Caveat Emptor: Get to Know Patricia Richie-Folks

By Greg L | 24 October 2017 | Manassas City | 4 Comments

Patricia Richie-Folks was elected City Treasurer during a special election last year, which happened to coincide with the Presidential and Congressional elections. Richie-Folks rode a wave of local anti-Trump sentiment and a woefully inept local press to a 2%-margin win over her opponent, Russ Harrison. It should be noted that this was Richie-Folks third attempt at elected office, having twice previously failed to garner enough support to be elected to Manassas City Council.

So why was “three the charm” for Richie-Folks? Why did she win over someone obviously better qualified for the position? Who is Patricia Richie-Folks? What special qualifications did she bring to the office? These are all legitimate questions that need to be answered…and we will answer them. However, the biggest question is, what in Patricia Richie-Folks background might otherwise disqualify her from office, or at least give the informed voter sufficient reason not to pull the lever for this individual of questionable character?

In an attempt to answer these lingering questions, the crack investigative team here at BVBL, consisting mainly of concerned citizens and those fed-up with a feckless local press, has spent no small amount of energy “peeling the onion” that is Patricia Richie-Folks. We shall present this in installments, building a damning case against Richie-Folks fitness to serve.

But we aren’t the only ones engaged in this effort, and we’d be remiss in not presenting (and crediting) the great investigative work done by others. So let’s get to this first.

First up is a look at Pat’s campaign finance report, which should reflect the same kind of vast financial experience she claims to posses, as one should rightly assume that her personal and campaign financial performance would be indicative of how she’s managing the city’s finances. It should demonstrate a consistent record of careful, well considered expenditures, should it not?

Well, that’s about as far from the case as it’s possible to get. Ritchie-Folks is clearly using her campaign finance account as a slush fund for personal expenditures, unless you subscribe to the notion that such things as travelling to visit out-of-state family and taking them out to dinner has any sort of connection to reasonable campaign activity. Usually, one’s campaign for a position in Manassas City government might be conducted in, well, a place like Manassas City. Kudos to the folks at Manassas Speaks here for this unparalleled oppportunity to gawk at utterly mock-worthy public incompetence:

Just to give you, dear reader, a sense of what actual responsibility looks like in case you’re not familiar with what these financial disclosures are supposed to look like, her opponent Russ Harrison is a solid example of grown-up behavior:

Russ Harrison’s Report

Were there so many democrat votes to be had in Lunberton NC and Jacksonville FL for a Manassas City election that it required “family dinners to discuss my campaign”? Was her “campaign staff” so big, and so malnourished as to warrant her own campaign-financed “Feed The Children” effort? We’re going to go out on a limb here and say “No”. This is Patricia Richie-Folks abusing the law to further her own lifestyle, and she’s willing to use deceit to do so. This is merely a continuation of a life-long pattern, which we will expose here, demonstrating that Patricia Richie-Folks is unfit for any elected office. We will also expose how this is typical of Manassas Democrats, who will defend such deceitful practices as “business as usual”

Folks, we’ve got it all. The “whole nine-yards”, and it will come out. It must, and we will. Stay tuned.

Great article! Glad to know some people are doing the job that our local press refuses to do. While I am not in the least surprised that a Democrat is misusing campaign funds, I am shocked at the boldness of it. Lumberton North Carolina and Jacksonville Florida? What legitimate campaign activities could possibly be conducted in those locations? All those meals with her campaign volunteers? I’ve worked lots of campaigns, and I might have been treated to so pizza or donuts and coffee, but never a sit-down meal.

Anyways, I am looking forward to whatever comes next. I am sure it will be enlightening.

I wonder what Danica Roams financial reports look like if you consider the myriad of outside influence its campaign is gathering.

    Chester,

Are we playing six degrees of separation? I believe Greg posted an article some years ago, where Richie-Folks was facebook friends with a transvestite porn-star, if memory serves. I am sure Patricia is in full support of Roem’s campaign, and vice-versa. Is there a pattern here?

When looking at her reports I couldn’t help but notice that she had to use correction tape. Are her math skills so bad that she can’t do basic arithmetic?
