you were WRONG, my statement stands.

Connoly squeaked past Fimian by about 1000 votes in 2010. . .another FACT. Fimian lost , I guess you choose to wallow in hate? Enjoy.

Fimian lost as a repeat candidate against a freshman in a swing district during a wave election where Republicans picked up 63 seats in the House.

Guevara is a RINO!!!! He called to ask me to vote for him. I said ok lets talk. He is a vet, check. He spoke about conservative values, check. was against illegal immigration, check. When I asked him about deportation, he said “oh we can’t do that, they are already here”. The conversation went downhill from there. He did not speak highly of the other candidates, voluntarily. But he’s all for the illegals. If you read all his positions on this and that, not a word about the illegals. Its all taxes and traffic, the same drivel. Beware Sully district. You don’t get what you don’t vote for.

Being opposed to mass deportation doesn’t make you a RINO, it makes you sane.

The real reason they’re opposed to mass deportation is that illegal aliens tend not to make too much trouble for corrupt and incompetent politicians, and serve to displace those that potentially would.

For evidence of that, one need only look as far as Manassas Park—where a typical city council meeting has zero reporters and members of the public in attendance.

Opposed to mass deportation, but supportive of mass ignorance. An ignorant consumer is their best customer (apologies to the late Sy Syms).

By the way, Greg, you really ought to look into that city “manager” they hired. The headshop she runs in Harrisonburg, a “Touch of the Earth”, is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Guess which of the 5 workdays she is usually not in her office? If you guessed “Friday”, you win a cookie.

It took her about a year and a half after she got fired from Culpeper to find a city council stupid enough to hire her.

Rumor has it that her resume wound up in the discard pile after HR did their screening and Jeanette Rishell pulled it out and put it back in the interview pile.

Unknown is why the rest of council went along with it, but maybe they got tired of hearing Jeanette talking and went along with it just to shut her up while thinking, “This electorate voted Jeanette into office for chrissake, they’d have no problem with us hiring an incompetent city manager, assuming that they even have a clue what that is”
